That's an interesting idea having Severus learn about Harry from those who love him. Another enjoyable chapter. You have established well that Harry needs an adult to really care about looking after him.

Author's Response: Thank you!  I hoped it would be believable, it seemed like a 'Slytherin' sort of way for Sev to go about learning about Harry at this point, especially since Harry is sleeping and Sev can't interact directly with him yet.  And yeah, I think Harry really does need Severus.

another great chapter. i am really loving this fic! my only complaint about this chapter is that i wish it were LONGER :)

Author's Response: Thank you!  Sorry, I really did try to make this chapter longer, but by the end of it, I was just too tired to do justice to the next scene (Harry and Severus face to face again), and I wanted to post what I'd already done.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME YOU PLAN ON UPDATEING SOON!!!!! THIS IS JUST TOO GOOD!!!!!!!
Sorry for nagging. But you are doing a great job!!! I believe, according to your pattern, that Potions Professor is due.
F.Y.I: your doing a FANTASTIC JOB on these two stories and look forward to reading them.
(I had a question though,I'd like to write a fanfic too, however, I'm not quite sure how to start. Like what are the rules? If you could give me any tips at all I'd GREATLY apprecaite it.)
    Back to your story.
Againg GREAT JOB!!!!!!! And i look forward to your updates.
    Thanks for reading and writing.

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  Yes, I'm working on "Potions Professor" this weekend, and hope to have the next chapter up in a day or two.

As for writing your own fanfic, there are no real rules to it.  Everyone has their own style and what works for some doesn't for others, but for me, planning is the key.  I usually imagine a general idea and several important scenes, and make an outline.   Then I go back and start making it a lot more detailed...the more detailed the better, just figuring out how the characters' feelings will change, what events are going to happpen, etc.  I carry a notebook around that has all my notes, and when I get ready to begin a chapter, I usually make a quick list of things that I want to happen in that chapter.  Also, though, be flexible and willing to change your plans.  Sometimes the characters end up  having a mind of their own.

    Good luck!

This just keeps getting better and better! I hope that Severus really learns what Harry is really like and that he and Harry can develop a good relationship eventually.

I liked that way you got into Harry's head and the deft transitions of point of view throughout the entire chapter. You characterizations were spot on as well. Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thank you!  Oh, don't worry...Harry and Severus will get there eventually.  I'm so happy you like the characterizations...it's important to me.  Got to do another chapter of PP first, but I'll try to get back here asap.

Excellent chapter. I can see Severus slowly revising his opinion. Feeling guilty must help him, too!

I do wonder how Harry will handle Snape's apology. How quickly will he be willing to accept a new Snape? I would imagine he will probably verbally accept it, but I would think it will take a long time for him to truly accept that the new Snape can really be trusted.

Author's Response: Thank you!  I think you're right about how Harry will handle the apology and Severus' apparent change of heart.  He's too wily to openly deny Severus' apology, but I don't think he'll take the words at face value, either...I mean, this is Snape, here, after all!  Severus will have to earn Harry's trust.

AWW!! I love this!! I'm sad that I forgot about your last update, but then again, I got a two-for-one today!

It's horrible what happened to Harry, but you portray him so well! He's angry at Snape (with good reason) and curious as to why he cares so much. You also write Severus well! I love his thoughts, this constant tipping between "Harry is a pompus teenager, just like his father" and "Harry's an ok kid"...I can't wait until they have this discussion that I just know is coming up soon!!

Good luck with the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks!  Yeah, it was pretty horrible for Harry, but it will lead to Severus' change of heart.  And yeah, Sev's struggling with his paradigm shift right now, too.  It's hard for him to admit that he was wrong, especially when it means he has to admit that he's mistreated Harry for years, but he already has had to see that he was wrong in some ways, and Severus is not one to shie away from facing the truth, even when it's hard.

Another great chapter - with some great lines. Severus is reallt experiencing a paridigm shift in his thoughts towards Harry - "All the people he respected said he was wrong about Harry" was a great line. Can't wait to see how that plays out - and when Harry will start to really accept Severus's apology. Loved this chapter and anxiously awaiting the next!!!!

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'd hoped that it would be a believable way for Severus to begin to change his attitude about Harry...realising that all the people whose opinion he values are fond of Harry and have been telling him that he was wrong.

Ah--another wondeful IC chapter. You portray Harry beautifully. I have come across some stories (even a few here) where Harry is extremely defiant and rude. You portray Severus rather well, too. There is some great interaction going on here. Your story is believable, well written, and a unique story idea to boot! Keep up the great work.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you!  I'm glad you find them IC.  I try, but everyone does have their own opinions about the characters are like, I think. But really, I have always thought that Harry was really pretty respectful overall, in canon.  He talked back to the Dursleys at times, but then, they were horrible to him.  And I remember him mouthing off to Snape a few times in HBP, but Snape in canon was pretty horrible to Harry, too.  I do think Harry tried, but Snape pushed him too far at times, and Harry wouldn't be human if he hadn't resented it.

Why thank you, Kristeh! I love them! mmm! and I love this chapter. I like how you portray Severus as being remorseful and I have a feeling we'll see him have a long talk with Harry sometime soon! Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you!  I love sweets, too!  Too much, actually, I have to really watch it.  Yep, Sev's feeling pretty bad right about now, and he and Harry will talk in the next chapter, although don't expect instant mush...we've still got to build up to that.

It was a great chapter and I loved it. I also liked the Honeydukes' sweets, they were yummy. :)

Author's Response: Thank you!  It's hard to beat sweets, isn't it?  I like chocolate best myself.
