I am a senior at UC Berkeley, majoring in Astrophysics, and am a huge (though not obsessive) fan of Harry Potter and that whole universe. I'm also a huge fan of Stargate SG-1, and my level of obsession with that franchise can be seen by my choice of study in school; but that's an aside.
Anyway, writing is my hobby and I take it as seriously (if not more so) as I do Astrophysics. Thus, you'll never catch me writing any nonsense that doesn't have a proper plot and decent characterizations. A major pet peeve of mine is when people begin posting a story with no end in sight. That is, they begin writing a story, and start posting said story, but actually have no idea where they're going to take it. Within a few months, that story will lay dead and forgotten 'til the end of time. That will NEVER happen with me, I guarantee you. I begin stories with an end in mind, and when the means to that end begin to show themselves, the story approaches "posting" status. The stories below have reached "posting" status, that's why they're there now.
Unfortunately for you, P&S is not my main posting site. Fanfiction.net is my main posting site and I never intend to post anything on there unless I'm finished with the complete product. Which leaves you unfortunate/fortunate souls with the rough cut--the work in progress. You get to read it first, but the wait for updates will have to be longer than the other guys. Alas, a good thing and yet a bad. Updates will be happening, though, so don't worry. Ya'll can be my beta-readers, or whatever it is they're calling it. Note: I'm trained to accept and critically evaluate constructive criticism; I'm also trained to either ignore or shoot down any flamers. You've been warned.
A word of caution: As I am a scientist, all things science is my passion. As you can already tell, I'm quite wordy. Thus, if anything science-related pops up in my stories (and I can assure you, it will), and you're not the sciencey type, be prepared to gloss over a paragraph or two of technobabble. That's all I'm saying.
Happy reading! [Report This]
