Summary: Severus decides to de-age himself to give himself a second chance at life, and Dumbledore assigns Harry the job of taking care of the 7 year old Potions Master. One problem. Severus remembers everything, but keeps this fact hidden. Does Harry find out?

Summary:

1. Write a 5th year story where Black learns what it means to be the DADA teacher to cheeky students, and grade paper work.
2. Lupin is subbing for Hagrid.
3. Harry, after a late insightful Occlumency lesson with Professor Snape heads down to Hagrid/Lupins hut for a dinner visit.
4. Lupin and Black meet Harry halfway at the Whomping Willow.
5. That night is the 20th anniversary of the Werewolf prank done to Professor Snape.
6. Black, Lupin, and Harry see a ghost-like James hefting a blooded 15 year old Severus out from under the willow tunnel.
7. Ghost James at a loss, tries to spell young Severus somewhere safe. Accidentally sending young Severus to Harry’s time.
8. While unable to close the wound, Black, Lupin, and Harry all brush up against young Severus while taking him up to the castle.
9. Dumbledore informs them that because of this physical contact one of them must always be within sight of young Severus until healed, otherwise the injured boy could be pulled ether ‘between time’ or permanently anchored in the present.
10. Also, to send Severus back he must trust in someone.
11. Professor Snape has disappeared.
12. Students and parents too begin disappearing. Having ‘died’ before Voldemort was vanquished.
13. Severus’ wound takes a long time to heal. Slowly he becomes friendlier to Black, Lupin and Harry (who he keeps mistakenly calling James). Although his trust they fear they might never get.
14. Harry alone notices something not quite ‘true’ about Severus but he can’t quite name what.
15. Severus receives a visit from Dumbledore and asks what will happen to the Marauders for pulling such a dangerous prank when he goes back. Dumbledore won’t tell, and gets a forced promise out of Severus not to tell anyone about Lupin. This visit happens on Remus’ watch.
16. Harry and Severus visit Hogsmeade. Towards evening Severus tries to break away from Harry, and the two get caught by death-eater members.
17. While being marched through some shadowy woods, Harry is startled when he notices Severus has switched their appearances’ with a complicated glamour spell. Plus given Harry a bad stutter as well.
18. Severus, looking like ‘Harry’ talks Voldemort out of killing him and Snape’s ‘nephew’ by pledging his allegiance to obey Voldemort and take the mark, which has a two part spell to it.
19. Harry watches as total fear and pain crosses Severus’ young glamoured face, as Voldemort himself draws the skull-snake tattoo on his arm.
20. The order of the Phoenix rescues the two before the second part spell can be placed.
21. Back at Hogwarts Severus simply refuses to look or talk to the three.
22. Dumbledore visits, and sizing up the situation, throws an invisible spell over Black, Lupin, and Harry. Then putting a spell on Severus to forget they are in the room.
23. Dumbledore talks for awhile, before asking Severus what he might do to ‘have’ Severus’ trust and willingness to return to his own time. Severus’ reply is ‘nothing’.
24. Dumbledore then offers a small 100 year aged bottle of Complete Health Restoration. Which also requires an incantation. As well as Severus removing his glamour’s and robes.
25. Severus, doesn’t move for a full ten minutes, before finally agreeing by silently taking off his clothes, glamour’s and laying on a bed.
26. Black, Lupin, and Harry barely keep their silence as they lay eyes on Severus’ crippled left side. With a discolored blind eye. Badly bruised ear. Repeatedly broken arm. Repeatedly broken leg, and multiple belt buckle scars crisscrossing his back.
27. Much later, after young Severus has gone back to his own time, and all others have reappeared, Harry asks Professor Snape why he took the dark mark a second time. Snape removes a complicated glamour off his left forearm to reveal a long, wide, thin metal cuff, branded with the mark instead.

Well this challenge is definitely more of a story outline. But that is all it will ever be unless one of you great authors decides to pick it up!

