I'm really enjoying this story. I like your style of writing which is something I'm really picky about...at least that's what I'm told! It's also unusual for me to be reading Gen fic but I just can't put it down!

Keep up the good work. And soon please! *giggle*

Well, I waited and waited thinking this would be updated, but it has been 2 months now. Any idea on when you might update? Or are you leaving this fic?

I don't know how I didn't see this story, though I do remember reading the first one. I really like this. My only problem is that I'm not horribly fond of present-tense. Most of the time, though, I'm not noticing it in your story. It's really well done. Your Severus is great, and I like your portrayal of Luna. She's very much underused, both in canon and fanon. It's nice to see her here.

Wow, I just found this story and "The Guiltless" this afternoon - and I couldn't stop reading. What a wonderful way to spend a snowy afternoon! Thank you so much for writing these - I love your characterization of Snape. You show his caring side and his struggle with that, while still retaining his all-too-human rough edges. Thank you again and I look forward to the next update

I absolutly love this series! You're character thoughts and comments are both very funny, and very emotional. I love you're ideas of how things went that have a connection in the storey, like Severus/Lily and Luna's past and home-life, it sounds so logical! I really enjoy reading the Snape, Harry and Luna interaction, it is very plausible and entertaining to read. Please, please, please post the next chapter soon, before I die of impatience and sadness of waiting so long. *puppy-dog eyes* I promise another great review if you post soon!

I am in the process of rereading this bit by bit, and was going to comment at the current last chapter, but this one just blew me away, from the line You have assumed the mantle of my soul's guardian and the painfully accurate identification of of Vernon Dursley's predatory nature to your skillful handling of Harry's dreams and Snape's reaction thereto: "Harry," he says, "you can stay with me. I won't put you in a cupboard. I won't hurt you. You are not a freak."

The bit about the asphodel is also revealing. A type of lily... and knowing Jo, it's very likely that she knew the plant's significance when she picked it for the scene. I love how you work in all these poignant details. In terms of the whole story, your use of the present tense is clear and masterful and your language apt and uncompromising throughout. Well done.

    I have to tell you,
I have never been a huge fan of Severus mentoring Harry or even the whole Severitus genre...
    And I never...and I mean NEVER read WIP's.
But your story has touched me.
I sat down at 10:30 tonight and started reading.
It is now 1:22 and I just got to the end of this chapter.
I love it, especially your writting style. How it's knowledgable about what the characters are thinking but told from an outsiders perspective. I've tried writing like that before and I just couldn't manage.
I sure do hope you update soon.
I can't wait to read the rest.

Please update soon; I look forward to the latest installment of this tale like I do to few other things.

I admire the way you write Snape; whatever else he may be feeling, you never forget that he is a Slytherin. After seven years in that common room, his mind is wired a certain way, and it shows through his every action and turn of phrase. It is far from a bad thing; I suspect that quite often, that same mentality would be the only thing keeping Harry, Luna, and himself alive and whole. The way he artfully deflects suspicion while punishing his house is testament to that.

The ending is very appropriate, very real. Neither Snape nor Harry have changed fundamentally as people; you remind us just how short a time has passed in the story.

Your writing style is amazingly fluid and subtle, filled with layers of meaning, should one choose to look that far. There has not been a single chapter in this work that did not contain a moment where my breath caught in my throat, or a shiver went down my spine.

Please write more; I would hate see one of my favorite fanfics remain forever a work-in-progress!

    Yr obt svt,
    Aethyr
