Reviews For A Shocking Discovery
Okay, can I tell you how much I laughed at this line: "No, you make the place look untidy." It was just SO Snape-ish. I loved it. But Sev tucking sick Harry into bed was so adorable (but don't tell him I said so or he'll hex me.) Poor Harry and Severus and their suffering by that creep's hand. (Oh, I hate that Voldy guy). But Severus earned major parent points with his handling of Harry and ignoring his own discomfort through the Dark Mark. And again we see how far our two favorite guys have come when Harry doesn't want to take the potion so he can try and know what is going on (because of Sev clearly) and Severus being painfully aware (but for good reasons) that Harry is so concerned about his welfare. Poor Severus again for having to be present at those torture and murder sessions. And him being sneaky about trying to make their suffering less really made me love my favorite anti-hero even more. You really write fun dialogue between Severus and Remus. I love that he just can never get Remus provoked no matter how snarky he gets. What's wrong with Albus?? *bites nails* Poor Sev hasn't had enough drama in the last 24 hours and now there's another crisis by the sounds of it. Behave while he's gone, Harry! Fabulous chapter, Lesley! Author's Response: Thank Cathy. Great review as usual. I just love doing snarky Snape as you know, but I also have to show that the man is human and that he does have a sense of humour...albeit a very dark, very snarky snese of humour. And yes, he and harry have advanced but they still get up each other's noses and will keep on doing so, I feel. You do feel for Sevv don't you, having to witness and pretend to participate in the murders. I felt for him enormously having to see Charity Burbidge hanging ove the table at the Malfoys and knowing she was going to be murdered and not be able to do a darn thing about it. I am sure they were not buddies, but they were fellow staff members and she called him 'Severus', so that indicates they had some interactions. What a great actor he was/is. I always knew he had to turn out to be a good guy, but the beginning of the book made it seem possible he was as evil as he appeared. I loathed the way he died so pointlessly because the evil so and so said he had to. AAArgh! Back to topic. I love writing Remus. He is just such a lovely man...well, I think he is anyway and I know all us LC fans think so. He will wear Sev down by degrees. But he was always the Marauder who was the easiest to tolerate. It's already started really...Sev being aware that he does know Remus better than he is comfortable knowing about. And realising that Tonks is sending covert glances Remus's way and knowing that Remy will deny his heart if it comes to the crunch because of his condition. And DD...I can't believe that only one reviewer has picked up what is going on. Especially in light of another part of the chapter... You'll have to wait ans see *evil laugh* ~Lesley~
Author's Response: Thank you Kimberly. I'mappreciate the compliments. It's always lovely to hear that someone enjoys my writing, as well as the story. I do try hard. Hope to hear from you again. ~Lesley~
One question though, what hapened to Harry getting sick? before he had the mead he seemed to be coming down with an awful cold... has Severus just forgotten about it with the stress of the mead incident? Author's Response: So glad that you are enjoying the pace of the story. I have always been very aware that any change in relationship between Sev and HArry would have to be very slow, and not a smooth run forward even after they decide to give their new relationship a go. Hary is still harbouring the cold. His other symtoms have just pushed it to the background. Also, the alcohol probably did slow down the onset of a full blown cold.
Thanks for reviewing, ~Lesley~
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thank you for your review. ~Lesley~
Stupid Harry though for getting himself drunk, but then I love a stupid Harry so of course, I loved reading it. Are we going to see more of Harry testing Sev or did he get it all out of his system...and dare I say...Sev passed this particular test. :o) I really enjoy your Albus. He's really well done. And the interaction between he and Severus is always lovely. I am also just really glad to see that Severus is working so hard on controlling his temper and it worked so well that now Harry is coming to accept him. It's really fun to watch the process. Thanks for a great chapter! :o) And I vote for Pappy! :oP Author's Response: Hi Tabitha, I'm glad ya'll voted for pappy. That's my personal favourite too. :0) Harry was definitely a very silly boy, but hey, he is a boy, he is sixteen and he is very confused. He has been through a hell of a lot, let's face it. He hasn't got a stop button either, nor even a 'look before you leap' button. He's a full steam ahead Gryffindor. And though Harry is coming to appreciate how Sev is sticking to his word and making a huge effort, hey, he even gave him a gift, he is still not going to be able to forget the last five years so easily. Certain things will rear their ugly heads on occasions. The name thing is going to be hard. I know what it's like. When I got married, I couldn't bring myself to call my in-laws 'mum and dad'. It just didn't seem right. I had a mum and dad. I never called them anything. I never called out to my mother-in-law from another room because I couldnt call out, 'Hey You'! If my mother-in-law ever noticed, she never said anything. It wasn't until my daughter started talking and christened them Maas and Paas, that I could actually address them with a title. I just adopted Erin's words. And so has the whole family since. Even my husband and his brothers. Sev will have to put Harry at his ease. I love writing Albus and Sev interactions. They play off each other so well. Albus, alway the picture of calm certainty and volatile Sev who has to always be talked around. Both fond of each other but both knowing the others faults. I have to admit, I have been a little worried about you. I tried to chat with you yesterday, (yahoo said you were on line) but you didn't respond. I was hoping you were all right. Are you? Thanks for reviewing, as usual, I appreciate your perspective. ~Lesley~
Author's Response: Thanks Phoenix1 for taking the time to come over here to review. FF was down for quite a while. I imagine I will have missed out on a few reviews because other than yourself, I doubt anyone would have made the effort to review over here. And if anyone tried to review and couldn't, chances are they won't go back to do it. Oh, well. I am very glad you enjoyed the chapter. ~Lesley~
Author's Response: Teenager...boy...these things are often not synonymous with thinking. It's not just HArry.
Glad you enjoyed the chapter. ~Lesley~
So it will be interesting to see how you continue their story. Author's Response: Oh, I don't know. Sev is not going to fall in love overnight, but the fact he is beginning to worry aand care about Harry is an indication that he is starting to feel something other than hatred. I hope you stick around to see how things play out. ~Lesley~
Author's Response: Thank you very much for such an enthusiastic review anonymous. But my big question is, how in the hell did you read this so fast. I only uploaded it less than five minutes ago. I don't think even speed reading could have accomplished that! I also already have a chocolate frog rating alt=ready. That usually takes at least an hour. Mysteries, mysteries! ~Lesley~ |