Summary:

1. Write a story that focuses on Snape, Black, Harry, and Ron Weasley.
2. Ignoring canon after book four, start your story in the summer of 5th, 6th, or 7th year.
3. Everyone knows at least about Peter Pettigrew being still alive, thus Black is a free man right from the start of your fiction.
4. Black’s mother - who is still alive, but soon to die of an illness - asks him to visit her in St. Mungo’s. Where she tells Black that he has a half-twin from a rape she was victim of, before she knew she was expecting Sirius. Thus, she and Mr. Black, not wanting to keep a child that reminded her of an awful event, and he not the half-twin’s father gave Sirius’ twin to a distraught young witch who just had had a stillborn that same evening.
5. Severus Snape is that half-twin. Although he already knows about Sirius being his half-twin. How much longer Snape has known is for you the writer to decide.
6. Sirius is furious to be related to Snape, but after some thinking or convincing from Lupin decides to take up the DADA position at Hogwarts to get to know Snape better. It cannot be a quick forgive and forget for ether character.
7. The start of Christmas brake brings the bombshell, somehow Black discovers that Snape’s father was Tom Marvolo Riddle also known as Voldemort. Does Snape know this too? You decide. Who never made a horcruxe, or did not try to make one until after he heard the prophecy in 1980-81.
8. Snape does, unconsciously at least, know that calling his dark master anything but the Dark Lord WILL draw attention to himself, even in Hogwarts, because of his - Bone tie - to Voldemort and Tom Jr.
9. Voldermort was the son of Tom Riddle Junior; who was the son Tom Riddle Senor; who was the son of a squib bitter mother; who was one of three to five children of a happily married Dumbledore.
10. Mrs. Black is a 2nd great grand-daughter of Dumbledore, through one of his other children, as well.
11. Dumbledore knows or has suspected Snape being his 3rd great grandson through Voldermort and made himself Snape’s Godfather at some point.
12. Another secret Mrs. Black tells is that the Prophecy is really about Snape. Severus was born at 11:45pm July 31st 1960...to one who has thrice defied the him. Mrs. Black was never a true follower of Voldemort do to his raping her, thus ruining Voldermort’s plans secretly when she could.
13. The night that Snape delivered the first half of the prophecy in 1980-81, Mrs. Black alone witnessed Voldermort trying to kill Snape, who survived the killing curse. Voldermort then used various binding spells, to keep Snape’s silence of the half prophecy, and unknowingly giving Snape some of his powers and gifts.
14. Voldermort does not know Snape is his son before 1979 (if at all, before the final battle of the story) when raping married pure-blood Molly Weasley, and married mud-blood, but powerful, Lily Potter, in a last attempt to sire an heir. Why does he want or need an heir? You decide.
15. Harry and Ron are born at the exact same time July 31st. By old magic standards they too are half-twins.
16. Sirius furious at what he now knows about Snape, and furious too at Dumbledore for never turning Voldermort’s son in, heatedly tells Arthur Weasely about it - in a supposedly empty room - only to be shocked when Arthur reveals to Sirius that his godson Harry is a son of Voldermort, as well as Molly’s son Ron.
17. Snape, Harry, and Ron, are Voldemort’s only heirs. All three look themselves, with no glamour spells ever put on them. They all took after grandparents on their mothers side, yes even Harry. Who’s to say James didn’t look similar to a grandparent of Lily’s, but was not related.

So there is my challenge. Snape and Black becoming friends, Harry getting a sibling his age. Ron having to deal with being adopted, what younger sibling has never been teased about that? And Snape is the one who kills Voldemort.

Summary: Snape did not hate Harry for being James Potter's son, because as Lily's best friend, he was one of the few that knew Harry was adopted. He tells Harry, and when both have recovered after the war he helps Harry find his biological family. Possible crossovers: 1. Criminal Minds - Harry was given up by teenage Hotch and Haley who weren't ready to be parents. Story can take place anytime after Haley's death. 2. NCIS - a.) Tim's (or Tony's) ex from years ago had Harry and gave him up without telling him she was pregnant. OR b.) Sarah wasn't Tim's only sibling; he also had a younger brother who was kidnapped as a baby. In the process of looking for his family, they discover Harry's adoption was illegal (unbeknownst to James and Lily) and track down the McGees. Musts for both options: Team has a family dynamic, and gen only for NCIS - no romance between team members. 3. Castle - Rick Castle's ex-wife (not Alexis' mom) left him and didn't find out she was pregnant til afterward. She was angry with Castle, and since she didn't want kids anyway, she gave up Harry without telling him about the pregnancy. Bonus points if Martha knows something and doesn't say anything either. 4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Rupert Giles committed a few indiscretions in his youth, one of which (unbeknownst to him) resulted in a child. His father found out, however. He was determined that nothing affect his son's future as a Watcher, and so he used his considerable influence to take care of things quickly and quietly. 5. Charmed - Harry is Paige's twin brother. Musts: - Romance is optional, but no Harry/Draco and no Harry/Ginny. - Minimal angst, except for typical teenage stuff.
