One unlucky hit with a strange spell. That's all it took to alter the course of Harry's life - and everyone else's life around him. Bound to stay within ten feet of each other, Harry Potter and Severus Snape have to learn to get along or die trying. But sometimes in the hardest of times, one can learn things never imagined possible. After all, the past doesn't define the future.

Omg you left it there?!?! Ugh like I need to know more! Lol obviously waiting until the 16th will be torture! This is a really good spot for Severus and Harry to see Remus and Sirius. His reaction was spot on. Cant wait to see what transpires in the next chapter!

Well that was some heavy chapter! Severus taking the stand to be the adult in the situation even with that accusation! Of course they all fought like school children first but that's a lot of emotion regarding at least Severus and Sirius without adding in Lupin and those issues and that accusation! Wonder what Harry will say when he wakes. Cant wait to see where this goes! You know the 30th is really a long way off! Lol j/k kind of cause it really is a ways off but then again I know waiting for it will make that chapter that much better lol!

“Yeah, I get it,” Harry said raggedly, looking away from Snape’s fierce gaze, “I just… it’s not safe for you to do that. I could hurt you when I’m like this – I have hurt you before.” Snape jerked his head in a dismissive gesture, “Hardly more than a few bruises, Potter. I can’t expect you to recognize me when you are in this sort of state, you don’t even recognize yourself. Occlumancy is the only solution to drawing you out of your suffering. I will not argue with you about it again.” “You could die,” Harry protested quietly, looking up at the man and feeling the edges of the wooden chair press into his thin shoulders and back, “I’m not a child anymore, Snape, I know that this could kill you.” “Then it kills me,” Snape responded flatly.

Your right the start and end of this story just feels like its supposed to be there. I really enjoyed this and feel like if you expanded upon it either backwards or forwards I would definitely delve back in!
Author's Response: thank you for your review! i am happy with how this fic starts and ends, even if it leaves a lot unexplained. i'm considering maybe expanding on the idea someday, once i finish some fic projects lol!

This is so good! I loved it!
Once upon a time a new headmaster dragged a young man in his charge back from the depths of darkness. Now, years later, another boy has turned up to school in poor shape and the Headmaster thinks it’s time for Severus Snape to pay forward what was once done for him, even if said Potions Master goes kicking and screaming all the way. Written for round two of the 2019 Tri-W tournament (even though it’s submitted late). If you like this story don't forget to go vote for it in Site News.

You made me cry several times! I could totally see that turn of events taking place for Serverus' childhood and how he would be swept away by Lucius and Tom! Oh when Harry goes running out to him just makes my heart hurt!! I love this I wish it was how the books would have been. You did so great with this and I could totally see Albus, Severus and Harry smiling in the great hall as their futures appear to infinitely brighter even with a war with Voldemort on the horizon. All because they realize that someone knows and cares.
“It’s like playing a game,” Harry said. “A judging game. You sit and listen and at the end of the day you’ll decide whether Severus Snape deserves to die or not.”
His father had spent his whole life trying to protect Harry from the outside world, from himself, at the expense of his own life. Now it was Harry's turn to at least try.

I absolutely don't want to wait for more of this story! Its freaking amazing!!! I love it and can't wait to find out more. I so hope Severus is able to be saved and he and Harry get a happy ending! Though I'm not sure what the happy ending would be as of yet lol. Great piece if work and I love this Harry and what you've shown of Severus so far!! Thank you for chapter 3!!!
Author's Response: Thank you!! I cannot wait for you to read the rest of this story as well!! Your reaction made my day and pushed me to finish this chapter a lot sooner as an early Christmas gift! I hope you'll like it! New chapter will be up shortly!

Ahhhhhh best Christmas present EVER!!!! And yes I did let out a little scream of excitement when I saw this story had been updated! Absolutely loved this chapter. Its haunting and chilling and just the right amount of longing. Oh how I wish for Severus and Harry to be reunited. Its sobering reading about the muggle children but honestly bullying a child because he's different in their eyes, while I wouldn't wish death they were not innocent either. It just gives that extra draw to exactly how powerful the magic is running and exactly why this story is unfolding as it is. Thank you for this, Merry Christmas and as you already know. No I cant wait for the next one lol
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it!! I'm so sorry for the delayed replies, my faulty internet has been all over the place, I barely got to edit the typos I left here and there, I'm hoping that it gets better coming the next few days. I agree, killing the muggle children was a necessary evil, they didn't exactly deserve death and they were children but, fate isn't always kind and forgiving. We're getting closer to the big reveal, hang in there! I cannot wait for your response. Happy reading!

Ok I'm intrigued as to how Lupin found them! And how Lupin fits in to them being caught. I'm desperately hoping Shacklebolt will ferret out a plan to get Harry and Snape out of there! I'm not liking the thought of the ministry having either Harry or Sev. How made is he going to be that Harry has turned himself in for hope of his release?? I cant wait to see where you take this!!! Shacklebolt is thinking and I feel likes that's a good thing so here's hoping lol
Author's Response: The next chapter is already well underway, so it will be up very soon! Lupin's connection and his character dynamic with the due is revealed in the next chapter. Yes, Shacklebolt knows that something is going on here, but is he smart to find out what? I won't spoil a thing for you, I would love for you to see where this is going! Happy reading, and as always you made my day!

Sev's fear was palpable! Ugh Remus just couldn't let things go could he? I mean I get it but after Sev showing him that memory you'd think...well I'm not sure what to think but it has to be that he's try and help Sev more than trying to make a target of their location. Then again I'm pretty sure no one has ever been charged with thinking straight in grief. Now I'm very interested in why Harry needs to hang on to his control for one more day... Is there a plan at play??? Will he and Sev be able to escape the Ministry's clutches?!?!!? Oh one can sure hope. I started crying just so you know when Harry described his missing of Sev as missing a limb and that if he tried he could see him standing in the corner! Broke my heart that did! Thanks for this chapter!!! Impatiently waiting for the next lol since you have me on the edge of my seat wanting to k ow what happens next!
Author's Response: Grief does funny albeit scary things to people, and I think Remus, even the one in Canon, never quite got over the Potters' deaths, it's quite tragic, actually. Harry's need to be in control for a while is partly revealed in this chapter (New chapter is up!) but will be more thoroughly explained as will the full extent of his plan.
Harry's bond with Severus is much stronger than a normal paternal-child bond, especially since Harry has been raised in isolation and only exposed to his father for the majority of his life, it's quite painful but close enough to liken the pain to a missing limb.
So sorry for the long wait on this one, but here it comes at last, NEW CHAPTER UP NOW!!
