Reviews For Lily's Charm
Author's Response: Thanks!
I liked the interaction between Harry and Severus. Harry seems much more comfortable with Severus and willing to let Severus be his dad. I'm not sure what's happening with Draco and Moody. Did you previously tell us what Moody's role was and I've just forgotten? or will all be revealed in later chapters? The plot is thickening . . . Author's Response: The order members have sorta been guarding Draco for awhile now. ANd Moody doesn't like Draco and really just thinks it will be easier for him to get something on him and send him away instead of dealing with his antics. He has no other role really. Just a order member who's tired of babysitting and doesn't think the Malfoys should be trusted. Harry is definitely content with Severus as his dad. He's proved himself enough at this point. Yes, the plot is thickening a bit. Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for reviewing!
This chapter started out with “Oh!” I mean, how could it not when the tagline under the chapter title is “well, you all know what desperate times call for.“ A gulp followed the “Oh.“ Then, the first two words are “Harry Snape!” (“Oh” number two). I had absolutely no frickin’ idea where this chapter was going. It became obvious and I slapped my head with the famous “Doh” motion because somewhere there was mention of going back and enjoying some happy baby Harry memories. I’m just not the smartest cookie in the box and I never think of those things ahead of time. And how adorable is baby Harry with floo powder all over him? So we now know why the floo powder box didn’t open for Harry because Lily applied a “anti Wizard Baby safety charm” on it (probably purchased at the local Wizard Babies R Us branch) being the great mother she is and all. And Severus is the good daddy and plays distraction with a new bauble after Harry loses his first. AND Severus takes little Harry for his first broom flight. Love it, love it, love it. Remus was certainly closemouthed with all Harry’s questions. And Harry tried his darndest to get answers, but Remus was only answering in as few words as possible. Then “Oh” number three came up when Severus answers out of nowhere and shocks Harry with “I am not in denial.” Heck, he startled me. And how hard it seemed for Severus to give James’ things to Remus. We all know, although he doesn’t outwardly show it, how much he thought of James. The next “Oh” (is that four?) came when he demanded Harry give his word about following his instructions without question when he admitted trying to use the floo to get back. I kind of felt like his eyes were staring at ME too and not just Harry he was so damned serious. *brrrrr* The “awwwws” were for all the touching moments Harry and Severus got to share in that box, from the “Hi Daddy” picture, which gave me a lump in my throat, to the Severus covered in orange. It’s nice to see Severus almost smile at the memories. And they got to see his baby room and Lily’s ring. How bittersweet. Wait, onto “Oh” number five - that is when Severus starts to question Harry about his scar hurting when he was near the locket. And that got me wondering if the part of Voldemort’s soul in the locket was recognizing the part of the soul contained within Harry. Hmmmm…… I adored Harry’s chatting with all the little Sytherins and his talk with his father about changing his last name. Severus said he’d look into it. And I find it so funny how his voice keeps popping up in Harry’s head such as “wear your coat.” Truly, ROTFL. Wish I could do that to MY kids. And Filch being picked up and moved around Severus and Harry. Oh that Dumbledore…his sense of humor is too wicked! But yikes! Malfoy starts his angry rant at our boys and I did the next “Oh” for the night. And Harry spoke up for him…that’s our noble Gryffindor for you! But drop some Veritaserum down that boys’ throat because I don’t know whether to believe him or not that he was not going to go all the way in murdering Dumbles. Severus must keep some of that around somewhere… Thank you, OE, for keeping Sev’s patronus in line with the books, because I loved that he took Lily’s patronus. It was so sweet and tragic and romantic and I appreciate it staying as his. (But who did he call??) Who gets this chapter’s hug? Tonight, it’s for ObsidianEmbrace for keeping me so thoroughly entertained with her amazing story. This is for you, girlfriend! {{{{HUGS}}}} Author's Response: YAY! I got a hug! *happy dance* You did have a lot of "oh" moments this time. LOL Sev does sorta get a daddy award with this little happy Harry moments in 1981, doesn't he? Awww. Well, Remus is trying really hard not to step on toes, knowing that he is sorta in limbo with Severus, not quite friends and he doesnt know if Sev wants this stuff answered.... Poor Remus. Yeah, Sev startled Harry as well. Doh! And yeah, he was pretty serious and though Harry's means his promise now, is he really going to be able to keep it. Gryffindors and their honor, though.... There were a lot of bittersweet moments, weren't there? So much sadness really just permeated this chapter. I'mkind of a depressed. :oP I love your speculation about the locket...but more than that...sorry, that's all I can say about that. LOL Yeah, Sev is really enjoying their little mind reading. Hee hee. Let's see how he likes it though once Harry learns how to do it. ROFL Dumbledore is pretty funny but he did promise Sev that Filch woudln't go near Harry. LOL Yay for Harry sticking up for Draco...did you notice he actually called him Draco? Hmm...intriguing. Everyone's just getting all close, aren't they? LOL Well, you'll just have to wait and see what Draco was gonna be up to. Sev's patronus is very much the same, though I have my own reasonings as to why. See PK's review for a complete explanation! You'll have to wait and see who he called though. Sorry. Thanks so much for the review and just for everything! :o)
Author's Response: So glad! I love those Occlumency scenes. They are really fun!
