    I wasn't going to review this chapter, but who can pass up eclairs and cocoa? Just kidding. Snape reminds me a bit of a kid in a toy store, eyes wide with wonder. Instead, his eyes are opened more and more with each revelation of who Harry truly is. It's a bit fun watching as all of his preconceptions come crashing down around him. And this is only the first year.

    I love seeing the level of involvement Snape has with Harry being in his house. He still clearly has a lot of preconceptions that he's holding onto, or at least he's hanging on to the feelings he had about Harry while he still held to those first assumptions.

    I'm looking forward to seeing how a lot of the events in the Fall work out in this story, with Snape dealing with Harry instead of McGonagall.

    And then there's the home visit. Considering Snape already knows that the Dursleys must have been abusive, what does he hope to gain from the home visit? Just how awful can the Dursleys behave around Snape? It sounds like maybe Vernon killed the owl. If he's willing to kill a Hogwarts owl, he's obviously going to be pretty irate at having an actual Hogwarts professor visit. And will Petunia remember Severus?

    One of these days I'm gonna take you up on your promises -- and I'll gain x-amount of weight, but I'll be happy with all my eclairs, and cocoa, and frappaccinos, so I think I'll be okay ;)

    I really enjoyed this chapter. I'm still not sure of Severus's movitive behind being a git to Harry, even though he's starting to see Harry for who he really is (well, kinda) and that he's a damaged child. But, I still liked it. Very Snape. So good for you for keeping in character!

    Amazing! Update uber soon! I just had a quick question: Why is this part of the A Boy Called Whelp series? It says the Whelp II-- The Wrath of Snape precedes this? Is that true? Will you tie the stories together in some way?

    Author's Response: I don't know why, that was really weird.  I know I didn't *add* it to the series, and now I've removed it, so it should be fine.  Alas, no, I shall not be tying this story to that series.  My apologies for the confusion . . . and thanks for the review!  --rachel

    Great chapter. I loved every word of it :) The scene with Lucius was really interesting. I'm curious to see how that unfolds.

    Wow. I really feel bad for those owls that Snape sent off to the Dursleys ... it sort of reminds me of this story I read once by Roald Dahl where this woman murdered her husband with a frozen leg of lamb and then cooked it and served it to the policement who came to investigate.

    ... Morbid XD But not like the Dursleys would eat the owls or anything though I'm not putting it above them to kill them :C

    I like how being in Slytherin hasn't changed Harry at all really, and I'd like to think that he probably (hopefully) won't change all that much. Snapey being all like USE INFORMATION AGAINST EACH OTHER and totally chanelling Mad-Eye Moody is cool, though I'd like to think that Harry probably knows what it's like to be embarrassed and ridiculed and [hated] so is loathe to you know do the same.

    Yeah just some random musings XD And awesome chapter, btw. Can't wait for the final Snape-Dursley confrontation C:

    Excellent chapter! So when will Snape be visiting the Dursleys? I'm certainly looking forward to that!

    Author's Response: Snape's waiting to hear back from the Dursleys, but since, as we know, they won't be sending a response, I'd say he probably gives them another week at the outside before he shows up.  Thanks for the review!

    Sorry Malfoy, but you have just been demoted from possible friend to head noob again.

    But WHY oh WHY did Snape have to go mention that whole 'ungrateful body' thing in front of Malfoy? SOMETIMES YOU ARE SOOO STUPID, SNAPEY. Well, unless of course this information inspires a complete character change in Malfoy, in which case I suppose I won't mind it as much XD
