Reviews For Muggleville
Author's Response: Thank you. :) No promises on the soon.
Author's Response: Awww, thanks! :D I actually do plan to write more, I just haven't been able to sit down and write. I have like zero free time lately. Thanks for reading and leaving me a review though! :D
Author's Response: They are magical people, going through magical means. The point is that regular rules didn't apply to them if they were with a Magical American agent. I figured that everything was secret and hush hush and they didn't want to leave a paper trail so they did things "specially".
A few little corrections. They would not say a flight to the US. They would specify the city, like welcome to flight ## to Detroit, or Boston, or Washington DC, not the US. Next, at the time this story takes place (remember the books are in the past!) the planes did not yet have personal monitors on the back of seats. There would be one main screen in each section with a few smaller screens above certain seats so Harry wouldn't be able to choose what he was watching, there would be one movie. Also, planes ALWAYS ask passengers to put their belts on OVER the blankets so that when people fall asleep and there's turbulence, they can see if someone is wearing their belt and they don't have to wake them to check. And you forgot the safety talk that is done on EVERY flight. About the nearest escape route, how to use the belt, what to do in case of an emergency, how the breathing masks and floatation devices work, not to smoke, ... Author's Response: As to the first part- I know that and I didn't mention it specifically on purpose. This is an imaginary town in the US, and I didn't want to have to research and add in another dimension to the cultural differences because although I know what different parts of the US are like (having lived in different regions) I wanted to focus on the general differences between the two countries and not get bogged down on details. This is supposed to be fun, for both me and the readers. As for the time the story took place, even though the Harry Potter world is supposed to be in 1995, there are a lot of differences in the fandom perceptions of when it can take place- a lot of people write the books as taking place in 2005. In any case, I remember little monitors being in planes around 2000, so I figured that if Harry's a 5th year, this story takes place around 2000. If I was a year or two early, I didn't think that it would matter that much that anyone would bother noticing. When I was a kid, and I had a blanket, the flight attendants didn't ask me to place it under the blanket, from what I can remember. Maybe since the flight attendant was the one doing it, she should have made sure that it was, or maybe since she was the one responsible for that area she knew that Harry had his safety belt on so it was okay. I don't know. I might change it, but I might not. I think the safety flight talk WAS in the chapter. I wouldn't have left that out unless you're talking about the second flight or something, and I didn't want to repeat the whole thing in real time because that would have been boring, so I alluded to it.
Author's Response: I thank you for your excitement. I will try!
Author's Response: Thank you. :) The social workers were kind of drugged- I guess I should have hinted about it a little more. hehe XD I'm glad that you like Hoppity a little more now, at least. Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: The one on fanfiction.net is still up. I will be updating it later, probably after I finish chapter 20 or 21.
Author's Response: LOL, I know. I could have gone the normal way but then where the originality? I actually came up with the story with my friend on AIM, and it was a lot funnier there with her than when I actually sat down and wrote it all out. oh well. Thanks for your review!
Author's Response: Haha, thanks. XD
Author's Response: Hiyas! :) Yes, I did get it and I sent you an e-mail back. I think you should have got it. Thanks for your review! :) |
