Reviews For Lily's Charm
I find I'm quite glad that Harry didn't lose it like I predicted he might. He remained quite the strong Gryffindor for his father's sake. Wow, and an indignant Remus is a really fun Remus, demanding answers on the state of Severus' soul from Poppy and Albus, clearly for Harry's behalf, desperate to find an answer. Go werewolf! That probably helped Harry as well stand up to Poppy and Albus about not wanting to give up on his dad and enter his mind looking for Severus himself. Clearly, Remus continues to be a well of strength for him. So I'm thinking, "Well, I'm taking this okay so far. No Kleenex yet." But then Harry makes this comment: “but Madame Pomfrey says you have to get better so I can bring you home.” The fountain opened on that line. Glad I grabbed a new box. Poor Harry...opening his eyes the next morning to the sea of redhair. I'm glad they didn't have to stay that long; I would have been horribly overwhelmed by them too. Tonks gets the high five for saying "Come on Weasleys" (made me think of a herd dog rounding up her flock...that's the image I got) and giving Harry some breathing space (hey, and Remus got a liplock!) A surprising twist, moving Severus to his rooms to continue his recovery but one I like very much. Harry is comfortable (and maybe gets to use his own new room). Sterile hospital rooms are never fun (not even at Hogwarts I imagine). But what a responsibility for Harry to help out by taking care of Severus so much (even with Remus and Poppy to help). Boy, after Harry manages to bring Severus back to himself (and we won't accept anything else at the end) Severus owes him much more than a new room and clothes. A new broom won't cut it either. Hmmm....how DID Severus get that photo of Harry? Harry's lie to his Dad...it broke my heart. (The tears came back...thought I was done). He wants him to be happy with his mother if that is truly where he is now, but not wanting to let him go and feeling anger if his dad wanted to stay. Those conflicting emotions make such sense, and again you wrote it so I felt it right along with Harry. And I find myself almost agreeing with Harry, except that I want Severus to come back to Harry. Severus, you promised! Ooh, the ashes that Harry sees - that gave me shivers. Brrrr.... Harry, you are so brave. I should have known you would be. Excuse me, Severus and Lily - could you quit rolling around in the sack and THINK ABOUT YOUR SON! Gosh I know it's been awhile, but really! What's past the ashes? Don't give up Harry! We're depending on you! Author's Response: I love indignant Remus. LOL Sorry about your fountain...but not really! I love evoking a few tears. :oP A 'sea of red hair'. Yes, indeed. A frightening picture. I'm glad you liked Tonks hearding the Weasleys away. I really like that Tonks. And seriously, those Weasleys need to just go already. LOL The moving thing will be very important to the rest of the story so yeah, it was a good move. I think Harry felt better there as well because it was much more private for them. And Harry too really wanted that responsibility to care for Severus. Poppy let him because it helped to keep Harry stable and focused on a goal. Photo? What photo? LOL I'm so glad the lie broke your heart. Harry's as well and mine. *sobs* Poor kid. He's gonn have issues about this for awhile to come yet. Ashes indeed. I love that part but hated it at the same time. Disturbing. And hey, I never said anyone was rolling around in the sack, thank you very much. They are simply snuggling on the couch. Sheesh, Cathy...mind out of the gutter!
Harry's feelings are so real...his mingled hope and fear and despair. I can completely understand and sympathize with his struggle between wanting his father to be happy with Lily, and wanting Severus to come back for him. The news about Harry and Severus must have come as quite a shock to the Weasleys, but I'm so happy they're there for Harry, and Remus, of course. Now, come on, Sev...you've got all eternity to be with Lily, but right now your son needs you, and you did make a promise... Author's Response: LOL I'm sorry...really. Okay, not really. :oP But the struggle is awfully fun, isn't it? I love that you say you can feel the hope, fear and despair. It is a struggle, one he's not completely set with right even as he's searching for Dad. Poor kid...he's having a rough 6th year. LOL Yay, you tell, him Kristeh! Tell him to get back home.
