Reviews For Muggleville
About your story: It's quite entertaining and I appreciate that you continue with it. Author's Response: Thank you for your comments and for your support!
Author's Response: Thanks for your review, mwc. It's fine to not agree. Not agreeing does not mean that a person doesn't understand the consequence, I just worry about any younger readers who end up reading a lot of corporal punishment stories and start to believe that it's always okay, even when it crosses the line of abuse. I think that some readers will read a cp story, and then create their own without understanding everything, thus teaching others that it is okay even when it is abuse (because it's the younger readers that seem to take it even farther than what they read). I wanted to make sure that they got the other side of the story so that could make up their own minds. Of course, this is all fiction but it's possible to learn mistakeningly from anyone and anything. Studies on the psychology of spanking is a rather new development within the last decade or so. Many people grew up with it, and they don't end up traumatized. It can be seen as a legitimate way to discipline someone in society. However, people should always be on the look out to make sure that the things they do are really okay, and be open minded enough to investigate and be willing to change their minds if that is not the case. Whatever they choose, they will be responsible for it.
I also agree with your author's note about spanking. It seems there's a lot of people writing fanfiction who believe spanking is ok, while I have learned that's it's not (for the reasons you mentioned). Great to see someone agreeing. Author's Response: Yes, I'm still alive! :) Hooray! I don't think that Harry will fully master Occlumency in this story, but he will be on his way! I'm glad that you agree about the spanking issue. I think for a lot of people it ends up being a battle between science and tradition. I worry about any younger readers who end up reading a lot of corporal punishment stories and start to believe that it's always okay, even when it crosses the line of abuse. I wanted to make sure that readers got the other side of the story since it didn't seem like anyone else was taking a stand about it. Whatever individuals choose, they will be responsible for it. Thanks for your review and show of support!

Author's Response: Thank you a monny nouse for your comments and show of support! I wanted to make sure that people got the other side of the story.
Author's Response: Thank you Kim! I am glad that you agreed about the tantrum scene and how Snape and Hoppity took care of it. I wasn't sure how to do it at first, but it finally came. Sorry for taking so long to update. Thanks for still reading!
Also, I had to laugh about the whole "vegetable" thing, because I'm a vegetarian, and my kids make fun of me for eating veggies all the time, and they chant "Can't make friends with salad" to me. I just can't seem to sell them on the idea of becoming a veggie though! LOL! Wonder why? Kids and veggies, just don't get along! :) Author's Response: Awww, yeah. Kids and veggies don't seem to mix, although Harry was good about eating veggies earlier. I think his age is starting to rub off on him. :) Thanks so much for your review and for still reading! :)
Author's Response: Don't worry, Mahi. It's not abandoned. I intend to finish it eventually. :) Thank you for your review and your support!
What was needed was the expert advice of Dr. Meany, that mean doctor that tells parents what to do. In this case, Dr. Meany would say that poor Harry's behavior was due to lack of rest and rest of vegatables - nothing the parent can do but obey the doctor. So the doctor says that the plate should be covered and put in the refrigarator and the poor child should go to bed an hours early for a whole week - until he isn't tired anymore. When the child is hungry, the plate is brought out and given to the child - if the child still doesn't eat, then he is still too too tired and must go back to bed. This only needs to be done a few times. Dr. Meany helped my a lot with raising a child. Love him. Author's Response: Aw, I love Mr. Meany! Great advice! Don't worry, I think that Harry will be facing more consequences in the future. I think that Snape is beginning to realize that Harry is a six year old boy now, for all intents and purposes and he will begin to treat him as such. Perhaps I will use some of Mr Meany's tactics. Thanks so much for the review!
