Summary: Harry develops a rare power/ability. The only other person who also has this ability, something similar to it, or any real working knowledge of it is Snape. Snape reluctantly (at first) helps Harry deal with his new power, and teaches him how to control and use it. Snape eventually adopts him. What the ability is, and when the story takes place is up to the writer.

Summary: Wizards had spotted Harry before his return to the Wizarding World. What if one had seen the abuse and reported it to someone who can (and does) make a real difference? (For example: a photographer sees it and reports it to the paper, a citizen sees it and reports it to Law Enforcement, etc.)

Summary: What if Minerva had punished Harry the day of the flying lessons instead of rewarding him? Would that eventually have affected his relationship with Snape?

Summary: Hurt/Comfort. Harry gets possessed by Voldemort for a brief time during Potions class one day. The experience is excruciatingly painful/traumatizing and leaves Harry hurt/hyperventilating/on the verge of a breakdown/etc. Snape calms him down and takes care of him after the ordeal.

Summary: When Harry's and Voldemort's spells collide at the end of the final battle, it has an unexpected effect: they both go hurtling back through time, either to the instant after Voldemort's first destruction, or to the end of fourth year (when their wands first connected). Must: -Harry has trouble remembering the future clearly; it either shows as an altered perspective (he thinks the way his future self did without the memory) and/or seer-like visions of the future -Harry decides to give Snape a second chance, knowing what he does now. He's more polite, studious, thankful, stands up for him, etc -Voldemort also has future knowledge, and they're constantly countering each other (e.g. Voldemort moves the Horcruxes, knowing them to be in danger) -Harry's also less antagonistic towards Malfoy, BUT they're not instantly friends -Harry's foreknowledge shouldn't allow him to solve everything, and some of his efforts should end up making things worse Maybe: -If back to pre-Hogwarts, Harry gets Sorted into a different House (like Hufflepuff or Slytherin) -No pairings or light slash preferred; I generally dislike romance -Parseltongue plays a medium to heavy role -Up to you how they interact

Summary: During PS/SS, McGonagall puts Harry, Ron and Hermione in detention after they mention the Stone. Quirrel gets the Stone for Voldemort, and he creates a new body for himself and funds his takeover of the Wizarding World. Harry and Snape find out that Dumbledore has been manipulating them so Harry can become a martyr and Snape his pet spy. They team together to destroy both Dumbledore and Voldemort.

However, the funding Voldemort has created has seriously inflated the economy. The gold standard plummets. Sickles and Knuts are worth more than Galleons. Gold is worth the same as pewter or less.

Required: Snape and Harry teaming up to topple Dumbledore and Voldemort; Hermione falling for Harry; Goblins; Weasley Twin pranks

Summary: Lily and James either come back to life and learn that Harry was adopted by Snape, or they have always been alive and realize that Harry is not James' son, but Severus'.

Summary: The isolation from his dorm mates and the insults from Slytherin cause Harry to finally break and try to hurt himself or others. Will this finally open everyone's eyes and make them realize that insults can have sever consequences? Must have Snape and other Slytherins realize how badly they treat Harry. Must take place during fifth year

Summary: Harry Potter is into everything he shouldn't be: drugs, drinking, all night parties, lasciviousness, free loading or exuberant spending, falling into a lifestyle he won't be able to maintain for long without killing himself at some point.

The Wizarding World seems content to let him be - except for one man. The unbreakable vow to protect Harry Potter includes protecting him from himself. Severus Snape has to fulfill his hardest duty yet: helping Harry Potter become a contributing member of society.