Scorpia Author's Response: LOL Sev has his issues with Ginny and Harry but no more will I say. :oP
Author's Response: Yay for Harry and Ginny! Lucius is unique. That's all I'll say about that. LOL
Scorpia Author's Response: LOL Glad you liked it! I do have to agree that's it's just the best chapter ever choice. Hee hee. LOL I love that you're laughing at Harry. That's funny!
This 1981 scene was just precious! I can't believe how at ease Sev is around Lily, Harry, and especially James. It was heart wrenching to read, knowing their horrible fates. But, Sev really got to me, needing to show off in front of his wife and to show up James...despite his distaste of heights and the fact that brooms evoke "childish" behavior...it was the perfect scene. *giddy* I do wonder how floo powder tastes...not good I suppose. And finally, Harry starts asking those all-important questions. Good job, Harry! You really did put a lot of thought into plotting this whole story out, didn't you? I don't remember what that chapter was but I do remember asking you over and over again what Tonks and Moody were doing in Gringotts...and now we know! Did they have as much trouble as Ron, Harry, and Hermione did or was it in a more accessible spot? I'm just glad they're ok from that experience... If only I could say the same for Remus...what happened to him?!?! He better get over his uncomfortableness real soon! I do love how he still keeps his wits about him, that Remus. Saying that Harry needs to listen to his father first and foremost before himself was awesome of Remus...love that werewolf...even if he is a bit of a sissy. And with Harry's next line, my heart was squashed below someone's shoe...and was horridly jumped on with Sev's entering line... These boys have simply endured too much pain. It's truly heartbreaking. *depressed* And the poor remnants of my heart were subjected to a far worse beating as the conversation continued. I do wonder, though, was it hurt that Harry felt coming from his father at Remus' question of, "Are you sure you don't want them, Severus?" And what was going on between Sev and Remus as Harry sat looking at them, neither of them answering... Tee hee...floo box... Question, why would Sev have to sleep in what I can only imagine as being the spare bedroom with the rollaway bed? Why couldn't he stay with Lily? Besides, they were there only once with Harry...so there would have been no fake marriage between James and Lily and no one should have been able to find it anyway. Right? I do love how the connection between Harry and Sev plays a part in their conversations...a LARGE part. It's great just because now Harry can say the right things once and a while now too. It must have been extremely hard for Harry to even consider answering Sev's request to obey him...but, alas, he did. I just hope that Sev realizes that Harry can't always be expected to do so, just because he promised. I love, love, loved the little trip down memory lane these two took, hand in hand, skipping along to a happy tune! It was beautiful, sad, funny, adorable, and heart wrenching. Thanks, I bow down to you and your masterful abilities. Carrots...this was defiantly the best picture of the lot... Hmmm...how did Albus 'save' Lily's ring...hmmm indeed... Is there any more to know about this particular plot point? And poor, poor Severus... My heart felt another painful stab when he said that he didn't get past Filius' book. *almost crying now...heart in shreds on the ground* And then it was lifted above my head as Harry and Sev went to tour the upstairs bedrooms...until it came crashing back down, taking my stomach with it. A definite low...I still do think that Sev is just saying that it's not Harry's fault to protect his feelings...and I really hate thinking that. But it just doesn't seem reasonable for there to be a DE meeting and two days later, mere hours after their encounter with the horcrux, for there to be another...especially since Lucius was tortured at the last one. *sigh* I just don't know... ...especially since Harry's scar didn't begin to hurt until after Dumbledore took the locket... *now trying to piece back my heart which was thoroughly ground into the carpet* Yay for brewing and mental connections! And Slytherins!! I love that Jones girl...her older brother was in my year. I do love Harry's concern for his father's welfare. Those Slytherins have proven they can be nasty and I hope