Summary: My challenge is simple, or maybe not considering the lack of stories with these characteristics. My challenge is to write a Severitus, Sevitus or Snape mentor/guardian story WITHOUT disparaging James and Sirius to do so and without Draco being a poor misunderstood abused child who needs adoption too. (Sorry, I want Harry to be the center of the story). Where Harry isn’t turned against James, who died trying to save him. Where James is a good father and husband. Where Severus’ actions towards Harry and society (he becoming a Death Eater) are not excused by James and Sirius being horrible bullies (from canon we hear that Severus gave as good as he got and on DH we see that Severus was the first to insult not James and Sirius). Where Sirius isn’t portrayed as a reckless idiot who doesn’t give a damn for Harry (the man lived on rats for Harry!!! He told Harry to be careful on GoF. He obviously cares for him and can be responsible.) Harry isn’t the one who has to apologize to Snape. Snape is the adult who bullied a child for being a Potter not the other way around. I want to see a story where Severus becomes a better man through his relationship with Harry by admitting his faults and responsibility for his actions and atoning for them and where after some growth (not right at the beginning because then he’s be OOC), he can admit that James and Sirius actually grew up and were good people. I also don’t want to see Draco having a worse life than Harry. There is nothing in canon to support that. Quite the opposite, Draco seemed to be a pampered little boy with very loving parents. If you want to have Draco becoming better and befriending Harry that is fine by me. But Harry is the one with a crappy life who gets a parent, not Draco. I’ve always wanted to read a story like that. There are so many Severitus, Sevitus and Snape mentor/guardian with good proposals, with the promise to be so interesting but 99.9 percent of them fall on the same cliché: making Severus look good by making James and Sirius look bad and making Harry look like a whiner for complaining about his life at the Dursleys and saying he is the one at fault with Snape not the other way around. I’ve braved through some of them, but I mostly lose interest because of this. I want a Severitus, Sevitus or Snape mentor/guardian that won’t make me want to skim over most of the story. The main plot, how they become a family, how Severus might have been Harry’s biological father without them knowing. That is up to you, as long as you don’t make it sound as if James forced Lily into marriage and is abusive. They may even not be really married, the marriage may be a cover up. But bottom line is James and Sirius have to be GOOD people. If you have Sirius alive and them having to work together for their relationship for Harry, that’s extra points. That gives so much room for the imagination. Sirius has to be good but he doesn’t have to be perfect. He can be jealous. Imagine how much conflict and angst you can get out of the insecurities of both Severus and Sirius until they can finally work together for Harry (if you choose this that has to happen). Just remember not to make Sirius look childish. It’s easy to fall into that, from what I’ve seen. I hope someone can come up with a great story with those characteristics. I’m sure they can, Severus Snape is such a rich character and there are so many possibilities. Have fun playing with them people! PadyandMoony

Summary: I really want to see a story where, through a potions mishap concerning both Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape they are deaged to being teenagers with no memories of ever being an adult.Snape must be suspicious of what has happened. Dumbledore can react in any way you think of. If you have Snape remembering who Dumbledore is that's okay, because Dumbledore was a professor or headmaster while Snape was in Hogwarts as a student. The two deaged professors must interact with the current teachers and students at Hogwarts. Bonus points if: 1. Harry is the one that finds them after the potion accident. 2. Snape befriends Harry and both Harry and Snape dislike teenage Dumbledore. 3. Hermione is the one who brews the potion to get Dumbledore and Snape back to their original age. 4. If Harry and Luna realize that they like each other due to something said by one of the deaged Professors. 5. If Dumbledore and Snape retain their memories of being deaged. 6. Also, major bonus points if after Dumbledore and Snape regain their original age Snape adopts Harry to get him away from the Dursley's because Harry lets slip that he doesn't always get to eat while he's there. This fic must take place in Harry's fifth year or later. If it takes place after the sixth year it will by necessity be an AU since I want Dumbledore to be deaged.

Summary: Instructions: -Pick 12 of your favorite Christmas songs -Either create a series of one-shots, or a series with plot; each chapter being based off of the song -This is NOT a song-fic! You may post the lyrics or your favorite line to the song in the Author's Note, but please do not put the full lyrics into the story. Bonus points if one of the characters can say a line from the song in context. -The reason I don't want to have the lyrics in the song, well, I feel it almost draws back your idea. I want the idea of the one-shot to feel like the song, whether it be a scene the song depicts (White Christmas), or the fun childishness of the song (Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer)! Bonus Points: -If Snape teaches a song (only reason lyrics should be in one-shots) to a class. -If Snape is kept in chracter. -If Harry is adopted or taken under guardianship over holidays by Snape. -If it is an uber creative idea.
