    I don't know how I missed this story before. It's absolutely beautiful. I love the way you got into Hedwig's mind and her descriptions of things (particularly the Dursleys). Excellent writing!

    Aww! That was so great. I have never read a story with Hedwigs POV, it was nice to see what Hedwig thought of Harry. She has always been a favorite of mine, even if she is only an owl.

    Aww, very nice story. I was a bit leery of trying to make an owl's POV work, but it turned out beautifully. Okay, that all said, go back to posting NSR!! Kthx. ;)

    Yeah, when I hear "animal POV," I usually think "unbearably cutesy."  ;)  I tried to avoid that. 

     

    Thanks for your patience on NSR!  I'm working two jobs right now, so I'm lacking free time.  I'll post as soon as I can.

    Beautiful take on a different point of view. After DH, I wondered how Hedwig felt about Harry. I think you did a great job of exploring Hedwig's though process =]

    Thank you!  I've never written from an animal's perspective before. It was interesting to imagine "owl culture" and how they would perceive things.  :)

    what an astoundingly profound owl-comparison. And how true for both Snape and Harry.

    "A rather undignified way to travel, in her opinion." funny! I love how you really give Hedwig a character in this story.

    "When she chose to make him her boy."
    And isn't that the truth.

    You know what. This probably sounds stupid, but you made me just realize another character in the books that I never really considered. Even when Rowling killed her, I only thought of Harry.
    Anyways,I really liked your story. It is the first I have ever read out of Hedwig's perspective. nice idea.
    And I love your way with language. simple but beautiful! Lovely. Thanks for sharing

    I hadn't thought much about Hedwig before I wrote this, but it was in the back of my mind how the magical owls appeared to be sentient.  I may have borrowed a tiny bit from C.S. Lewis's "A Horse and His Boy."  Actually, I don't remember much of the story, but I remember the concept of a "pet" considering himself the "owner."

    I do try to ruthlessly cut out any wordiness and make the language as simple as I can.  I think it makes the elements of the story clearer.

    Wow! I love this. I wonder, when did you first write this? You foreshadow so much of DH. It was amazing to see everything from Hedwig's pov. That was a clever idea. This story made it's point; but it didn't become overly sentimental. An absolutely excellent piece of writing.

    Author's Response: Actually, I didn't start writing HP fic until after DH came out.  So I can't take credit for divination.  :)  But thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on the story!  I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it.
