i really liked this a lot poor mr gray though
i don't think harry should go to hogwarts when he's older, and i think snape should get a job somewhere else potions researcher, maybe so he can create and invent and improve he's not a good teacher, and he doesn't like it, which creates misery all around, and is especially unfair to kids who might otherwise have enjoyed and gone on to pursue potions anyway hogwarts allowing corporal punishment at all is to me actually the greatest sin and they fucking shouldn't no corporal punishment should be requirement #1 also what's wrong with day school?? two years is NOT long enough to get over abandonment issues anyway people at hogwarts terrify harry one of them left him with the dursleys another CANED him the fucking bitch i hope she's regretting every time she ever used it but hogwarts shouldn't have permitted it in the first place poppy is there but him liking and feeling safe around the school nurse is not enough when he'd be daily forced to interact with someone who caned him and constantly under the power of someone who scares him who he thinks will force him back to the dursleys given opportunity it's not a good environment for either of them, honestly snape still associates hogwarts with misery and bullying and being forced back to his own abusive household neither of them HAVE to stay! they can leave! i'm glad snape already thought about that.

snape i'd think you'd be able to recognize "terrified of the adult but trained not to back away" and "trained not to complain even if terrified of the adult" ffs the dursley's can wait you need to stop leaving harry alone with or having him in the same room as people who make him uncomfortable which is every adult except you and mr gray and maybe pomfrey
oh good he didn't even do that i was mistaken snape excellent choice i hope snape invites mr gray around for tea and uses him as a babysitter it would make mr gray feel more comfortable if he got to know snape and snape would feel better having someone living in physical proximity who could keep an eye on harry or get to him fast with whom harry would be likely to hang out rather than wander about and get hurt
i know snape thinks he's proving a point by tapping him lightly and then stopping but terrifying harry really isn't necessary and i'm worried that even if he uses that tactic what harry will remember is snape is willing to use the cane
