About me:

A few things about myself:    

   1) I am Canadian (cough ... and proud of it)

    2) I absolutely love the readers on this site, and hearing their thoughts/questions either by reviews or messaging makes me simply dance. 

   3) I have a pet newt. He is so old it's not even funny. Yeah, 14 yrs. Pet store said 3. Good thing I like him. 

   4) Lastly: I got into writing fanfiction here for two reasons.

           A) The first is that I love to write. And not only that, I wanted to learn to write.

           B) Potions and Snitches is a great place for learning.

     Thus - I've made a lot of mistakes writing, but because of how  awesome the reviewers are, I've learned from those mistakes and gotten better. The kindness of the readers has kept me coming back time and time again, and really helped me improve my writing. At this point I'm now working on an original novel, meaning fanfiction has taken a back seat. That was always the goal, and I hope one day to take my writing somewhere besides just the internet and my friends' bookshelves.

  Current Project: Jan 1st 2016 update - Writing is going quite well. Still taking a break from fanfiction. Not promising any new P&S stories, but it isn't impossible. My original novel is slow but progressing, and is into some of the final drafts. Had some success in the past year - got a short story published! If you'd like to read the story, check out Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Possible. The story is called "The Pivotal Moment".     That was totally not what I expected, but it was sooo funny. At first I was like, what kind of ghoulish thing would make a noise like eeeee? Once it was explained I laughed so hard. I knew a girl in highschool that got hiccups like that, and I definitely get wht the boys where startled! Well done. The ending was so in character for Ron and Harry too, and just hilarious!

    Author's Response: I had the most terrific fun writing this story! And I thought it inevitable that Harry and Ron had to be caught out on one of their nighttime rambles, but to add the element of unexpected humor into the storyline... At least, I HOPED it would make people laugh! And thank you so much for letting me know it WORKED! Much appreciated! Hee! ;-)

    Ooh, I do like it. I love how Snape's cat is named Hecate, and I quite enjoy your characterizations. I particularily enjoyed the descriptions on Spinner's End and the soot on the windows and such. It gave me a wonderfully clear picture.

    Oh my! This is wonderful! What an evil pastime ... hunting after muggle children. I liked how you did the perspective of each of the people. It switched very smoothly and I had no trouble tossing my mind into another character's head. I also found it interesting that you had McNair in there, and it does make quite a lot of sense that he would do that. The story was very well written, and I most enjoyed the trip into Snape's head, and the little things here and there that were said about him, such as Lucius' comment on his shabby robes and working-class manners.
    One thing I would like to point out is that one of the lines when Severus is talking to Dumbledore says "... that wouldn't have noble, would it?" is missing a word in there. One of those silly things that happens when the brain is too fast for the hands! ;) Anyways, I thought you ought to know, as I like it when people point out those things in my own writing.
    The story is really enjoyable so far, and I cannot wait for the next chapter! Oh yes, and the ending to this chapter was wonderfully evil. Oh cliff hangers ... I appreciate a good cliff hanger, as you probably know!

    I'm glad you liked it, Whitetail! The different POVs were something of an experiment, and I'm glad you think it worked; writing a character like Macnair can be very interesting, because canon doesn't offer a lot of information and there's so much room for interpretation. Thank you for pointing out the missing word, I fixed that! Yes, I can never resists a cliffie ;)... but the second part of the story is finished and just needs to be edited, so it should be up soon. Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review!

    That was quite pretty. It had a very distinct feel to it - sweet, sad, and a little of something else I can't find words for. Lovely. I particularly liked the image of them in the kitchen dancing.

    Ooh. Interesting. I quite enjoyed the descriptions. They had a rather sharp and concise feel to them. I liked how you showed Snape's angrier side a bit in your descriptions.

    Ah yes, I was wondering how Snape would sidestep his appearance. Let's hope Polyjuice and the new potion mix well! I'd hate to think of what could happen if they don't. *Shudders*

    Author's Response: I'm sure that there were plenty of trial runs before the summer visit.  Hmmm, that might be an interesting series of drabbles.
