    I love this story. Harry has taken to Snape so well and I like the fact that you let Harry be child. Because, that is what he is, a child. Wanting to be picked up and the tantrum, they were all great. Update soon!

    Author's Response: See, you totally picked up on my "thing" about Harry.  I always felt, at least in the early books, that he was a bit too "old".  I like being able to let him be a child.  But I think in order for him to let go enough to do that he needs a strong adult in his life to take on a caregiver role.

    Wow this is a fantastic story, i really hope you update soon. I loved the last lines they made me cry :/ squee. Anyway keep doing what your doing, cant wait for the next chapter.

    You should have let Harry kick Dumbledore in the balls. The man is 150 years old but he still doesn't seem to know psychology, especially of children.

    To give Dumbledore a little credit, I think he gets the *other* children, but he expects something more - something too much - from Harry.  I think he does recognize this, which is why he acquieses to Severus' unspoken demand to be consulted on all future decisions regarding Harry.

     

    But yeah, he can be incredibly thick sometimes.  At least in my story, lol.

    Obviously your characters had quite a bit to get through! I think they just got caught up in the moment and the power wouldn't let them go until it was cauterized. Dumbledore has set them up quite nicely, hasn't he??? The smirk was sooooo telling. If he can't protect Harry due to his position and his need to use him, what better way than to get him the strongest, meanest wizard he can to do the job for him. In a way it's funny. Dumbledore is actually setting Harry up with someone who will even protect Harry from Dumbledore himself--at least to a point. Of course, he looses his best spy. And those Ravenclaws will be fierce enemy's in the future. A very exciting story you have here.

    Until it was cauterized.  That's an excellent way of putting it, thank you.  As for Dumbledore, you're pretty spot-on.  He recognizes - particularly after the Dursley's abuse is revealed - that his choices can be flawed, and that Harry needs as many people in his corner as he can get.  And yes, if that means they have to protect him from Dumbledore as well, that's a risk that must be taken.

    Lovely. I guess by this point, though, I'm wondering why Harry's throat is still so injured he still can't speak.

    Author's Response: Heh, fair enough.  Technically by my timeline (the one in my head) it's been two months.  But fear not, the people around Harry are about to ask that same question.  Probably in the next chapter.

    Such a lovely chapter.

    I loved these lines:

    And with that he stalked over to the boy to drive his message home. Dropping to his knees and gripping Harry's shoulders he stated slowly and clearly, "I do not want you to end up like me!"

    Two more tears dropped heavily down the boy's cheeks, now flushed red with emotion, and he sucked them in through his lips as if he could hide them.


    I'm glad you included this chapter. The loose ends can wait. lol. Great job :)

    Oh goodness. You've got me all choked up. I love that Severus is so protective of Harry now. My favorite line by far (even though I loved the whole chapter) was "And as he dried the tears of his worst enemy's child, Severus couldn't help but wonder when everything had changed." That was a wonderful closing sentence to the chapter, and that's the one that got me all teary-eyed.

    It's funny that you chose that line, because I added it at the very last second :)  It's sounds strange, but I'm glad it made you choke up, because I was going for very emotional this chapter.

    Poor Dumbledore. *Manages to laugh at him and feel bad for him at the same time*

    And such a heartbreaking line from Snape! 'I do not want you to end up like me!" *Sob* Sevy . . .

    Oh yeah, now I remember! Great chapter! Sevy's in 'Daddy mode' ^-^

    Severus: "I DO NOT have a 'Daddy Mode'!"
    Me: "Yes you do. Look, right there!"
    Severus: *Growls* "Foolish fan girls!" *grumbles*

    Me: "Tee hee. He likes it really." ^v^

    Oh! Will Harry make friends with the attacker that appologised? I kinda hope so. It would be big of him to do so AND it would nark Sevy off :p

    I'm not sure Snape would like the idea of having a "Daddy mode" but *I* totally agree with you :)
