Maybe Weasley traditions don’t work on Potters. I feel like the adults could actually take some time to get to know Harry and his feelings, then life would be better for everyone. Of course this happened in canon too.
When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good. Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story. Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

With rescuing Remus being so easy, maybe someone should make sure he is himself and not a polyjuiced version. Or maybe I have a paranoid mind...interesting chapter
Author's Response: Sometimes it's the paranoid mind that saves the day. Just ask Moody. Maybe he's wrong a lot of times, but when he's right, it's the difference between life and death! ;)

No fruit throwing here. This chapter was riveting and had both Harry and Severus in character. Now if they don’t eventually talk and repair this, then I might freak a little.
Author's Response: Whew, I escaped the tomatoes! I think I can safely guarantee plenty more talk and interaction between our boys. ;) Thank you for reviewing!!

Enjoyable chapter. It’s good to see them both open up a little.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you like it. :)

Snape is wonderfully patient here and yet cleverly Slytherin, using Harry’s confusion to find out what he wants to know. An enjoyable chapter.
Author's Response: That Snape - always a Slytherin. :) Thanks for the review!

Awww. I like that the hug was awkward. That sounds realistic.

I really loved your story. It is interesting, well written and totally engrossing. Excellent job!
As hidden secrets are revealed, Harry is forced to deal with a most unexpected, and unwanted, development. Sevitus. OOC maybe??? Maybe not???

I know this story is very old but it is a true ten. Well written, in character and kept me riveted. Sad it wasn’t complete but still worth the read.

Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all... NOTE: This story has a prologue. It is not necessary to the plot of the story, but if you wish to read it, it is called(predictably enough) 'Prologue to Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat'

Sometimes I find with long stories, I'm bored and ready for them to end. Not this one! It held my interest throughout and had a satisfyingly happy ending. Cudos for a well written, enjoyable story.
