Just caught up with 50 and 51. Wonderful as always! My only complaint is how could you leave it there?? LOL. I need to see some Harry and Draco interaction now that Draco's been put in his place. Can we see Draco scrubbing floors??? Pleeeez???

I suppose I can't blame you for a wee bit of a cliffee considering how I tend to drop people off the edge of the plot, though!

    Author's Response:

    Hi, Aspen,

Thank you so much!  I'm sorry for taking so long to respond.  I've had pre-planning at school this past week and it is always crazy.  I've been so busy during the day and then so exhausted in the evenings that I've been going to bed early.

There will be some Harry and Draco interaction in the next chapter...probably.  I don't know about scrubbing floors, but he will have chores to do, how about that?  And oh yes, you definitely have no room to talk about cliffhangers!  You are the queen of the cliffies!

    Thanks again!

Excellent chapter! Can't wait to see new interaction between Severus and Draco, since he seems to be thinking more clearly than earlier in the day. I am looking forward to where you take this. I enjoy stories where Draco and Harry reconcile, I don't know if this is how that's going to go, but I am for whatever happens!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  I'm sorry for taking so long to respond, but I've had pre-planning at school this past week and I've been so busy and tired I haven't had much extra time.  Severus is trying to think of the best way to handle the situation, and I'm not sure he's entirely sure how to handle Draco right now.  He may make some mistakes, but he will always put his son's needs first.

Oh Kristeh, I just love how close Harry and Severus are becoming, and I especially love that Severus is being so caring towards Harry, and showing that he'll always put him first, because he considers him as his son, yet he won't give up on Draco, who is not only his godson, but he's known since Draco was small, and can't forget the young innocent child, who only wanted to be loved and cherished.

I think that it is a testament to Severus' character that he's not going to give up on Draco, just because the tortured boy made a mistake because he felt abandoned and desperately wanted loved and attention.

If Draco were to abandon Draco like that, would he also abandon Harry, if Harry made an error in judgement. No, because when Severus cares about someone, he doesn't reject them if they don't behave as he thinks they should.

Let's face it, Draco did cast a curse on Harry, and it's effects were horrible, but Draco and Harry have always fought, and Harry wasn't always an angel either when he retaliated against Draco. They both have their faults, and Draco really didn't know what he was doing when he cast a slavery spell on Harry.

Yes, he didn't feel the remorse that he should have, once he found out, and true, he ran to the press to cause Harry pain and embarrassment, but I don't think he deserves to go to Azkaban for it. If he had know that the spell was illegal and was the slavery spell, then that would be different, but while Draco's behaviour may have been reprehensible, and he deserves to be punished, he doesn't deserve to go to a place that is run by Dementor's who suck the life out of you, literally and figuratively.

I think that Draco deserves a second chance, and I believe that being in Severus and Harry's company could teach him a really valuable lesson and hopefully turn his life around.

No one is purely evil, and I believe this even less about Draco. Even in Canon, he couldn't kill Dumbledore, he has a heart way down deep and he's still only a child. NO child deserves to be given up on.

Fantastic chapter Kristeh, and I'm so so happy that you are sticking to your convictions and writing the story YOUR way. Great job, you are a fabulous writer.

    Author's Response:

Hi, Pandora,  I owe all my reviewers a big apology for taking so long to respond, but you know I had pre-planning week at school this past week and how busy and tired I was.  Thanks so much for this awesome review!  I struggled with what would be appropriate for Draco and it is maybe something that people disagree on.  I tend to agree with you, that his behavior, especially in going to the press, was horrible, but I don't think his entire life should be ruined.  It is arguable that he ruined Harry's life, and perhaps that is what makes it controversial, but I like situations that are debatable and make you think.  And I do have plans for Harry, though I've been playing with ideas for a sequel some more and I may change what I had originally planned for the ending of this story, cause it would affect the sequel (if I do actually write one, something I'll have to decide before it gets to that point).

    Thanks again!

I adore the story so far and have to say that I don't think Harry is OOC at all, especially as you have hinted at how he was treated by the Dursleys, I think it is 100% in his character to react like this, especially since if he disobeyed he'd die. I have enjoyed this story and think it is better than many others because ofter Harry amd Snape are friends too quickly; I think the way Harry is holding back is just how he would behave if anything like this had happened in the books, not at all OOC! You have an incredible talent for writing, and more than once I have found myself crying as you describe how Harry is feeling. You really write about emotions well, and make the reader understand and empathise with the character.

I'd write more about how excellent your story is, but I HAVE to read on! LOL

    Vicky

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm happy you think Harry's IC...it's hard to tell sometimes.  I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Well, after being gone all summer I've been able to catch up with your story. What else can I say but you made me cry--a number of time.

wonderful. I look forward to your next update.

Nice chapter to move the scene neatly back to Prince Hall. I'm keen to find out what develops.

    Author's Response: Thank you!

Is Draco going to learn about Harry's past during his punishment?

Author's Response: Probably at some point, but I'm not rushing anything.  Neither of the boys is going to want to have anything to do with one another for a time.

Well, I've only just managed to read your last few chapters and the accompanying reviews, and I have this incredible urge to give you a virtual, albeit late, pat on the back. Writing for an audience is painful sometimes. Reviews can be even more painful. Maybe it's b/c a story is, at least in some small measure, reflective of the author... I don't really know... But I do know that an ineloquently phrased review can seem more like a personal attack, and that's uncomfortable. So, congrats on maintaining your professionalism in the face of difficulty, and of course, kudos on a story well written . - Kodak.

Author's Response: Thank you!  I really appreciate your support and encouragement.  It means a lot to me!
