Reviews For Lily's Charm
Author's Response: Actually there is an orifice that leads into the aorta from the lower left chamber of the heart, but that's besides the point. :oP Orifice can mean opening and I was trying to illustrate that all the parts of his heart are being filled...all the openings that had been empty. And I tend to take the idea of poetic license pretty seriously. ;o) Glad you enjoyed the power of the chapter. This was a really fun one to write. Thanks for reviewing.
Now, for this final chapter...that has such a bittersweet ring, doesn't it?...there are so many parts I loved. Actually, I loved the whole thing, but here are some of the highlights... Severus managed to stay with Harry's soul and was able to bring him back! That is such a huge relief. It's nice to know that their loved ones are waiting and that death is nothing to fear when the time comes, but it wasn't time for either of them yet. They both still have so much ahead of them in life to enjoy together first. I loved that Voldie is gone! Yay! As Severus pointed out at the end, Harry's life is his own now (well, kind of...I think Severus and Ginny are both going to stake their claims from here on out) and he's safe. Until the sequel, that is. Remus lived, too! Good for Tonks, saving the day like that! I'm so glad. They deserve their chance at happiness and building a life together, and if Remus had died, I don't think Harry could have ever seen the battle as a victory, even if Voldemort was defeated. I'm glad Severus gets to keep his friend, too. I'm glad how things worked out with the Malfoys. Malfoys will be Malfoys, I suppose. Not really good guys, but not completely evil. I'm glad Lucius stayed true to the deal, and I can understand Draco's actions, though he still deserves some comeuppance, methinks. The whole ending scenes were just beautiful, especially with Harry and Severus. I loved those end lines, when Harry said he was Severus' and Sev agreed. I love how far they've both come, how much they love one another, and how tender they can be with one another. It's just perfect and I can't wait to see what you've got planned next for our favorite guys! Brilliant work, Tabitha! Author's Response: Thanks Kristeh! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it so much. YAY I can't believe it's over, but it's not really as the sequel is gonna be revealed soon. I am very excited. Voldy is gone and it's about time. Remus is alive. I love him too much to kill him. LOL Malfoys are Malfoys, it's true. You'll just have to wait and see what I have in store for them. I'm glad you enjoy the moments between Harry and Severus. I do as well. I just love them. :o)
Author's Response: Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it.
And, omg, you saved Remus!! Here you had everyone throwing tomatoes at you and shouting obscenities...and you didn't kill him after all. LOL. Bless you. This line made me tear up: "You made Harry laugh, Severus wanted to tell him, but his face remained passive." There's something so simple and innocent in that statement that makes me absolutely adore Severus in this fic. Remus made his son happy...and that alone was enough to make Severus appreciate him, despite anything that happened in the past. Loved it! And then, of course, my absolute favorite part of this chapter was the scene where Harry was wriggling down into the couch trying to get comfortable with Severus telling him that he'd better listen to his orders or else...lol. That was great. And the small details that you included in that scene....Harry turning his face away into the sofa pattern...his agitated movements as he took his glasses from Severus... It was all very vivid, and I commend you for perfecting such a scene :) I have this *image* in my head of Sirius in SfS, so every time I read ANYTHING about Sirius dying or Harry feeling guilty over his death, I get ridiculously emotional. And I'm sure that I would have felt the same way if Severus would have died in this, considering you created such a wonderful tenderness between Harry and him. But you didn't. And I love you for that. Even though I knew you wouldn't kill him off... *tacklehugs you* For a second time. Oh, I almost forgot. I loved the way Harry was trembling against Severus and then how the man would pull him against his side... So lovely. And I adored the fact that Harry didn't seem like some sort of brave hero in this story. Of course, he's still Harry, but we see that boyish quality in him that makes him so easy to realte to. And I know I've said that before, but I guess I just said it again. lol. Overall, this story is just fantastic. This is the first story I've read where the writer created a calm, loving Severus who is still vastly in character. This is exactly how I would imagine him acting if he had a son. And the sweet moments were just perfect. Not overdone at all. Just completely satisfying and realistic. I loved them. Of course. And now, what else to say but GET BUSY ON THAT SEQUEL!! lol. Thanks for a jewel of a story. And congrats, again, on its completion. Author's Response: Thanks Jade! I'm glad you enjoyed my ending. It was very satsifying, I have to admit. Of course I didn't kill remus. I love him too much. And yeah, I love this Severus as well. He's rough around the edges but deep inside, he can love. And he loves Harry and therefore, someone like Remus is all right by him. YAY LOL I really liked writing the two of them gently snarking at each other. That scene with Harry on the sofa was realy fun. Yeah Sirius dying is really hard. I love and adore Sirius, even more since SFS. So thanks for that, Jade! I'm glad you liked my take on Harry. He's definitely just a boy. Not a hero. Sure, he's brave as a Gryffindor but he's just a boy all the same. And I think he's allowed even more so to just be a boy because of having Severus in this story. I am so giddy that you say my Severus has been in character and yet he's calm and loving. It's all been getting back to the point he was with Lily all those years ago. He lost himself and then through this relationship with Harry, he's found again. Redeemed. Okay, getting busy! Well, actually I'm really sick so not really. *ducks head* Thanks so much Jade for all your excitement for this story. :o) And now, I must ask: Where's my SFS? :oP
Severus and Harry really did it :) (and they are so cute together :))) Author's Response: They really did it! YAY! I'm glad you didn't miss the end and yeah, I think they are pretty cute, those two. :o) Thanks for all your reviews this story and so glad you've enjoyed it.
