:/ now i feel bad for mentioning the shortness of the chapters. But this story is great, especially enjoy how Harry managed the students detention, didn't think Neville would have so much of an issue and thought Ron would have more. Hmm. I trust you to keep the story interesting. Nice of McGonagal? to give such good advice and using Harry's unique experience too. At the risk of detention Bloody Brilliant!

Going good so far, I like the Unsorted House though - it needs to return.

And what is Ron going to say??

Well, Draco will like it and yes, that was a completely impulsive gesture but it will shake up the houses still.

It helps for variety having Draco involved with Harry and Hermione and Ron. Snape is confused and Dumbledore is even more enigmatic than usual. Pretty good. Still doesn't explain why Draco was pulled exactly or why he'll be let back in.

Hmm, ") good chapter. I like that you left the letters as you worked through them. Gives insight into your process.

    Author's Response:

Thanks!  I like it when reality is useful to the story.  :D

Yes, I noticed that too - doesn't Dumbledore could be a Slytherin easily. I guess it works having Snape be mean under Imperious but not sure.

Have to wait and see I suppose. I do agree Harry plays everything close to his vest - ") No question about it. It is his natural skill, sheer luck, fate ...or eternal vigilance by Members of the Order that preserve the wizard world and allow Harry to still be alive. However, to steal a line from HPMoR - they could have solved all their problems by simply owling every Death Eater a hand grenade.

Or, in other words as a friend likes to query "What would Wolverine do?" Lol.

I wondered when Dumbledore was going to make his appearance, seems reasonable he was staying out of things because he's quietly pulling strings behind the scenes - a little surprising Snape or even Harry would allow themselves to be Imperius'd by even Dumbledore.

Hmm, I like when you make it comedic! This is going to be interesting, maybe Draco can convince his parents he was under compulsion....although he doesn't want Harry in Azkaban so not sure how he'll play it. His mother may be able to be bribed.
Title: TWENTY-NINE: Juxtaposition 07 Apr 2014 1:40 pm

Very comedic indeed! Snape would be properly horrified but nothing compared to what Lucius will say to Draco if he finds out. Probably Crucio Draco. Kind of awesome that Draco understands Hermione for just a moment.

Zipper is my favorite bit though - that and losing his custom robes!

    Author's Response:

Glad you enjoyed it; people had surprisingly violent reactions to this chapter.  "How could you make Draco get rid of his original clothing?  That's abuse!"  It is harsh, but certainly far less harsh than some of the other things that happen to the characters in this story, and I've often wondered why many people have had such a strong opinion on it.

It may be from my teen readers, who consider clothing more closely associated with identity than most adults do.  In that light, the others are saying that who Draco was ought to be destroyed: they are remaking him.  It's not just a makeover chapter, but an utter rejection of Draco's old identity.

Come to think, that's exactly what I DID mean it to symbolize.  Ginny wants Draco to reject his old, pureblooded way of looking at the world, and she's going from the outside, in.
