About me:

A few things about myself:    

   1) I am Canadian (cough ... and proud of it)

    2) I absolutely love the readers on this site, and hearing their thoughts/questions either by reviews or messaging makes me simply dance. 

   3) I have a pet newt. He is so old it's not even funny. Yeah, 14 yrs. Pet store said 3. Good thing I like him. 

   4) Lastly: I got into writing fanfiction here for two reasons.

           A) The first is that I love to write. And not only that, I wanted to learn to write.

           B) Potions and Snitches is a great place for learning.

     Thus - I've made a lot of mistakes writing, but because of how  awesome the reviewers are, I've learned from those mistakes and gotten better. The kindness of the readers has kept me coming back time and time again, and really helped me improve my writing. At this point I'm now working on an original novel, meaning fanfiction has taken a back seat. That was always the goal, and I hope one day to take my writing somewhere besides just the internet and my friends' bookshelves.

  Current Project: Jan 1st 2016 update - Writing is going quite well. Still taking a break from fanfiction. Not promising any new P&S stories, but it isn't impossible. My original novel is slow but progressing, and is into some of the final drafts. Had some success in the past year - got a short story published! If you'd like to read the story, check out Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Possible. The story is called "The Pivotal Moment".     I liked your use of repetition. I really liked the last two lines. I love storms, and rain, so it sort of conjured a nice image to my mind.

    Wow, I just pounded through all of your story here (sorry, it was so good I didn't pause to review, so I'll leave you a long one here). Which leads me to say, how on earth does this have so few reviews?!? It's brilliant! It took me a while to get what was going on, but wow, I have never seen this done before in any respect. The descriptions are so vivid!
    I love the way you have created a set of parameters for the portraits to function within - with them becoming caricatures of their former selves. The idea of Harry trying to get rid of his memories is also so accurate of his character, and I like how you've masked his true predicament with the others' suspicions he's a drunk.
    I wonder how long Harry's friends tried to intervene, because it has now obviously reached a point where they won't. I can see how it would be easier eventually to just start making excuses for him, which would help them reconcile with themselves their inability to rescue him.
    I love the subtle reminders of Harry's childhood and past, such as the first year potions class. It is so cool how Severus is being pulled into the memories. I wonder if somehow his consciousness is slightly linked with Harry's, as Harry has some of his memories. Technically, the portrait would also have his memories, so if they share memories, perhaps there is some sort of connection?
    I really haven't an idea where this is going to go, but I am really loving it. The one thing I would say is that I think Harry might be a little bit more guarded and defensive with Severus (and anyone), as when they first started to talk Harry seemed almost too willing to speak with him. I can see however how that could change, though, considering his memories being ripped out of him and perhaps he is less wary of Snape. Either way, I am loving it, and I look forward to an update!

    Wow, that is so Petunia! I like how you described her life from her eyes. There aren't many stories that include Petunia's point of view, so I have to say that the prologue was certainly enjoyable because of that.
    I seriously respect you for writing in another language than your native language; I recall having to write in Spanish when I was taking that class, and it is very daunting writing in another language, so good for you! Keep trying, and it can only get better. Thanks for sharing your writing, and I have to say, I am interested in where you will be going with this ... :) Looking forward to the next chapter!

    Ooh, this is really good. It feels very real, and the transitions from what is going on with Harry into what is going on in Snape's head are great. I love the way you portray the characters, and I really like how you can see Snape starting to become the man he is. Quite intriguing!

    That was really good. You could seriously feel Severus' pain, and understand why he did what he did. It was very realistic. You also portrayed the bullying very well in school. That part of Severus past I understand all to well. Thank you so much for such a riveting story.

The painting was pointless. Not that Harry was particularly against the abstract, but this was just a load of splatters on canvas. Why would someone bother creating it? Why would it be on display? And why was his former potions teacher taking such an interest in it?

    That was a very enjoyable piece of writing! Well done. I almost died with excitement when I realized just what painting they were staring at! I got the chance to go see it too (I sat in front of it for ten minutes at least), when my band class went to New York a few years ago. This was quite the adventure, seeing as all of us are from Saskatchewan. It's an incredible piece to see in n person, and I understand exactly what Snape and Harry meant, for the depth in the painting conveys so many meanings.
    I thought he story flowed quite nicely, and I was impressed how natural the situation seemed. It did not feel absurd in the least despite the odd location and meeting.

    Aw thanks heaps! I've actually never seen the painting in real life before, but as it resides in the National Gallery of Australia, I've read about how much money was spent on it and if it was actually worth or not. It's pleasing to know that since then, attitudes towards abstract art have improved a lot.

    Hi SammySnapeWolf! Well, I'm a sucker for de-aging, so I thought I'd give this a try. It is intriguing, so far. I liked the description of Harry playing around with the sparks. It seemed like the perfect activity for boredom! I noticed though that you switched from past tense to present tense when saying "Lately, he has grown to where ..." etc. Technically it should be past tense, to be consistent. It's tricky sometimes, I know. :) It took me a long time to get a good handle on tense, and I'm still not even close to perfect. Other than that, lovely! I am looking forward to the next chapter, and watching a disaster unfold! Cheers!

    I like it! I had put off reading this one, not sure if I would like it. You've done a good job with Severus' grouchy persona. Though you've hardly said anything about Harry, I can picture him quite clearly here!
