I want Harry (Tobias) to keep his independent spirit but he needs to let the Queen and her Consort help he adjust to his new life at least a little bit.
There is so much left to find out in this story. I'm glad you decided to come back and continue the series.
What was Potter doing, showing up at Hogwarts looking like Snape’s son? Snape is not Happy to discover that his son Ian has an older clone in Harry Potter.

Snape has an almost impossible task to win over Harry's trust, regard and even love. He can put the blame mostly on his own shoulders with his stubbornness. Now that he is trying to make his and Harry's relationship right he will have to use all his natural Slytherin cunning. I like the idea of Harry's grounding as punishment. This will force Harry to be a part of his father's life but Snape will have to go into super Dad mode to give Harry the life lessons he gave to Ian in just 9 weekends. (Or at least have Harry believing that he us a part of a family who loves and cares about him.).
That being said, I would like to see Harry's punishment reduced by 1 weekend for the fighting offense. Snape told Harry he should only fight if he had no way of avoiding the fight. Snape's adult thoughts were that Harry could have walked away but in Harry's experience walking away really wasn't an option even if the fight was partially because he was mad at Snape. I think that if over the next 8 weekends, Snape can get Harry to feel like it is no longer "Harry against the World" then Harry can have better judgement about conflicts and the lesion has been learned. After 8 weekends of time Snape could then afford to show his affection for his son without appearing weak or inconsistent in his parenting role.
Please update soon.
Being sent to stay in a psychiatric ward at St. Mungo’s isn’t exactly the most enjoyable way to spend a summer, so naturally, Harry’s pretty angry when he finds out that’s his destination, regardless of whether or not it might be good for him. Facing a full summer of being cut off from the Order’s plans, Harry’s even taken to envying Snape, because at least Snape knows what is going on. But when Harry arrives at St. Mungo’s and discovers that a fire has changed his destination from the teen ward to the adult ward, everything is turned upside down. Enter his roommate - suicidal, depressed, and none other than Severus Snape. They are both willing to bet that their summer will be a total disaster, and maybe it will be, but even the surest of gamblers are not always right.
Takes Place: 6th summer - Snape flavour: Depressed Snape

Author's Response: Hi Pearlk9! Yeah, pretty hard to resist making Snape wear a leather jacket. I am glad you enjoyed the break from sorrow. It is absolutely wonderful to hear you are still enjoying the story enough that you almost don't want it to end yet. That just makes my day! Cheers, Whitetail.
I'm so glad I followed your story from the beginning even though I have only reviewed twice. Some of my favorite Harry Potter fanfic to read is when Harry and Severus realize that they have so much in common and belong together as family or friends or something and finally find peace and happiness no matter the road that got them there. It probably goes without saying that I'm not a fan of what happened to Sererus in cannon. Your story gave me my happy ending for Harry and Severus even though their future will not always be easy.
Thank-you again and good luck with your RL book.
Hey Pearlk9! I am so glad for the reviews you did leave. Thank you so much for contunuing to come back and read Mental, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the ending, and the hope in it. This one was a very hard one personally to find a way to end it in hope, rather than despair. Not only did it take a lot of effort to write - but a lot of this story is rooted in personal experience, or the experiences of those I know. So thanks so much for you kind words, and the luck. :) - Whitetail.
Thanks to James' sacrifice, Lord Voldemort is defeated. Lily barely survives and is rescued by Severus. Years later Harry struggles to live side by side with his hateful and unforgiving stepfather in a very troubled household. Unbeknownst to both much greater challenges lie ahead.

Harry turns to magic in an attempt to be free of his nightmares. He has found a ritual to summon the spirits of those whom one has wronged so that one may atone. But nothing involving the Boy-Who-Lived is ever that simple.

Please continue your story. I can't wait to see what happens next. As always, I do want Severus to come out alive and well.
Author's Response: Oh yeah, there's nobody in the room that hasn't behaved poorly. But by casting the circle Snape essentially gave others permission to "cast the first stone" as it were. As for alive and well...we'll just have to wait and see.
Blaise probably couldn't expect much, this time. Blaise was a Death Eater's kid, raised by, if not always Death Eaters, at least not blood traitors. Molly Weasley's soul was so clean it squeaked. It was a good thing Blaise had Snape to fall back on, for awhile. Mrs. Weasley was just too...not a Death Eater. Way, way too not a Death Eater to want to keep Blaise for very long.

If anyone can help Blaise feel wanted and loved it would be Molly and Arthur Weasley but it won't be easy and it won't happen overnight. To me that just means you are going to have to write a long story (pretty please?).
Author's Response: LOL yes, a long story is planned, though I've only got about 40 pages written so far. Thanks for the review! The next chapter should be out late next week.
So Blaise is going to be the "perfect child" for the Wesleys? Good Luck with that. In a household with all those people and siblings like the twins and Ron around, Blaise is going to get into trouble sooner rather than later. It will probably take Arthur and Molly treating Blaise like one of their own after a bone headed stunt and not just one time before Blaise understands not all adults are alike. I'm looking forward for the Fireworks to began and Blaise's healing to start.
Poor Blaise. He keeps thinking Mrs Weasley doesn't like him. He doesn't realize that that she isn't unhappy with him but unhappy for him. I hope that during the Easter Break to come, the Weasley can start to get Blaise to feel less emotionally empty. Blaise's thoughts that he could never be a "Weasley kid" who runs around, makes friends, does stupid shit and gets into trouble is so telling. Those things are that kids do who know that they have parents who will always love them. How sad that Blaise doesn't feel like he can be a normal child.
As part of this story, I glad we get to see more of Harry and Snape's evolving relationship. Harry also needs to know that Snape will be there for him always even if he doesn't like the consequences of having a Dad to answer to for poor choices.
I'm glad that Harry and Blaise are getting their friendship back on track. Up until now, they both have been mistreated or neglected by the adults in their lives who should have been looking out for them. They need each other for support.
Thanks for updating.
