Reviews For O Mine Enemy
Author's Response: Thank you!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It was fun to write, and I'm glad you were surprised even though it wasn't all surprising! :)
Author's Response: Thank you!! Your praise means the world to me! :)
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I really think that Harry would have reacted a LOT differently if he'd found out at the beginning of the story. He's grown, but even more, his opinion of Snape has grown. I think he's smart enough to tell the difference between the man Snape used to be and the man he is, so I went with that. Thanks for the potion! It came in handy! :)
About covid19 - in Poland we don't have very many confirmed cases yet [3503] but there are more new cases every day, and the growth rate is speeding up. 17 percent are medical staff which is the worst ratio in Europe. We've been on increasing lockdown for three weeks, and the economy is on the verge of collapse. And yet the most important thing for our autocrative government is making the presidential elections happen without delay [10th May], the latest idea is vote by post only [ran by parliament and added to the election codes by 6th May at the earliest. As for my situation, I'm incredibly lucky to live in a house with garden, away from other people. I'm worried about my job, I work online, but already half my hours have been cut. Stress all around, recently I had a throat ache and it made me really anxious even though I ruddy know I had no contact. Madness, eh? Author's Response: Yeah Voldy really needs to get in touch with emotions and realize that sometimes he shares things that hurt his cause. Also, he's not great at inspiring loyalty in his followers right now, with his coocoo craziness. It IS madness! Thanks for the insight into things in Poland. I'm sorry you have to deal with all that stress! Interesting about the elections. I wonder how much is going to change after this? I can see a big shift towards remote work and online communication in more and more areas. Please stay healthy - take care of yourself and do lots of stress-reducing activities! I live in the southwest US, and things are varying state by state. There are about 4,000 cases / 150 deaths in my state, and the governor has been both cautious and relaxed about things. We're under a Stay at Home order, but they're not enforcing it by law. Still, almost everyone I know is abiding by it. At least it helps that where I live is pretty spread out, so it's not too difficult to maintain social distance.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It's such a strange time, isn't it? I'm so happy that we have fanfiction during social distancing. ;) Thank you for reading and stay safe!
I love how the relationship between Harry and Snape has developed so organically, and both of them seem in character. You perfectly convey that Harry is a bit of an annoying teenager who has his heart in the right place, and Snape is rough on the outside but really cares about his charge. The character development is just so captivatingly well done. There is so much weight in everything they say and even more in everything that is not said. I am also so impressed by how you have managed to make the scope of the war feel large. Often times it seems like the Order's only job is protecting Harry, but in this fic I truly get a sense that this is a war and the Order has many parts to it. Likewise, Voldemort wants to get Harry, but he also has other goals. It makes everything feel higher stakes and more real. I am so excited to see what happens next! Personally, I am hoping that Harry uses some of those new legimancy skills to take a peek into Snape's mind and get the whole story. Then, hopefully he throws everyone for a loop when he refuses to kill him. You are a great story teller. I am so invested. I could go on about this all day. Stay safe in this crazy time! Author's Response: Hi! Thank you so so much for your review! You know, I never thought this story would be this long. Then I realized that if I wanted their relationship to feel natural as it progressed, I was going to have to drag it out and approach the progression of the plot more organically. I'm so happy to hear that you think it worked well! Also, I know in my own reading, I appreciate when you get the sense that the rest of the world doesn't revolve around the main characters. It makes things feel more real. So yay that you like that part of the plot too! :) Thank you thank you and I hope you stay safe too! The world went crazy, didn't it??
Great writing as usual, keep going and stay safe. Author's Response: I think you know Harry pretty well! Yeah, it really is different now, isn't it? Harry of even one month ago probably would have dissolved into rage. Now though... Will it be better because he knows of the letter, etc? Or will it be worse because he thought they'd built some trust between them? Only one day to find out! :D How are things in your corner of the world? My state issued a stay-at-home order earlier in the week, but I don't know how seriously people are taking it because 1) they as much as said they're not doing anything to enforce it and 2) I haven't left my house in almost 2 weeks, so I'm kind of unaware of what's going on out there. ha. It's such a weird time!!! Be well!
This, this is like being under one of Antonio Vivaldi's rainstorms. Please just get Severus and harry the hell out away. gone from that horrible man-thing. I have never had to read such a long torture of these two .. enough. Time for peace and safety. I admit everyday life is gruesome enough now in Europe with corona. All over the world. the low-key fear in isolation, my life, and the controlled panic in hospitals is just.... and it could have been spared us all, if Big Pharma didn't shut down scientists in 2004. they had the vaccine for sars.. I hate selfish greedy capitalism Couldn't you have a squadron of aurors come dashing in - like Douglas Fairbanks Jr. or Gene Kelly as the best Mousquetier. Severus needs saving. Author's Response: Aw, I know. Those poor boys have to be captives of an evil raging lunatic wizard just as the world devolves into a pandemic apocalypse. It really is poor timing. Well, their ordeal is not over yet, but we're progressing steadily toward a resolution of their current difficulties. Let's hope the real world does the same! Hang in there and stay safe in your part of the world!!
Author's Response: Thank you! :) |
