OK, not sure what to say. Love HP, like Snape and Harry gen fic, occasionally write some. Don't post much fic because am terrible at editing, so they just sit around in folders looking pretty (or not so pretty). Also draw a bit, but am no da Vinci. Am apparently not fond of pronouns today...

Updated 15rd Aug 2006. Chapter 13 added. And finally a potion is actually discussed....  Severus Snape has a secret and that secret could mean victory or defeat for the Order of the Phoenix. What has it to do with Harry?

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 01: A Very Bad Day. 26 Jun 2006
Reviewer: Bil (Signed)

Ooh, this is interesting! Hmm, my current guess is that James and Severus are brothers, but I could be wildly mistaken (I often am!).  I like how Hermione had calculated the bad days; that was so very Hermione.

Snape's clothes were fun, with the dangerous edge to an elegant ensemble. Snape vs Voldemort was also fun. Snape was pretty brave there; what a horrible game to play. The comparison between torture and teaching was also cool; though one has to wonder why he stays teaching if he hates it...

I really enjoyed reading this chapter; I like your dialogue and your descriptions.

Thank you very much.  It is a pleasure to see people enjoying the story.  A wonderful artist by the name of perselus at Deviant art has illustrated Snape in his DE robes.  http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/22995064/

Crimini, that was spooky. I enjoyed the bit with Harry and co at the start (especially Ron's comment about Malfoy giving up Potions!) but when you take the chapter as a whole that takes on a whole new perspective. Sort of a calm before the storm. Even with Harry and Hermione's misgivings, it's a severe contrast to what follows.

Treating the ceremony as a kind of religious rite made it even creepier, and I absolutely love your idea of the Dark Mark creation. Very original and marvellously done.

    An excellent chapter, highly evocative.

Oh, *wow*! That was intense. And brilliant. And intense. Snape is amazing, you know that? The poor man.

There is so much that is marvellous about this chapter. Snape's saving of the kids, Hermione's pov of the torture, the reactions of the Slytherins to Remus's presence, poor Draco's realisation things aren't right.... I really, seriously, enjoyed this chapter. But I'm thinking Severus is not in for a happy time at all....

Author's Response: That is defintiely true.... Severus is in for a bumpy ride.

There is so much in this story that is wonderfully, fascinatingly original. Taking deaths upon himself? A *Muggle* assistant?

So Polyjuice works on Muggles, huh? Brendan did a great job.

But I feel so sorry for Snape, trying so hard to do the right thing, nearly dying for it, but loathed by those he's trying to help. Such a hard road he travels. But you tell it brilliantly.

Dangnamit, this story just keeps getting better and better. And all the while, immensely intense. It's fascinating, the interactions of known characters, interactions of new characters, the way you spin the magic in the story into the magic of the story. This is amazing!

The ritual is intriguing. Everything is intriguing, actually; there's so much detail. And yet you're not explaining things until the correct point, so I still have questions - brilliant! I like when things are only explained at the proper time. In the mean time, I'm just really truly enjoying this.

Brendan does a great Snape. Even if he does pay for it later, poor chap. So what was it made Harry collapse, etc?

Again, great chapter! I am really enjoying this story. I think I've said that before, though. Sorry if I'm repeating myself. I just love this story. But I'm bad at putting it into words.

Author's Response: Thank you, thank you.  JJ

Answer to Fic Fest Challenge #5. Harry is making breakfast for the Dursleys, when he hears a noise. He looks outside and finds Severus Snape collapsed on the back porch. He helps his professor inside and heals him. Neutrality and thanks are exchanged.

That was neat, I enjoyed it. What a life Harry leads, to be blase about Snape turning up half dead on his doorstep! I liked how Harry tested Snape was really him (I think I personally yould have been too scared of the man to ask that though!). Nice little fic.

Holidays at Hogwarts. Snape's POV as he does his job.

Wow! I love this! It's like a piece of poetry, shadowing around the story and not going into details. The last line is brilliant, sort of a summing up of Snape, almost. I like the idea, and you wrote it beautifully.

Author's Response: Thank you!  This was my first ever drabble, and my first piece of fanfiction (on the net, that is, instead of being put through a paper shredder).  I had no idea drabble writing was so difficult.  Thank you for the Challenge, and helping me explore my writing!

Response to the Potions and Snitches.net Fic Fest Challenge # 5 by Bil. Although I’m not sure it is completely compliant. I tried though.

Harry gets up one morning and begins to make breakfast (for the Dursleys, if that's where he is). Hearing a noise at the door he cautiously goes to investigate - to find a battered Snape collapsed on the front doorstep. What happened to Snape, why is he in Harry's neighborhood and what in Merlin's name is Harry going to do with him?

That was really well done! I like the way the neighbours were noticing and Petunia was getting worried. Poor Harry. And poor Hedwig! I don't think much of the Order, for saying they'd keep an eye on him and completely ignoring him.

    Author's Response:

On the original draft Hedwig was only hurt, but it didn\'t flow the way I wanted it. So she had to go. I didn\'t want her to but there was no other way. As to the neighbors, they really had to be really daft not to notice there were problems in the Dursley house hold, but as it happens in real life too, not everyone is willing to do something to stop the problem. I\'m still not sure if I\'m going to do more with them, but the idea is intriging and I might still have them do something.

The Order in this case is not actually keeping an eye on Harry. They didn\'t in book six, just the letters, and so I\'m using that bit of information. There were no guards outside Privet Drive. The rest will be explained in later chapters.

Oh, wow! What an absolutely fascinating idea! You've really thought this thing through, and the potion and Snape's solution are both very intriguing. How is Snape going to get healed, though, and where are they going to go? They can't stay at the Dursleys, surely, but they don't seem to be about to go anywhere. The Order really messed up this one, didn't they?

This is going to be a really interesting story!

    Author's Response:

    Glad you like it ;)

I did put some thought into the story, but this is actually the combination of two plot bunnies that I had been working on for more than a year. When I saw your challenge I thought it was the best way to use those ideas that I had.

To find the answers to your questions you\'ll have to wait , but they will be resolved as the story progresses. About the Order, they did mess up big time, as did Dumbledore. But you will see why in a few chapters.

I already have chapter three done, I\'m just proof reading it, and wanted to wait to have at least half of chapter four typed and revised before posting.
