Reviews For Slave Child
I do have a feeling Harry's going to say something along the lines of he'd wished he died, and if that conversation happens I hope Severus can say the right words to prove to Harry somebody does care about him. I have a feeling I'd better be hanging onto the tissue box on the next chapter. I sure needed it this one. Author's Response: Thank you! I felt sorry for Severus, too, but at least in regards to his remorse about Harry, I thought he kind of has that coming. In the past, he was much too harsh with Harry and never gave him a chance. Apologising doesn't come easily to Severus, so I thought it would take something big...like almost losing Harry...to make Severus just go ahead and do it. Harry isn't really going to say much about dying, but he just might act on those suicidal tendencies before long. Severus will have to try very hard to convince him that it's better to live, but I think if he can convince Harry that he really does love and want him, it will help. Thank you!
Author's Response: Thank you! That's how I'm seeing Severus right now, too. 'My' Severus is a good man at heart, but he's certainly not perfect. He is tending to be too possessive and selfish right now, though a lot of that is because he's so inexperienced about personal relationships. He's had very few people that he was close to, and he's insecure because he loves Harry, but he's unsure about how Harry feels about him. He knows that he was awful to Harry, and that Harry doesn't really trust him, and he imagines that Harry would leave him now if he could (and Severus is probably right about that), so that's a big cause of Severus being jealous and possessive...the fear of losing Harry. Not that it's right for him to be that way, and he does need to grow and learn to be more generous with his love. And yes, it will be very hard for Severus when he realises that Harry just wants to die. But we'll see what happens! Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you, and that is exactly how Severus is feeling right now. We'll see how well Severus can explain, but I have a feeling that complete understanding between the two may not happen just yet.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm looking forward to the next few chapters, but I'm also a bit nervous about them, because it's the part that is really key to their whole relationship, and I've been looking forward to writing them for so long.
Author's Response: Thank you! I thought it might be harder for Severus to maintain his composure if it's someone he really cares for who's in danger. I think it's even more heart-wrenching to see those cool, calm, collected types panic, because they so rarely do that you know how upset they must be. And Sev does strike me as being a bit possessive...a character flaw he might need to work on.
Author's Response: Thank you!
Author's Response: Thank you!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm enjoying your story, too.
Anyway, I thought it was really good, I could see the scene really well - the barrels, the cobbles, the panic... I'm trying to remember if Snape had to give up being a spy after taking Harry in... So, does Harry no longer feel like suicide? Did he defeat Voldy by loveing Snape protectively enough? Or something along those lines? I'll find out tomorrow. (: Oh, and I thought the killing of Voldemort was well done, similar to the book (as was George's ear btw - well done on that) I thought for an instant it would be the gold stream again, but something must have changed. |
