    Great, great chapter!! Wonderful interaction between Harry and Sev. I love Harry's physicality...so incredibly realistic childish mannerisms. You capture beautifully that twitchy restless energy and stream-of-conscious blurting out that so many 12-yr-old boys exhibit! Favorite line: "You're not going to pass out, are you? You look funny." I burst out in a wild laugh and scared the cat.

    Thank you so much for your kind words!  I do write quite a twitchy little Harry, but I there were moments like that in the books that just made me connect with his character because it was so realistic.  Twelve is actually a very young age, as I discovered when I was around my twelve-year-old cousin for a week when I babysit for her and her brother last summer.  I know that Harry is used to relying on himself a lot, but in this story, since he's got Snape, he's able to just be the kid that he never really got to be.  Sometimes, anyway ;) 

    And I do have to admit that writing a frustrated, on-the-verge-of-a-migraine Severus in this chapter was probably the most entertaining of all. lol. 

    Anyway, thanks again for the wonderful review!  As always, I'm thrilled to see that you're still reading and enjoying my story :)

    Hello, I just wanted to say that I really love this story, though this is the first review I've left for it since for some reason it wouldn't let me post them until I became a member. Anyhow, keep up the great work, I love your Sev & Harry!

    Great chapter to a great story. One question: is Harry catching a cold, or is it just exhaustion? Well I can't wait to see what happens next.

    Author's Response: Hm...Are you referring to Harry when he couldn't go back to sleep and was shivery?  If so, that was mostly due to his restless thoughts about the basilisk.  But to answer your question, no, he's not catching a cold ;)  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing this chapter!

    Ooo, good chapter! I like the way your version of events is unfolding. It does seem a bit hard to believe that none of the profs would have thought of a basilisk, in the original version. And I really like your harry-snape interactions in this chapter.

    Also this struck me as particularly well-phrased: "...the accusatory tone that was trying to punch its way out of Harry’s throat again" - what a pithy description of how it feels to struggle to keep your voice calm when you're angry!

    I agree with you about no one being aware of the basilisk in CoS!  How in the world could Hermione be the only one to figure it out?  lol.  Oh, well...  I guess that's what fanfic is for ;) 

    I'm so glad you appreciated the Snape/Harry interaction!  I do try to always keep them in character while slowly building their relationship. 

    And thanks so much for picking out a particular line in the story!  That really helps me know what sort of descriptions work well and are vivid in the reader's mind.  :)

    More great Harry/Severus bonding. Thanks for the update. The end had me snickering when Harry all but rolled his eyes at Snape for droning on and on about rules and such. I am loving their blossoming relationship. Snape slowly teaching Harry self control and Harry learning to trust an adult to take care of him. Though I don't know that if asked Harry would know that's what it is. Snape is more consious of his role although the full extent when it comes to things like *shudders* caring and other mushy things like that are still over his head.

    Oh, yes, I am quite the Bonding Queen of Fluff when it comes to this story....sometimes. ;)  I try to keep the sweet moments in this fic as subtle as possible, because sometimes I just can't stand the snuggly stuff.  lol. 

    You're definitely right about both Harry and Snape being slightly unaware of their growing relationship.  They haven't really stopped to realize how much they depend on and care for each other.  But I guess that would be too perfect if Snape just took Harry home and made him tea and cookies...  We'd love it, but so much for the realism.. ;)

    ahh that was so great. I love how Severus is still himself while really playing the concerned guardian for lack of a better term. Looking forward to their meeting with the headmaster, and what will happen with the basilisk. Keep up the awesome work and please update again soon. LES

    I really love that last part that Harry wants to just stick his fingers in his ears to stop listening to Snape. That just really cracked me up! LOL

    I love how caring (yes, caring, you big bat!) Snape has become. He's really starting to mellow out, that one.

    I'm really glad he told Harry that it is not his responsibility to save the school and that even with his scar, he is still normal and just a child, sort of thing. Very good of Snape. (good boy, Snape).

    Hermione was fun in this too. You do well with her characterizations.

    Great chapter. I really enjoyed! Now, where is SFS? LOL :oP

    I figured our little Harry would get undeniably sick of hearing Snape's voice every once in a while, but I think he knows better than to actually cover his ears...lol.  I loved the "Good boy, Snape" part of your review...it made me laugh outloud, so thanks for the humor ;)  Hermione is very fun to write, so I'm glad you enjoyed her in this chapter! 

    I promise I'll update SfS very soon!  My energy is getting sucked away by this fatigue, and even though I conquered it today to finish this chapter, I still had to barricade myself in my room (literally), it's still kicking me right in the butt. lol.  But SfS is up next.  I promise!  I love that you enjoy that story.
