Reviews For Slave Child
I am so pissed that someone would have the nerve to leave reviews like that, especially to someone who is such a brilliant writer. DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THESE LOSERS!!!!! It was a brilliant idea to have Draco become Harry's slave. Let's see them come up with a story half as good. I bet that they can't even write anything a third of the quality of this story!!! You are one of the top writers on here, and this is one of the best stories out there, and you've got the awards to prove it!!!! Continue on with your vision and if anyone stops reading it, it's THEIR LOSS!!! Not yours! If they don't trust you enough to continue reading the story to see what you have planned before they knock it then they are IDIOTS!!!! Author's Response: Thanks again, Pandora! I really appreciate your support! One of the reasons that there was a longer wait between ch. 47 and this one was because I struggled a bit with the knowledge that the rest of the story, for various reasons, will not please everyone. Of course everyone has a right to his/her own opinion and SC has, from the beginning, dealt with sensitive subjects. It will continue to. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you! There's still a good bit to play out so we'll see....
I am still debating with whether or not I will continue to read this fic, because this chapter aside the rest is so good. Author's Response: Thank you for your compliment, and for being civil. I'm sorry if the chapter disappointed you. All I can do is my best. Whether you continue to read or not is, of course, your own decision.
Well, I definitely won't be reading this story anymore. I'm pissed that I've invested all this time in this story and it ends up with the same Severus/Harry/Draco trying to live together stuff just like most of the other storeis on this site, albeit with a 'different' twist. This story was very unique in the beginning and I am truly dissapointed in its outcome - God I wish you could have put some type of warning that it would end up like this beforehand. Author's Response: There have been plenty of warnings in this story. Draco has been listed as a main character from the beginning. Perhaps you should have considered that more carefully before you chose to read. Of course you have every right to disagree my choices and to quit reading, but please do not try to make me feel guilty for writing my own story.
I literally had tears in my eyes, and I was at work! The way you write is truly beautiful, and evokes such powerful emotions. I don't know how anyone can not feel some sympahy for Draco after reading this chapter. Draco's story was heart breaking and gut wrenching. No child of sixteen should ever have to witness their mother being tortured and then murdered in front of their eyes. And then to have to deal with the aftermath alone, because he has no one to turn to. I'm afraid I'm going to have to do a Molly Weasley here and give the poor boy a hug. Well, you have also captured Harry's wonderful capacity for forgiveness, compassion and love to a tee Kristeh. You did JK proud. I really hope that Draco will take advantage of the second chance that he's been given and make amends with Harry. I hope that Severus can find it in his heart too to give some attention to Draco too. Surely there is enough room in his heart to give TWO boys the attention and care they need. Of course, Harry will always be his first priority, but he IS Draco's godfather, so hopefully he can be the mentor that Draco needs. I really hope that Severus can follow Harry's lead in this and not be too bitter about it. Author's Response: Oh, Pandora, I'm going to echo you...what can I say? You are too kind, but I'm happy that you enjoyed the chapter! >>>you have also captured Harry's wonderful capacity for forgiveness, compassion, and love to a tee I hope so. I do love Harry and think that he is an extraordinary person. Severus is very upset and angry with Draco, with good reason, and Harry will always come first in his heart. That's all I can say for now. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you very much!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm sorry it took a while to respond. I had a really crazy week and not much free time. I'm glad you think the boys are in character and yeah, they are still very young and caught up in very serious circumstances.
Author's Response: Well, I won't call you that, and I don't know about Draco. What he did to Harry was really horrible, and some people might find it unforgivable. That's okay...not everyone has to like Draco, that's fine. I do feel some sympathy for him, but he has a long way to go. I'm not trying to make you or anyone else change their minds about Draco, really, but a thought crossed my mind that I would just like to say. I'm presuming that lots of people here like Severus Snape and feel that he deserved a chance to be redeemed and have a chance at a better life, but let's not forget that Snape was a true Death Eater for a time in his life and during that time, I believe he also did some pretty horrible things to innocent people. But he did come to see that he was wrong, to feel remorse, and to want to make up for that. Now, Draco has not gotten to that point, I admit. Right now he is still self-centered and hasn't really come to feel remorse for harming Harry. But I don't think he would have cast the slavery spell if he had known what he was doing. Notifying the newspaper was a terrible thing to do, no denying it and like I said, some would say unforgivable. I see it more as Draco, in the midst of great pain, turmoil, and anger, lashing out, having a lack of impulse control, and not thinking things through at all. Should he go to Azkaban or receive some other type of punighment? How hardened is Draco? Could he learn to feel empathy? How? Does he deserve the chance to be redeemed and become a different type of person, or should he just be punished and taken out of the story? People are going to have different answers to those questions, and I know that not everyone will like my plans for the rest of the story. But it has been planned for two years now. I had Draco's fate planned before I began writing SC, and I think it would ruin the story to make such a major change now. The only thing I will say for certain is that Severus is not going to adopt Draco, and he will not become part of the family. As for Narcissa, she certainly was not a nice person, and I find it hard to feel a lot of sympathy for her too. Overall, she was a big failure as a mother, but in the end she did try to save her son. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Sorry it took a while to respond; I had a very busy week last week and didn't have a lot of time for the computer. Yeah, OOC-ness is almost necessary, I suppose, in a story like SC. Thanks, too, for the vote of confidence! I hope you'll end up satisfied!
Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing and for the compliment! Sorry it's taken me a while to respond. I haven't had much free time this past week so I wasn't able to do much on the computer. I'm sorry, but Draco will have more of a role in SC from now on. He will not become Severus' son/Harry's brother, and he is going to receive some punishment that will hopefully have an effect on him and help him to learn empathy for others. I'm sorry if you choose not to read, but I have had the story planned for two years and I don't want to make a major change at this point. |
