    i've been reading this story for awhile now, and it's really good.
    You've got snape wonderfully in character, expecially considering there is nothing to base a not horrid snape on.
    this last chapter was especially good, congrats, and keep writing

    Thanks, I'm glad you think I'm doing well with my portrayal of Snape!  But of course I always thought of him as awesome, so he's pretty easy to write as "not horrid".  And it doesn't hurt that Alan Rickman does such a great job of portraying him in the movies.

    Awwww! So cute, so sad, so heart-wrenching! You. Must. Update! If you don't, I'll be extreamly sad ;_;. PLEASE! Please update, I LOVE where you left it off, but now I'm also antsy about the next chapter. I will go insane having to wait -_-. This chapter was so emotional, poor Harry, poor Severus. This chapter was so beautiful!

    So the 'father' thing has been thrown out there, that should be interesting. Quite a shock for Severus, but I'm glad he knows now how Harry feels.

    I reread your story a little over Christmas and it was a great read again. I think it's interesting the way that you've introduced Severus's abusive past and managed to tie it in throughout the whole story as motivations behind his actions and thoughts. Many stories introduce this aspect of Severus's life to help bond him and Harry and then it's kind of forgotten. You should be congratulated on the way that you've really made that part of Severus realistic, and influence his feelings towards Harry nicely.

    Thanks for the great story, looking forward to the next chapter!

    I think Severus' past is a very important commonality between him and Harry, and I think it's important to keep it somewhat in the foreground.

     

    As for the drawing, yes, Snape was a bit stunned, but I think he handles it with aplomb, as you'll see in the next chapter!

    Of course Harry's emotions were all jumbled. Bless his heart that he finally figured out what had everything so jumbled. I'm sure he will be horrendously embarrassed to know that Snape found his drawing, but maybe it will speed things along for the two of them. I'm really eager to see how Snape handles the picture, too.

    I think the visit to the burn ward might have been a bit harsh, but definitely effective. I work in the ICU of our hospital and we sometimes get teenagers who have alcohol poisoning who are on ventilators until they sober up. You don't know how many times I've wanted to bring my kids in to see just what happens when you drink too much. I think that would be a pretty effective anti-alcohol campaign.

    Anyway, glad to see you're updating again. Thanks so much for the chapter. I really enjoyed it. Take care....

    Author's Response: You're very welcome, and thank *you* for the review.  Yeah, Harry is bound to be a bit confused emotionally.  He's been through a lot, and he's still very young.  Thankfully he has Snape there to help him :)

    What a mean cliffhanger! I love this story - you even had me crying a few times!!! It's touching without being overtly mushy, and you manage to keep up characters at least to a certain degree as this is an OOC Snape of course. Please keep up the good work - and thanx for the wonderful story!

    This chapter was just too adorable, and well worth the wait! I can't express enough how much I'm looking forward to the next chapter!! Good Luck Writing!

    This update was very soothing and it was great for Harry to have insight into his life, for Ron and Hermoine to understand Snape and Harry's relationship a little better, and for Snape to see how much he means to Harry. I'm really excited to see how different Snape acts towards Harry in the next chapter, as well as seeing the whole not speaking thing addressed...as you said, next chapter. I'll hold you to it!

    I like the story as a whole and I especially like the ending of this chapter. Finally Harry has written down the way that he feels and Snape has actually seen it. It will be interesting to read the next chapter. Also, what of the issue of Harry speaking?

    Author's Response: The issue of Harry not speaking will begin to resolve itself in the next chapter and finally come to a head in Chapter 23.  If all goes as planned.