Author's Response: I just love your passion, you know that, right? Don't worry...I'm working on chapter 34 right now. I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying! :o)
That probably didn't really make any sense in my review, but it definitely did in my head. Sorry about that, lol. Author's Response: Lily will do her best...once they get around to it. LOL You'll see.... I love the Tinkerbell comment. LOL Oh, and it made perfect sense.
Thanks so much for the quick updates. I would be going crazy if I had to wait too long in between chapters. Especially when they are such heart-wrenching chapters. Take care... Author's Response: Thank you. I'm so please you enjoyed it. I'm glad you were touched by it. Harry is having a rough time of it, isn't he? He does have lots of people to help him through it though so hopefully he'll be all right. Ah. That conversation made me cry as well. The bargaining was heartbreaking. :o( Thanks...hope you enjoy chapter 33! Thanks for reviewing.
Author's Response: LOL I'll update soon. Promise. :o) Harry does need Severus...I agree with you there!
Excellent job! i love it.. and poor harry... sounds like he'll never be the same! even if Severus does come back, Harry's emotions will be teetering for a long time to come. PLEASE UPDATE SOON! i don't think i can take any more cliff hangers! :) hug to you! Author's Response: LOL I'm really trying to cliffhang all of you. (really, truly) I just have been trying to move things along at a very slow pace...just like Harry's feeling right now. You're right there with him! :oP You're right. Harry will never be the same after this...no matter what happens!
Such as...Dumbledore's ease at Malfoy Manor. What was UP with that? And I forgot to mention about how hard it was for Harry to see Severus get changed into a hospital gown from his deatheater robes. Another good point by you. You really truly must come over and join us on the Yahoo board if you haven't already. I'm (all in the name of silly fun) writing with others help some possible future scenarios for Lily's Charm and we're having a darn good time. I'd LOVE to hear your input. Author's Response: Okay, okay. I can't reveal everything...although I am about ot divulge something quite huge next chapter. *evil, evil grin* Dumbles has spent lots of time of late with those Malfoys. :o)
Is there a special reason that Molly Weasley wasn't with the rest of her family in D's office? Just wondering...more frogs for you! Author's Response: Molly...yes indeed. There is a very good reason. I'll even tell you. :oP She's hanging out in the Gryffindor common room. Did you really think she was gonna stand around at home, waiting for Voldy's DEs to capture her babies? LOL It was a very tricky maneuver for McGonagall to get Ginny outta there and even more tricky when Hermione went to find Ron after they left. LOL Think on that for awhile! :oP
To ObsidianEmbrace: ...stop updating so late at night!! I need to sleep for class! But, then again, shame on college for getting in the way of my fanfiction! I'm really glad that you update when you do, it acts as a nice pick-me-up until I remember I have to leave the wonderful world of Harry Potter and enter the "real" one. *scans chapter to remember what to write about...curses college some more* I too enjoyed seeing Dumbles in a little position of hurt...well, maybe that's put a little strong. I'm glad we got to get inside his head to see what he thought of the situation. Could you please say some more about these few sentences: "[Dumbles]Wished that he had questioned Lily and James more fully; wished he had followed his instincts regarding Severus. But he hadn’t. He’d believed Lily as fully as Severus had." What, pray tell was it that he believed? Didn't he know that Lily had lied to Sev when she said that James was Harry's father?! AHA! Dumbledore doesn't think that Sev would let go of everything in this world so easily, mainly Harry, so I don't think he will (but more on that later). It was nice to find some tidbit of information that showed how much Sev loves Harry...that every conversation Dumbles had with Sev Harry was mentioned...