Following the death of Sirius, Harry isn't sure what to make of the sudden appearance of a six-year-old boy. The pair form a bond, unaware they're half-brothers, and Harry decides to take the boy to Hogwarts and hide him there. To aide the boy's education, Harry anonymously exchanges letters with Snape.

A story of a how a young boy becomes a father-figure to another while their own father is oblivious of their biological existence. But can sixteen-year-old Harry give what he himself has not gained? Can he go an entire year without being discovered? Just how far will Severus go to find the writer of those letters...Or are some things best left unknown?

    Author's Response: Thanks, glad to hear it. Though I haven't explained the potion very well yet, it only needs Harry's blood and will determine if he has any living relatives and such; no one else has to drink it. More on that later though, thanks for the review.

    No wonder Aragog seemed so out of place in this chapter. I thought that Toby really wasn't needed in this story, but he is sort of the reason why Harry went to Snape as SJE in the first place. I wonder if Toby will have a part to play in the war. Update soon!

    YAY! The story has come to the most important moment...the WAR! Not that I'm happy about people dying, just that the year is finally moving towards some direction. If Dumbledore isn't dead, what the heck is he doing? Destroying more Horcruxes? Update soon!

    Author's Response: The most important moment is the war? Interesting perspective. Ah, but this war will be a little different than the one in the book/film, with the crucial addition of Toby and other aspects that have been brought about in this story. And not only is the year moving forward, but it's almost over and time for the summer again. You'll find out what Dumbledore has been up to soon enough. As far as Harry knew, it was all some sort of experiment that only Dumbledore could understand. He had no idea that the cat he had been given to keep him company instead of Hedwig over the holidays before his 3rd year, was in fact, his hated Potions Master in disguise.

Because of the Azkaban escapee, Sirius Black, Severus is sent to stay with Harry during the entire summer, never making a sound nor leaving the boy's side. He could not speak, nor could he defend Harry against anyone other than the criminal on the loose, however Severus does something that no other adult in Harry's life had done before...he listened.

    I'm contented to read this entire story even if nothing exciting happens, just Sev and Harry keeping each other company. I wonder where Sirius is, though. Must be a blast when he meets the cat.

Sequel, of sorts, to "Moment of Impact." Harry and Severus' relationship continues to develop through their correspondence during Harry's 6th year. Mainly follows canon but with the H/S mentor relationship established in "Moment of Impact."