everything's going as well as Sev says it is...not that I doubt him...much. And Harry's right...there has been a great change that can be seen within both of them. They truly have come a long way and though it's been hard, they've both made it through together. *heart floats again* And I loved Ms. Jones' little chat about Harry's name. Hopefully next chapter there will be an unexpected visitor to their dungeon apartment, with some particular documents for Harry and Sev to sign... Filch...and good thinking, Dumbledore! ...although, I would have enjoyed watching Sev punch him! And that line! Cathy, you deserve a big hug! I loved it!! Finally! Some other house gets weaseled out of Harry other than Hufflepuff!! Ha ha! And then my heart goes back into the carpet...with Draco. I hadn't realized how close to the end I was until I was there...and this part with Draco made me not want it to end...I just feel so sorry for him...but he's got to realize that there ARE people there at Hogwarts that can help him, that he doesn't have to be handling this on his own. Hopefully Harry'll be able to get to him sooner or later. *tries to pick out pieces of shattered heart from the carpet* And Moody certainly isn't helping matters... But I've got to hand it to Harry for sticking up for Draco. He did an amazing job and I think he said exactly what needed to be said, which was the truth, in support of Draco. And good for Draco for keeping his mouth shut too...or has he taken Harry's words to heart? Hmm...I can only assume that Sev called for Dumbledore, but can you tell us what Harry was going to ask his father in reference to his Patronus? Because I didn't think that Harry knew Lily's Patronus was a doe. Poor, poor Draco. I hope he finds more security in the upcoming chapters... Well, now that my heart is hopefully back where it's supposed to be, I must once again bow to your awesomeness. And thank you for the end note mention...I didn't realize that I was nudging. But, I'm glad it did the trick, too! So, how's that next chapter coming along? It better be a long one...I think Harry's got some questions he wants answered...or maybe just I do... Good luck with the next chapter and enjoy the remainder of your weekend! Author's Response: Sev is truly at ease around all of these people…his little family…yep, even James by now. It does make it all the more sadder though, doesn’t it? Such a tragedy. It really is. I love that you saw Sev trying to show off. LOL He’s a funny one, isn’t he? LOL
LOL Yes, I did spent a bit of time thinking of a plot. LOL, PK! You’re funny. Nope, Tonks and Moody didn’t have too much trouble. Hee hee. Well, Harry does mean his promise, right now anyways. LOL He always intends to be good, doesn’t he? LOL Sev wasn’t lying about anything to do with Voldemort…he’s got much to consider, however. That much I will tell you. Don’t be sad. Sev is being a good dad, I promise. I told you you’d be proud of dear Harry. Go Harry!
Sheesh, I am working on 45! Yikes, I better get busy! :o)
Keep going with this; I promise, it's fabulous. I was attacked with the stomach flu over the weekend, but I'm still planning on posting SfS tomorrow if it kills me...lol. Anyway, thanks for the update! You're quite the brilliant one, I'd say... *hugs* Author's Response: Oh, Jade. You are too wonderful. *grins excitedly* Thanks so much for reviewing and I must say, before I say one more word that I am giddy just thinking about SFS! Keep typing, Jade! I'm glad you liked the baby part. I modeled baby Harry after my son. LOL Malfoy has issues, it's true! I'm so happy you enjoyed this Sev and Draco conversation. Draco is really hurted and really Sev is too, for so many reasons. Heck, they all need a big hug! Thanks again. I really appreciate all your kind words! Yay! Now, go type. I need my Sirius fix! :oP
The last fighting scene between Harry & Snape at first I thought it was going to be all sweet & maybe that would hug in the end? But NO! They strarted to scream at each other! Just like boys! Lol, I was looking forward to seeing what Snape would say after Harry told him that He reconized Snape by his smell, but that didn't happen, sigh. Great chapter though! Scorpia Author's Response: LOL Screaming at each other indeed. They end up doing that a lot. LOL I don't think Snape would have appreciated being found out by his smell. LOL Thanks, though. Glad you enjoyed it. Cloves, screaming and all! :oP |
