    i think snape had far more restraint than i ever would have. i liked dumbledore stepping in a using that great influence to stop the runaway train that was molly weasley. i like the character, but i've always thought she needs the occasional telling off when she oversteps her bounds or just generally goes overboard - which i think she has a tendancy to do (think ootp when she was telling sirius what he could and could not do with his own godson). hurray for dumbledore sticking up for a good (if irritating) man and setting things right. hurray for snape for starting the whole things for harry in the first place. i loved that harry went home with his dad in the end. i love your updates, they make my day. keep up the good work!

    Thank you mwc. I agree with you about Molly, but her heart is always in the right place, even if her mouth is in the wrong gear.

    I tried very hard to make all the reactions realistic to the person...this was a very difficult chapter to write and it is nice to know that it is appreciated.

    have to say, i didn't think that severus was *that* out of character. i thought it was the sort of thing he would do if allowed this kind of interaction in his life. love your portrayal of young love in the beginning of the chapter and really loved the ending. i always look forward to another chapter of this fic. keep up the good work!

    Really tense chapter but well done. Loved how things worked out. I also liked how in your story that James Potter remained Harry's father along with Snape. In so many other stories James either is no longer Harry's father or becomes a dislikable person to explain why Snape became Harry's father. Really enjoyed reading the story.

    Thank you lunaz for a lovely review. I am glad that you like the premise of the story where I kept James the way he was portrayed in canon. I too dislike stories where James turns out to be horrible skirt chasing man who only really wanted Lily because she didn't want him, and that as soon as he got her, he lost interest. And then of course, Lily has to run to Severus for comfort and hence, Harry is conceived.

    GREAT chapter. Harry did the right thing...I know Ginny's upset, but she's lucky to have a guy that respects her that much! (Of course, Harry is also lucky to have Ginny, but that's beside the point...

    Hi Mila. How are things?

    Not sure what you mean by the story turning into red library means, but as you're grumbling, I don't suppose it can be good. Not a fan of OOC Sev?

    Sev thought long and hard about Harry's dilemma, what with school coming up and them being in close-ish proximity to each other and how hard it would be for Harry to try to continue with the negative emotions in front of his friends. When the explanations come, he and DD will have to emphasise how important it is for it all to remain a secret. The Weasley's won't give them away.

    Of course, they are going to have to keep up the pretense around the Slytherins and the rest of the school, but Harry will not care about that because his best friends know and he doesn't have to try and hide his emotions from them when they are together.

    Inspiration comes and goes, but I am trying to keep the ball rolling.

    Brilliant chapter, I like the idea of the so near yet so far scene with Ginny, it's a point in a relationship that is too often skipped. The hug at the end is soppy Snape at it's best, Well Done. Post soon

    great chapter and i think harry and ginny will work out there problem with abit of time, severus was a surprise, as i didn't think he would openly hug harry in front of everyone, the younger weasleys will be spitting blood

    Thanks for your review. And yes, HArry and Ginny will be OK.

    Sev had to come to a decision about letting the Weasleys in on his and Harry's relaionship, and Harry's pleading and DD's urging finally pushed him to this.

    Ron will of course overreact but hopefully he will eventually settle. Ginny already knows there was something going on because of the argument she heard between Harry and DD after the Godric's Hollow incident.

    OMG - brilliant chapter ending! The balance between your Snape and the real Snape was obvious, and while yours was OOC it wasn't overdone. Well done.
