Reviews For Walk the Shadows
It's nice to see the relationship blossoming between Severus and Harry. I love protective Severus, and I think he and Harry are very good for one another, which brings me to the next point--when Severus chuckled at something and Harry noticed how he'd been more relaxed lately. I'm sure it's a huge relief for him not to have to spy for Voldy any longer, but I believe that Harry is the main reason Severus is enjoying life a bit more. Severus has indeed done a great deal for Harry the past weeks, but Harry is giving him back something, too. Something more ephemereal, perhaps. But I think Severus will learn a lot about love and forgiveness and friendship from Harry. It was great to see Harry and Remus getting along well again, too, and I'd love to see Harry and Dumbledore coming face to face again, and Harry meeting with his friends. A lot of people would be a bit awkward around someone who's suffered as Harry has, but I have faith in Ron and Hermione and their love for Harry. And of course, I'd love to see lots more of Harry and Severus. Lots and lots more! So yes, I'm really hoping there's going to be a sequel!
This chapter was superb - Harry's last line made me squee in joy!! I am both nervous and cautiously optimistic about the beginning of the school year - I think it will probably be awful, both I'm hoping Harry will be able to face up to it - with Severus' help of course!! I'm glad Harry had a chance to think about how he would respond to any tormenting and that he realized that he shouldn't really become like his enemies, but instead take the high road, which is a very very difficult, even challenging (Ha!) think to do!! I'm also glad Harry that Harry is getting back on track with Remus, because I'm afraid he's going to need all the help he can get, and I'm a little worried about Ron and Hermione's reactions when they learn what Harry's been through - you seem to be foreshadowing that they'll still be Harry's friends (from the letters), but I think there's a lot of awkward moments coming between them all before things settle down again!! So much about this chapter made me smile. Severus calling Harry 'his little Slytherin'! How cute. And then telling him to come 'home' early if he needed to. And then Harry saying 'Hi, I'm home' at the end. All of these things and others made me grin wildly throught this chapter. It was great. I'm glad Harry got the chance to have a normal sort of conversation with Remus. And I'm wondering when Harry is going to have to see Dumbledore again and apologise? That shall be interesting. Harry seems to be moving in leaps and bounds at the moment. Well kind of, but things seem to be steadily improving for him. I like the routine that him and Severus seem to have fallen into, it's lovely. Looking very much forward to the next chapter! All the best!
By the way, I think I tried to write a review this morning when I was at work (it was before 7:00...the memory is vague. lol) and somehow it deleted. Anyway, I had said that I would love a sequel. In fact, I'm begging you for a sequel!! I would have been in a right state of panic at the words "the end" so I'm glad you gave fair warning in the chapter end notes :)
djsalkdjaslkdjsa That line made me squeal. It's like their relationship is finally working the way it should and their personalities are finally clicking. .. It helps that Snape isn't as gitty as book!Snape and Harry isn't as whiny as book!Harry, but you know. =P This is one of the most interesting fics I've read wherein Harry gets raped or beaten/mauled in some way. I've read others where he turns into this little girly boy that freaks out at every single touch and word and look, and I'm glad you're having him actually recover from his traumatic past. Also: If there's no sequel, I'll cry. For serious.

Snape's eyes narrowed, and he crossed his arms over his chest, leaning back in the chair. "I shall allow you one letter from each, my little Slytherin. And then you will finish your essays." "I hope that was meant to be a compliment," Harry said. The one eyebrow went up. "Indeed." Love this bit, actually I loved the entire thing, the banter between Harry and Severus is totally awesome. Glad to see that Harry and Remus have started to get back to where they were before disaster struck. I think a sequel is an awesome idea, maybe based on their lives together when Harry is able to start classes again, or maybe their first summer together. Just a few ideas, keep up the awesome work, looking forward to the update. LES |
