Reviews For Savior
~Jan Author's Response: Thanks! Next chapter is up, hope you like it.
Excellent chapter! I love the way you present the characters, you seem to be able to give them a dimension of life that not even J.K herself could. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this story and where you want to take it. Please update as often as possible. Gryffyn
Author's Response: Wow, what a compliment - thanks! I'm trying to update as often as I can. Hope you like the next chapter.
I had another comment. It seems like Snape has an adult version of a similar problem as Harry. Harry reacts to certain "stimuli" in the way he learned to react growing up on Privet Drive. Snape is doing something a bit similar, only from the perspective of an adult. So when Harry asks Snape about his parents, Snape reacts as though someone is once again trying to injure him.
Perhaps that not where you meant to go with this, but it does seem to come out. Author's Response: Exactly, it was a bit of a knee-jerk response that Snape didn't even think about.
Author's Response: Glad you liked it. Thanks for the review!
Kinda makes you wonder what the sorting hat saw in Harry's mind, doesn't it? Poor Snape, again, talking to people who aren't there - I half expected a ghost or Peeves to wander by, "Talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity." Ha! Author's Response: The sorting hat won't come up again for a bit, I'm afraid. Snape doesn't really have anyone to talk to though, does he? I'm afraid all of the other profs dislike him because of his temperament and Slytherin nature.
I love how you made Snape translate Harry's behaviour in a negative way, as opposed to the generic Snape-takes-pity-on-Harry theme that seems to show up in all of the other stories of this particular genre. Fantastic story. Please update again soon. This is truly a wonderful read.
Author's Response: Yeah, all of the "oh well, Harry's being abused so he must not be like his father after all" stories drive me a bit crazy too. Glad you liked it, hope you like the next chapter too.

I hope you can update again especially quickly, because this was a great chapter that just begs for more. Snape's bitterness is so strong, it colors his perceptions and makes him sometimes blind to what's really going on with Harry. I'm looking forward to finding out what he does next. Also, I like the way you show Harry having strong potions ability (which Snape seems unable to admit that he could have got from a parent). And I like the way you show the difference in an intuitive ability in potions, and Hermione's "by the book" approach.
Author's Response: I'm having quite a bit of fun playing with the Potions aspect of the story. It really fits, because of Snape's profession and because it's a good way for the two of them to bond, a way for Snape to separate Harry from his parents, and I don't think that my version of Harry would dislike potions. He's interested in them and wants to study them, because he likes them in and of themselves and because he wants Snape's approval.
Author's Response: Definitely not pathetic, as long as you do things other than read fanfic on occasion ... you know, once or twice a month. :) I'm glad you're liking it though ... hope you like the next chapter as well.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review, I'm glad you've liked it. |