*sigh* It's nice to know that a friendship of sorts has been formed between Remus and Sev too. Just to know that Harry has both of them to turn to (along with Ginny, I suppose) when he's got problems or something important...is nice, and makes me feel content! "He stepped out AGAIN into the elegant parlour." Hmmm...I wonder if this is a clue...Dumbledore seemed too at ease within Malfoy Manor and I don't exactly know what to make of it. Although it could be that D visited Lucius earlier that night, when he first escaped Voldie...but then why would he ask the Healer how he's doing...hmmm...or am I completely wasting my brain cells here? Just a hint...please... It was good to know why Lucius did what he did and how...although I'm upset about that. It's disturbing that Lucius didn't even consider Sev as a friend...granted I don't think Sev considered Lucius a friend either. But, nonetheless, I am glad that Sev got out alive (relatively...more on that later) and to the infirmary. More Draco soon? I do wonder what Voldie is going to do with his failure...and feel kinda sad. Your Draco is much more tolerable than most, focusing on the things he has in common with Harry...and I suppose it's nice. *shrugs* I too liked how Dumbledore didn't give away a lot of information, just stated, "Sev is Harry's father" and left it at that. I do look forward to Harry's discussion with the Weasleys though and hope that they keep their shirts on! It would really suck if they aren’t accepting or something like that (which I doubt that they would be)...so, hopefully soon. I agree with you too, poor Remus when he gets Tonks alone..."Mum's gonna have kittens." *giggles uncontrollably* I thought your discription(s) of Harry's pain were...beautiful. Or beautifully written and so true. It was hard to go through all those emotions with him, but the hurt will be overbalanced with the joy...hopefully. It was nice to read Harry's reaction to Sev wearing his DE robes (forgot to tell you that last chapter) as well as Harry's reaction to the spell Sev taught him to change his clothes. *sigh* It was nice to have Ginny insist to stay with Harry, but he really does need to spend all the time he can with him...TO MAKE HIM REALIZE THAT HARRY STILL NEEDS HIM AND COME BACK!!!! Lily better help in that department too! She really would rather wait alone for a few more years (or many, many more years if I have anything to say about it!) for Sev to come back to her than have Harry suffer...she's that self-sacrificing...check out Chapter 1 of SS, if you don't believe me. It was so hard to hear the news about Sev...and there just has to be a way for him to come back, there does! These past few chapters have just been hard, feeling everything with Harry as he does; Severus is dead; Severus is not dead, but alive; Severus is brain-dead...just too much...and not enough at the same time! So I give a big "Thank You" to you as well as more hugs and kisses!! And as much as I want the next chapter, I don't want the next chapter...*sigh* Basically what Cathy said...yeah, thanks twin! Have a good next chapter, whenever that may come out! I don't think I have to say it, but I will anyway...I hope your muse keeps bugging you to write!! You've turned into a machine and it's a brilliant one at that! Have a good week! Author's Response: Hmmm...I actually never know when to post. I was up very late last night however and so it was a very late post. I answered your Molly and Dumbles/Lucius question in your other review and in cathy's. :o) Did Dumbles know Lily lied? Nope. Had you all going, didn't I? Harry as well. Dumlbes sure wishes he had legilimized her. There wasn't much time however. She and James died shortly after. Dumbles is involved more than just a lack of knowing Lily lied but I won't tell more than that. I think I've given away quite enough today...thank you very much! Friendship mostly on Remus' part at this point. :o) Lucius is very disturbing, yes. That's why I had to include that part the way I did. Lucius and Sev, so very different are actually very much the same. Hmmm Yes, Draco will be here soon, but not yet. I'm glad he's tolerable though. LOL I did enjoy that scene in Dumbles' office. LOL Well, thank you so much. I'm so happy you felt what Harry was feeling. Harry couldn't really take the whole DE robes thing. *brr* Now, that's disturbing. Harry is trying to hard to keep it together and with his little convo with his father, he was going through too many emotions. It was very hard to write. I know Harry needs him. I know, I know. I'm doing my best! :o( LOL Lily is pretty self-sacrificing. Too funny. Oh goody. I could use those hugs and kisses. I am drained. :oP
