How every did you manage to have me laughing out loud and cringing in horror all within the span of the same chapter? Brilliant, I'll say.

I loved, loved, LOVED the internal dialogue going on in Severus' head when Harry inadvertenly compared Severus' potions skills to Neville's. ("So help me, if you just compared my abilities in potions to those of Longbottom, I will turn you over to the Dark Lord.") HAHAHAHAHA! Too funny.

But the sadness I felt for Harry was pretty overwhelming when Severus saw the memories of his abuse and he ran out. What ever will our snarky Slytherin now do with this bit of knowledge?

Can't wait for the next chapter!

Discussing Occlumency in the middle of the South American rainforest...now there's a scenario I could have never had imagined but was a lot of fun to read. You're explantions on how it works reads very well. That you added why Severus learned it in the first place (in depth) was interesting, and I realized that it was something I'd never seen written about anywhere else.

Hope these strangers can be of help. Another marvelous chapter.

Pretty ingenious to have Snape quizzing Harry in lieu of regular conversation. That would show Snape as much about "who is Harry really?" than just idle chatter.

And he called him "Harry." Watch out Severus...it's starting. :-)

Snape imagining Black when he throws the fruit is a riot. And realizing that maybe Harry isn't the carbon copy of James is certainly a good step in the right direction.

    Onto the next chapter!

I just love how you write Harry and Snape's dialogue. As another reviewer said commented, I can just "hear" it in my head as well.

I love the original idea you've come up with here. Them stuck under the the cloak together...what an image that is!

What a wonderful, totally different story. Hope to see more soon. I'm glad Harry isn't a total dunderhead and Snape self commentary is great.

I love the little bits of humor you put in with the adventure and pathos. I can perfectly see Harry and Severus speaking when I'm reading.

It's sad that Harry is so haunted by nightmares. It's sad for Severus, too, but Harry is just a kid, and totally innocent. I hope Severus can begin to see that most of Harry's 'adventures' were actually very traumatic, and forced upon him, not just fun escapades he dreamed up to relieve boredom.

And I don't know about bathing in the Amazon River. I, too, have heard horror stories about piranhas, and I think I'd rather be dirty---and I'm almost obsessively clean!

Well, this is original! I love the image of Severus and Harry facing unknown dangers in the Amazon Rainforest! Good thing they're both pretty clever and resourceful. I'd be eaten in the first hour probably.

Loved it again! It's sad to see so much rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin that even the young students can be vicious about it. Poor Micah. I'm glad Harry was able to help him, and even more that Severus witnessed it again. When is he going to realize that Harry is really a nice kid?

The part with the Parseltongue book was very interesting. I'm curious to see if anything more is going to develop with that.

The kids were having so much fun flying, I wish Severus had just stayed quiet and watched over them without them knowing, but as a professor, he does have a responsibility to make sure the first-years didn't get hurt. While Micah and Lily were probably safe, since they had flown before and Harry wasn't letting them do anything dangerous, Severus couldn't really take a chance on anything happening, I suppose.

The bit with the unicorn and Dark Magic is suspenseful. I'm curious about what will happen with that.

This is a great beginning! I loved how Harry comforted Micah, and tried to help him with his cousin Lily. It must have been very tempting to badmouth Snape, but it's fortunate that he restrained himself.

I'm glad Severus overheard the conversation, and if he stops to really think about it, he should be able to figure out how wrong he's always been about Harry. The clues are all there. But Severus does have a bit of a blind spot (about the size of the Pacific Ocean) when it comes to Harry.

I'm off to read the next chapter!

Great beginning. Like Harry's involvement with the first graders and the developing interaction between Snape and Harry.
