I believe I might be a bit late to the party, but upon finishing this thrilling tale, I feel I must pay you my compliments. I have spent the last moth reading your dashing story--staying up late into the night in order to finish a chapter, biting my tongue to keep from laughing or shouting out in dismay, outrage or fright and waking up my parents--and I must say, I am happy to have read every word. Now, I think I shall take a break from reading, but I would like to say that I will begin A Summer Like No Other as soon as possible, with high expectations; expectations I'm sure you will fulfill. I sincerely hope you will continue writing in the future. You have quite a talent. Thank you for writing this and sharing it with all of us...thank you for this story like none other.
Harry "Godric" Potter--pretty funny! (Thank you for that image, Draco!) Another excellent chapter!
This is my favorite chapter in the whole story, maybe even the whole series, including the WIP last third of the "LNO" trilogy. From the hollers of "Snape! Now!" to the "Snape wouldn't lightly brush his lips against the scar on his forehead, would he? It was just the wuzziness of the potions making him feel warm and silly and happy, and well, not hated. Not hated at all", this chapter was full of the most positive feelings between the two of them that I've ever read anywhere. If I could give you a "50" for now and all time for this chapter, I would. Bravissima, caras (since Mercredi helped, too)!!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT STORY! I couldn't stop reading it-fantastically written, great beat, and very well thought out! I look forward to reading more of your stories!
Long before I even had much interest in this fandom, I was told - in no uncertain terms, I might add - that I *had* to read this fic. Now, do I see why.
Brilliantly done, with events and situations that were plausible, characters that were not only believable, but in-character, all cleverly woven together in a manner that was wholly satisfactory and thoroughly entertaining, I find myself wishing I had read this fic long before now.
Or, in more concise terms:
OMG! I LOVE THIS!!!!
And now off to the next one...
You do realize it took me 5 days to finish this wonderfully written story? Normally, it would only take me 3 days (about 30 chapters a day) to finish this. But this had so many plot twists and turns, that I am kind of disappointed that the second in this series isn't this long. Oh well... As Sev says, we can't have everything we want.
Anyway, for constructive criticism... I don't have much to say. My mum and I poured over this story. I think that you have a talent for writing. Go with it! I wanna read some of your books later on!

PS. Just remember, the many of us who have read AYLNO are your first and best fans.

Let me say that there are a LOT of authors that can't write "good" (for lack of a better term) torture scenes. You are not one of them. You have managed to give a idea of what Harry would be going through but at the same time you haven't made it too graphic - something which some authors can't seem to manage.
This story is really addictive. Based on what I've read so far you have done a really great job.
Author's Response: Thank you very much. My goal in the "Samhain" and "Burning" chapters was to focus on Harry's emotional state as much as possible rather than the gruesome things being done to him. I'm happy it wasn't too gruesome. I don't enjoy reading Harry-torture scenes and writing one was really difficult for me because I don't like to see him hurt, *sob*.

A cupcake! Thanks!-- NOW I can visualize the whole scene with the fairy cake! And you're right: fairy cakes DO sound as if they're part of the wizarding world. I'll add the term to my ever-growing repertoire of British vocabulary!

A quickie question before I plunge back into your AWESOME story(!)- What exactly is a fairy cake? Is it strictly your own creation belonging to the Harry Potter universe, or would I recognize it by a different name, like a petit four, for example? I keep trying to visualize Draco eating the poisoned monstrosity, bite by horrifying bite, and I'm still floundering with what the fairy cake actually looks like. Since I'd never heard the name before, I thought it might be a confection of your own creation...? THANKS if you get a chance to reply!!! :-)
Author's Response: It's a British phrase for cupcake. I couldn't resist using it, as it sounds so very wizardly. I imagine that fairy cakes cooked in the Hogwarts kitchens are fantastic creations with, say, miniature castles molded out of icing atop each... those are the kind I was thinking of as I wrote this chapter.
