Ok, I'm happy that Dumbledore realizes that Harry has gone through more than he expected and that he won't push Harry to improve, but don't you think you're a little too late, Dumbledore? Especially after this incident, there is no way that Harry is going to be able to go back to class on time. I'm glad that Dumbledore told Minerva everything that he saw/felt from Harry's memories. I relly hope that we get to see a scene where Harry opens up with Severus and tells him everything that has happened, maybe just then he can be helped easier. I'm grateful that Severus and Harry have the relationship they do, though which is made only more real by your excellent characterization with Dumbledore in this chapter too! It was perfect and I hope that he has truly learned his lesson--although I'm pretty sure Harry's made his point. Update before the weekend!

I've really, really, really enjoyed this chapter. I am of the opinion that Dumbledore gets a free pass way too often. I have to say that he gets his comeuppance in spades in this, and I'm petty enough to enjoy that immensely. Doesn't say too many nice things about me, but we all have our cross to bear :) I'm looking forward to more of the Snape/Harry dynamic, I like how Snape is still . . . . Snape.

Well, Albus did deserve it didn't he, leaving his mental conduit open like that then stoking Harry's fire with callous words. Nicely done, I liked MInerva's part int his too.

Wow...you followed the event up perfectly. Of course Harry would be affected too...I didn't even think about his condition. Harry punishes himself more than anyone else could. I'm glad Severus is understanding. Will they work on controlling anger...or is that even possible?

It's odd how a weakened Dumbledore can make even a reader feel uncomfortable. It reminded me a bit of HBP where Dumbledore and Harry were trying to get the locket. You just always expect Dumbledore to be such a strong, static character.

So the memories Harry pushed into Dumbledore's mind were just of the Dursleys? Will we find out what he saw?

This was such an excellent chapter.

Wow, this story is going in a new direction. I don't like that Harry did that to Albus, pretty much because I have a soft spot for him. I know Harry's had a tough time. I just hope Albus is alright. I liked the last line about leaving Severus to decide when Harry should come out of the dungeons more. Wise indeed.

So how did Harry do all that without it being Leglimency? Or is he a natural or something? Or was it just that he used the link Albus had already created? Interesting.

It's kind of starting to seem that Harry will not be ready to go back to school when it starts. Not that I'm surprised. I even think it could make an interesting story, having him still recover when school starts again. They shouldn't rush him, it will just make it harder in the long run.

Thanks for the fast updates, love them! Hope you have fun writing the next one. See you then!

OMG! Hehehe. He shared too much info to Dumbledore! Personally I think Dumbledore is a sly, manipulative old man who only used Harry as a tool for defeating Voldemort. But now I feel sorry for him since he's seen all of Harry's suffering. Good update! Please keep writing!

    Best regards,
    Jonathan

I knew it would be Wednesday (see it's still wed. pst!) I was holding out, hoping for an update, and what did I find?! Well, anyway, to review:

I enjoyed this chapter, it was a great wrap up to what occurred in the last one. Especially since Snape was all "snapy", being angry and snapping at everyone. But he is still lucid and able to respond quickly to the situation. (I say very in character Snape and most enjoyable to read...) Some stories go a little overboard with the angry Snape and have him overreact and make mistakes all the time. You balance out is anger/rashness with keeping Snape functional/cool. I'm rambling... hopefully you get what I'm trying to say.

I also liked Harry's reaction. I'm glad he's all horrified at what he did (although I think Dumbledore got what he was asking for (sorta)... even though no one really deserves to suffer).

Dumbledore's reaction was also good. I'm glad he's decided to give Harry and Snape some space. Minerva was good too... Hmmm that's all your characters right? Well the chapter was all around good, so that makes sense.

Again, I can't wait for an update. But as I'm reading all your stories, I suppose I'll be okay. (And there's no crazy cliffy this time!) I hope you enjoyed this semi-long review, even if it's a bit rambly... and happy writing.

Okay, so don't hit me, but I have a *really* hard time believing that Harry could forcefully hold a Legilimentic connection open against Dumbledore's will, no matter how outraged he (Harry)is. Actually, given the fact that as far as I know Harry isn't even a Legilimens, I wonder how he was able to make the attack at all. It's not like Legilimency establishes a permanent conduit, so it doesn't make much sense to me that he could attack back along the connection that Dumbledore had initiated, once he'd closed it.

And even Harry, who is only a beginning Occlumens, was able to shove Snape, a *very* accomplished Legilimens, out of his mind. How much more so Dumbledore, who's expert at both disciplines?

It certainly is intense, though, and I'm glad Remus and Harry had a chance to apologize to each other before the shite hit the vortex. And Snape's response to the 'good news' is typically Snapeish in its understatement. One hopes 'fully addressing' Harry's admittedly 'horrific lack of judgment' doesn't involve bloodshed, though I'm resigned to the expectation of copious buckets full of angst. Of course, Horrific Lack of Judgment could be Harry's middle name, couldn't it?

Annette (who's glad it's Wednesday, but wishes it were Friday, even though she knows it's folly to wish away time)

    Author's Response:

Horrific Lack of Judgment could be Harry's middle name, couldn't it?

Yeah it totally could!  Hmmm, maybe he needs to be adopted, just so they can change his name to that.  ;-)  And I understand your concern about Dumbles and the Legilimency issue.  All Will Be Explained, I promise.  See you soon; I'm bringing donuts!
