Reviews For A Time and Place to Learn
I love it! Please update soon. Yours, Lady Julie Snape.
I like how you manage to capture little unexpected moments like the image of Snape's face at seeing Draco and Harry (probably slight dishevelled from their little scruff) going on a picnic, lol, it reminds me of that little scene (the best moment by far in you stories) where Snape tells Harry quite out of the blue, just before he gets on the train, that he is his son and that he loves him. Arh. Looking forward to more. Cecilia :)
"We're going on a picnic, all of us," Harry announced recklessly. It was best sight ever, the look on Snape's face - that mix of shock and surprise and disbelief and everything else the stern man tried to keep under control, all there on his face. "Have a nice day," Harry smiled at Snape. LOL! The only thing is that the scene skip between when Draco roared that he would not go on a picnic, and the scene where he and Harry are ready could have been developed a little more. The skip is too brood, and makes them seem out of character. Now, if you had shown them beginning to fight, I think it would have brought to mind the other time they fought and came out okay with each other and then the scene jump wouldn't have felt like such a leap. I'm glad that the DA meeting went well. Great descriptions of when Malfoy took Harry's glasses. It was scary. I hope that Snape comes up with something to fix that - maybe fix his eyesight and wear the glasses with clear lenses so people THINK that his eyesight is still bad? Great chapter, and thanks for the update!! Author's Response: Thanks for your comments. I thought about showing that scene, but I thought it would be repetitive of all the fighting scenes that came before both in this story and its prequel. Also, in my writer's group, we were talking about gaps in stories where the reader's imagination must fill in the missing pieces. I was trying to do that - put some of the work on you to figure out what happened, but if it seemed too big a gap, I understand. Thanks - it's these observations that help me grow as a writer. Perry
