    Professor Snape already knows about the map. He found out near the end of Harry's third year.

    He's seen the parchment, but it never revealed itself as a map to him.  He wouldn't have any idea it was a map just because the paper insulted him.

    I'm glad you enjoyed the explanation about the map password since that was one of my favorite chapters to write so far.  I needed to take a little break from writing because I was so busy, but I'm back and have started work on the next chapter.  Stay tuned :)

    Lemme guess... Lily wanted to use her own blood because James wasn't really Harry's father. I bet Harry'll look more like Snape once the previous potion wears off.

    This chapter was fascinating. Poor baby Harry. What a horrible thing to have happened on his birthday. I just love how Severus was overflowing with sympathy. Very clinical.

    I have to admit I am puzzled as to how this story is going to become a Severitus. Although, with a severitus, Snape does not have to be Harry's father does he? Now you have explained the marks on Harry's skin from earlier chapters, but where does the longer hair fit into things?

    Sev obviously did love Lily.

    Can't wait for more.

    Oh yeah, Snape really had tons of compassion in this chapter!  I thought that as a Potions Master, he'd be more concerned (and fascinated) by the potion than anything Harry would have to go through. 

     This will be a Severitus (Snape as Harry's father).  I'm just taking things a bit slow in the beginning to build things up.  Harry's "true" appearance after this masking potion wears off will be one clue.  There are many more to come, but I don't want to spoil it for you!

    The longer hair will also be explained.  I forgot I mentioned that in previous chapters, but I do have a way to explain that as well.  Again, I'd tell you, but it would spoil the fun of reading the next chapter (or two!)

     Thanks for all of your reviews!  Reader questions and comments really do help me when constructing the next chapter.  Others tend to pick up on things that may escape my mind :)

    I liked this chapter and the back story on Harry being burned and the potion making him look more like James. Is Severus really his father?!?!? Can't wait to read more!

     Yes, Severus is really his father.  It will be revealed in the coming chapters, so I hope you like how this fic progresses!

    Thanks so much for all your hard work on these chapters, when Lord knows you've got quite enough on your plate just attending medical school!
    I had to laugh at the possible side effects rattled off (just like at the end of commercials!)--but including "...constipation and excessive toenail growth"!!
    The other thing I really like is that your characterizations seem a lot more like canon. Snape, especially, can be a hard yet delicate balance of qualities, and you really do a nice job. Well done!

    You're first line really made me laugh!  Yeah, I don't know why it took me so long to decide to write my own fic...I really should have started when I was in college and had far more free time.  At least updates would have been more frequent!

     Those commercials were exactly what I thought of when I wrote the side effects.  I had to toss in something random that wasn't too gross, so I'm glad you liked it :)

     I'm glad you like the characterizations.  Thankfully, I find Snape to be one of the easier characters to write.  The only one I have real trouble with is Harry!

    Ah, I thought that they were going to find out that Snape was Harry's father!

    I'm so thrilled that you updated! Very original plot. Very intricate potion as well. You are very creative to have thought of it!

     Yes, I wanted to make it a bit different, so it won't be revealed (at least to Harry anyway) for a little bit more that Snape is Harry's father.  The potion is a bit of a hint (as was Lily's behavior when James volunteered his blood) for what is to come.
