I don’t think I’ve ever seen this done before - and I’ve read A LOT of Snape/Harry fanfiction! I loved the originality, and how OF COURSE Harry disobeys and stays, and how Snape is not nearly so cutting upon this discovery and it’s like, you know he understands Harry needs this; needs to help and be there. You truly see the cracks in both of them… the two lost boys trying SO HARD to save their de facto father and yet still failing. I think there could have been no more fitting ending. I would love to see a follow up to this. Harry and Snape now having no one but each other and Snape takes on a new fatherly/mentor role for Harry - what Dumbledore once was for him. Great job!

In 'The Goblet of Fire', the 4th year potions classes are working on poison antidotes. Harry is called away before the assignment is complete...what if he had stayed?

This was a fun one. I do so love botched potions fics and ones where Snape has to care for an injured or otherwise addled Harry. I like that there was the added suspense of him not knowing what Harry did wrong and why he was affected worse by the poison than he should’ve been. Nice little read!

Response to the Anaphylaxis challenge by Jan_AQ. Harry nearly brewed a perfect potion, but one small mishap could be the difference between life and death.

Guh. This one was even better than the last botched potions story you put out. I can see your writing improve as you go along, though really, you were already absolutely amazing to start! I so appreciate your perfect characterizations. Especially Snape, whose voice and mannerisms are probably one of the hardest to replicate. I love everything about this story, from the way Harry and Neville are building each other up at the beginning of class, to the way Harry’s allergy starts affecting him, to Snape’s POV (I love the timing of it!), to that END. OMG. I love the way Harry wakes up to the billowing robes leaving. So in character. Bravo.

When Harry can't escape Dudley's games, will he be able to hide his injuries?

Ah, Harry whump. I do so love. And of course that it was Snape who finally realized and broke through the glamours, and how he used Occlumency (and the fact that at this point in time Harry didn’t know what it was), and the promise that he’ll never return to Surrey. A good read!

It’s another normal evening for Harry Potter, serving detention in the dungeons, that is until he notices water at his feet… water that keeps getting deeper. Harry never expected Hogwarts to flood, or that Severus Snape would come after him when he’s swept out of the castle by the ever present water. A story in response to the 'Natural Disaster At Hogwarts' Challenge by Whitetail.

Noooooooooooo. Why must the story stop there? Oh, I really hope you'll update, despite the three year hiatus. This story is BRILLIANT, and a one of a kind. I've never read another like it. I am loving Snape and Harry braving illness and the elements together, with Snape very slowly coming to realize he might not have known Harry as well as he thought he did... You are superb, a goddess among authors, and I would so love to see your little masterpiece come to its conclusion.

One unlucky hit with a strange spell. That's all it took to alter the course of Harry's life - and everyone else's life around him. Bound to stay within ten feet of each other, Harry Potter and Severus Snape have to learn to get along or die trying.

But sometimes in the hardest of times, one can learn things never imagined possible. After all, the past doesn't define the future.

Ack, this is where you leave us??? Cruel, cruel, cruel. You are doing a marvelous job of slowly building up an acceptance and understanding between Snape and Harry, even- dare I say it- an affection ;) I really hope you'll update soon. The premise of this story is awesome; so are your characterizations (especially of our favorite greasy git). It would be such a shame if you abandoned it. I will be awaiting the next chapter with bated breath!

How does one tackle the favour of being reborn? And what part does Harry Potter play in Severus Snape’s new life after the war?

Oh wow. I just came across your stories today, and I have to say, I am just DEVOURING them. You write very well, and I am so taken in by Aftermath!Snape - this new, more patient and less bitter version. It is an interesting premise for sure. I love watching him grow more and more attached to Harry, who really could use a stable father figure after all the trauma the end of the war has wrought him. It really is quite evil to leave us hanging where you did, you know ;P I can't wait to see what peril Snape will have to save Harry from now, and too, I am eager to see Harry finally interacting with Dumbledore. I have always loved the relationship these three men inadvertently share, and I feel like this story is ripe with possibility. You are doing an awesome job. Please update soon!

    Author's Response:

Better late than never, I guess… because here is the update. Thanks for your review. I’m particularly glad that you picked up the potential in the story regarding the relationship between Dumbledore, Harry and Snape. I hope to be able to elaborate on that in the coming chapter(s). / Henna

Another superb installment! I just love the way you write Harry and Snape. How Harry is so understanding yet so vulnerable, and Snape has softened but still continues to struggle against his acerbic nature. Well done and eager for more :)

“Yeah, I get it,” Harry said raggedly, looking away from Snape’s fierce gaze, “I just… it’s not safe for you to do that. I could hurt you when I’m like this – I have hurt you before.”

Snape jerked his head in a dismissive gesture, “Hardly more than a few bruises, Potter. I can’t expect you to recognize me when you are in this sort of state, you don’t even recognize yourself. Occlumancy is the only solution to drawing you out of your suffering. I will not argue with you about it again.”

“You could die,” Harry protested quietly, looking up at the man and feeling the edges of the wooden chair press into his thin shoulders and back, “I’m not a child anymore, Snape, I know that this could kill you.”

“Then it kills me,” Snape responded flatly.

Title: Chapter 1: Aftereffect 24 Apr 2020
Reviewer: AngelMoon Girl (Signed)
Oh my GOSH. I frigging loved this, every little second! I only wish there were more! It is such an intriguing and heartbreaking premise. I personally would vote for a story where Harry is at Hogwarts (maybe an AU year six?) and this is happening. Where through it he gains a new understanding and appreciation for Snape, who at first feels his usual animosity for Harry but over time grows to care very much about him and it hurts him to see Harry having to deal with this. But even if not, and this remains a solitary story, damn, did it pack an impactful punch. I love that you show there are less than happy side effects to war; to having the darkest wizard of the age living inside you your whole life, and that such darkness would leave behind horrible aftereffects. I love too that this gives Snape a purpose post-war; one that is similar to what he was already doing, even. Protecting Harry, being sneaky/still using spying skills to cover for him. I just found that all so satisfying. And then of course there’s the fact that you built up to everything so well - I like the idea of a raging storm and everything shrouded in shadow, and that the revelation of Harry’s illness was slowly unraveled as the story went on. It was intoxicating, perfectly in-character given the time that had passed (Snape now more open and closer to Harry, but also a man of few words who will fiercely stand against Harry if he needs to) and seriously, bless you for gifting us with such a fandom gem!

Author's Response: aaahhh! your words, your beautiful words! seriously this is the sweetest review ever! I feel so touched that you love this fic so much. It's short but encompasses a lot and i'm glad you love it as I do :). I'm all for Snape protecting Harry while still retaining his Snape-ish ways. Thank you so much for your review, it means so much to me!

After what is surely a more-than-preventable potions accident, Harry Potter winds up stuck in the hospital wing, unable to wake up. Severus just wishes he knew why Poppy won’t stop bothering him about it.

WARM FUZZIES! This is SO LOVELY. Ugh, once again I am just SO IMPRESSED by your ability to rehash the usual Snape/Harry issues in a ~completely new~ way, with completely different results. My heart SWOONED to see Snape slowly growing more attached to Harry the more he visited him in the hospital wing, and how he managed to coax reluctant truths from the boy. It was SO TOUCHING the way he’d monitor Harry during nightmares, then when he gives him the journal for Christmas? AHHHH. Couldn’t have been a more perfect gift for what Harry was going through. Then you go and throw in that fabulous wrench where Snape makes the mistake of implying Harry won’t need him anymore, and now the ball is in Harry’s court... The resolution was SO satisfying and once again... I’m left breathlessly wanting more! Write more soon pretty pretty please? :)