Author's Response: Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it. And yep, it is a stand alone story, with a nice happy ending. A sequel is not necessary but it will be fun! Thanks so much for the review. :o)
10. Lucius redemmed himself. That he made the list is saying alot for me because I detest the man. But maybe I detest him a little less after this. 9. Tonks and her brilliance at playing Draco and hitting Remus with that spell. I never, ever, ever saw that coming and it was pure brilliance, OE. 8. Albus destroyed two more Horcruxes. I'm concerned about the remaining ones out there, but we'll celebrate these at least. 7. Poppy and her calming draught. Poor Harry really needed it. "Sleep makes everything better" is Poppy's mantra and it's a damn good one too. I'm adopting it. 6. Severus and Ron. Enough said. 5. Severus and Remus and the fact they are "officially" friends. Enough said. 4. Tonks sitting in Remus' lap. Just because I like the visual. 3. Remus and his "not assisting" remark. AND THE FACT HE WASN'T DEAD. I got my werewolf back, and he retained his sense of humor. 2. Severus keeping part of his soul in place so he could bring Harry back. I want that man....he's mine. Everybody back away. I've staked my claim. 1. Sev and Harry lived and Lily's Charm worked! Toot the party horns! Throw the confetti! And we get a sequel! (Dies of happiness on the floor...then gets reserected by something not nearly so cool as Lily's Charm, but I'll take what I can get so I can read the sequel). Oh, but those nasty question marks will not go away anytime soon. Why did James and Lily block Harry's entrance to the afterlife when Severus was allowed weeks before? How did Voldemort find out where they were? Why is Harry cold all the time? And most importantly...what is the significance of the dreams of angry Sirius? Oh, the anticipation....give me room everybody - I'm pulling the ribbon and opening the package. Don't anyone try and stop me. Of course, it goes without saying that LC's last hug from me goes to OE! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this most wonderful story and all the hours of entertainment you have given me, the inspiration for the art - which woke up something in me that I didn't even realize was sleeping - and for the anticipation of the upcoming sequel. No way I'm leaving this fun ride! {{{{HUGS}}}}}} And a whole container ship load of chocolate. Author's Response: Yay, I get a hug! I get a hug! I won't answer your questions any more than I already have, well just because even with Ex-Moldy love gone, I am still evil. *shrug* 1. Lily's Charm worked! YAY 2. Severus was going to do everything to get Harry home again, and he did! HE's the best. 3. LOL Remus is a bit miffed that he missed all the fun. LOL 4. Tonks and Remus....awwww. 5. They are friends! Did you notice that they hold one another's gaze? YAY 6. I love Ron. He's such a thick idiot. LOL 7. I love Poppy. 8. No more Horcruxes. YAY 9. Don't you just love Tonks! No way she's letting anyone hurt her man! 10. Lucius is actually pretty much the same as Sev. He loves his son. Tonks said it right. "The man's a #@$@$, but he knows his son." Yep. He did it all for Draco and Narcissa. Sure, he's a jerk, but hey, at least he loves his family.
And thanks for the hug! YAYAYAYAYAY You rock, Cathy! I love all the pics you've made and all the time you've spent chatting with my about my crazy LC obsession. It's been so fun finding a friend through LC. So, thanks. For all of it. {{HUGS}} for you as well! Love ya, lady! :oD
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm so happy you enjoyed the story so much. And yeah, I was pretty excited about using the Charm to kill Old Snakey-poo. I'm pretty excited for the sequel as well. Thank you so much for the review and I hope you'll enjoy the sequel. :oD
"Author! Author!" Exceedingly well done OE. And the reminder that Severus was taking Harry home and that Ginny was waiting for him was just so right. Thank you for Draco/Tonks and the Simulated Death Spell. So, Lucius stayed trustworthy but Draco caved, eh? Have to admit, I like that twist. Poor Harry and Severus now have to deal with Scrimgeour and Rita. Yikes. I'm looking forward to the sequel. Thank you for such a wonderful ride. Author's Response: Thanks, Cee Cee! *blushes* I'm so happ you liked the final chapter. YAY I really really wanted Harry and Sev to go beyond the veil there, to just have a chat with Lily and James, but alas it wasn't to be. My muses had other ideas. :oP Glad you liked what they did. And nope, I could never kill my Remus. I love him tooooo much. :o) Lucius was good. Draco...not so much. But he is just a little kid/prat, so what can you expect. Hee hee. Yep, these boys have so much to deal with. But Voldy's dead so it can't be too bad, right? :oP Thanks so much for all your beatiful reviews. And thanks for beign so excited about this and the sequel! |
