Reviews For Reading the Signs
Author's Response: Yeah, it's definitely a wee bit out of character. But Harry isn't a teenager here. He's 11, and just halfway through his first year. I figure any OOCness can be explained away by the fact that they haven't had years of anger built up between them.
And yes, maybe even 11 is too old to be picked up in that manner, but Harry is a *small* 11. Plus, ultimately, though he doesn't realize he's doing it, he's looking for the moments he never had when he way younger.
Author's Response: Yeah, I think Snape has definitely reached a turning point with Harry, although it won't be smooth sailing the whole way. And yes, Dumbledore has good intentions, but rarely at the right time ;)
Thanks for the review.
Author's Response: Heh, yeah Snape is definitely wrestling with himself. I'm glad you like Harry, I'm trying very hard to keep him balanced.
Thanks so much for the update. It truly was a great chapter, and I look forward to the next. Author's Response: Hahaha, that little moment is one of my favourites too. Yeah, Dumbledore can be irritating with his twinkle and all, but I think SNape knows deep down that the Headmaster is right. Waaaay deep down.
Author's Response: Awww, thank you. We will learn the fate of the attackers very, very soon!
Author's Response: Thank you, I'm happy you liked it :) And yes, Snape's stepping up a bit, but he still has a ways to go yet.
. . . *random thought appears* I wonder what a 'potion iced lolly' would taste like. . . Author's Response: Heh, well he's already taken care of the Dursley's. Now Harry's attackers on the other hand...
""My dear child, you must understand something. I have been watching Harry at a distance for years; perhaps too much of a distance. He has always been a strong boy, keeping himself quiet and steady in the face of his relatives, not to mention trying to live up to everyone's expectations here at Hogwart's. "And I can tell you with the same degree of certitude that I avow your trustworthiness to the ministry, that Harry has never done anything like this before. He would never allow himself to take such a monumental risk."" I like that it acknowledges that DD kept his eye on Harry and noticed that Harry was handling things pretty well at home--and that he was a boy who protected himself as well as he could. It actually makes his acceptance of Snape stronger, as you point out. Author's Response: I'm glad you liked that part. I think Snape needed a third party who knows Harry (as well as anyone could) to point these things out to him.
Author's Response: Working on it ;)
That's it Snapey - go on and melt XD. You won't be able to hide behind your facade of he's-just-a-brat-and-I'm-just-doing-my-job forever, and when the time comes for you to finally realise that you are wrapped around Harry's finger you will feel lots better XD Author's Response: Hahaha Harry and I are chipping away at Snape's defenses piece by grumpy piece! And yes, by the time he realizes that he's let Harry into his heart it will be way too late ;) |
