Reviews For The Heir to Prince Manor
~Shade Author's Response: Thanks1 Glad you're enjoying it!
I LOVED the mud fight! I'm so glad one of the boys decided to laugh before Sev went out there, or he'd have made a major arse of himself lol. I love Harry's daring! I would totally have thrown the mud too! In fact, I have hahahaha! Love love looovvveee it! One of my favorite chapters definitely! Author's Response: Thanks1 The next chapter will let you learn more about Sarai and who she is besides just Severus' teacher. I liked the mud fight too as it gave Sev a chance to let his hair down and just play with his boys. I think he needs that every now and again. Harry wouldn't be Severus' son if he didn't dare to do that. Happy reading!
It's awesome that Hedwig and Storm Rider had babies! How adorable! I want one! Sev's reaction was great. He did not lie to Harry for the sake of Harry's feelings and tell him he wasn't disapointed by the grades, but he didn't yell at him and make him feel two inches tall. I'm glad he made Harry understand his expectations, but that if he didn't meet those expectations, he would still hold a special place in Sev's heart. I'm also glad he didn't really get punished. Just told to read the book, which he would have been told to do even if Sev said he wouldn't punish him. And writing the essay, simple. *tosses roses and chocolate chip cookies* well done!
This story is so making me want to go Shimmerling hunting until I find one ^_^ It would be too epic to have a Shimmerling take up residence in my home! I like how Harry once again, initiated contact with Sev and hugged him. Sev needed that. He doesn't know it yet, but it seems that he is doing what Harry was doing to himself. He feels bad about betraying Lily to the Dark Lord, and he won't allow himself to be loved. He thinks he deserves to be treated wrong. Poor Sev. I'm so glad that he, Harry and Draco are becoming such a tight knit family. I was so excited to see Draco and Petunia come up with the other faces of people that loved Harry! I was like yayyyyyy *does a jig*!!!! lol I'm so glad Draco and Harry are getting alone!!! I'm not a Draco lover (or liker, for that matter), but in stories like this, the little brat grows on me! lol XD Great chapter! Can't wait to see the Vernon dementor, he seems worse than ol' moldy Voldy to me!
And omg Draco...seriously!? LOL him and this sleeping! Author's Response: Yes, Draco's attitude with his sleeping is taken directly from a nephew of mine, who loved to sleep, and could sleep ALL day, till 2'oclock in the afternoon! And sometimes it was because he stayed up late, but other times it was because he just liked to sleep, LOL! I recently read in a medical journal that the reason teens love to sleep is because they are usually growing during those years and need extra sleep than they did as children. If you love Smidgen, you'll love the next chapters.
Great chapter! I want a Shimmerling : ( The only complaint I have is about the punishment. It seems so freegin long. It's been almost a month since his punishment started and he and Draco have been behaving and doing their chores, they should be let off for good behavior : ( Once a child is punished for a certain amount of time, they start to forget what they are being punished for. Oi! See thissss is why i've been trying not to comment on stories...tsktsk lol. I get all super involved in the story like it's real life. That just means you're an epic writer who is bringing out my compassioin and other emotions...like my spidey senses *tingle tingle* lol...i'm so weird. haha! So glad I can click "next" and don't have to wait on these cliffhangers weeeeeeeeee!!! XD Author's Response: It does, but remember, they've only been under punishment for around 2 weeks, and they did bring it upon themselves. Severus is being somewhat lenient by allowing the boys to use their IOU's to mitigate their sentence. Yes, they are learning how to get along, but then that is the whole purpose of this punishment. They are also learning useful life lessons, like consequences for actions, how to appreciate how easy magic makes things, like laundry ( I wish I had magic to clean my house after a hard day at work!), and how to use different ingredients in potions and brew more advanced drafs than on their syllabus at school, plus how to cook. Trust me, Draco and Harry know exactly why they're being punished, Sev reminds them every day. As for letting them off, Sev can't do that, he has to be consistent. Although there may come a time when he considers it due to someone's influence. I won't mention any more about it now, you'll see what I mean later. Yeah, it's good not to have to wait, I agree.
But darn your awesome writing for making me comment! Darn itttttt! hehehe I love it. I loved the Dragon's Wild game, mostly because being able to gamble away some punishments! Hahahaha, Draco is so Slytherin for suggesting that! Def. something I would have done! heheheh Poor Harry and his nightmares! Poor poor thing. : ( Poor Draco, I know it shocked him to the freegin core to see Harry completely let down his guard and be so scared. I'm glad Draco sees that they both have been hurt before, maybe Draco will try and initiate some talking/bonding between them. If he and Harry can get along, more power to them! I couldn't imagine letting my guard down in front of my enemy or showing him fear and crying---much less sharing a room with him or (god please prevent it!)---bonding with him!!! *shudder* lol Once again,no complaints, just plenty of dramatics and praise. All hail Snapegirl and DaughterOfAres *bows* loool i'm such a n00b XD Author's Response: When I invented the Dragon's Wild game, it was because I always wondered why wizards didn't play more card games and because I like the idea of Sev, Draco, and Harry playing poker together, as well as allowing the kids to get out of some of their punishments early. Yes, that was a really Slytherin thing for Draco to suggest, but then, he's always been the Slytherin Prince. Plus, it was how my family plays poker, instead of money we use notes too, or sometimes pennies, 'cause it's all for fun. I could never play real poker, I'd be too stressed and lose it all. Harry's nightmares will be a source of trouble to him for awhile yet, until something happens and he can get help from . . . well you'll see. Draco will eventually start talking to Harry, but he still has a few issues to work out first. True, Harry didn't want to break down, but sometimes our emotions overwhelm us and he really couldn't help himself. The nightmares are getting worse. Thanks, hope you like the next part.
I'm glad Harry and Draco are sharing a room, that is exactly what they need. I think great bonding can come out of being forced to share a space with your enemy. They are in essence the same situations. Abused, neglected, not as loved as they could of been and relying on Sev. You are a great writer and I don't have any complaints thus far *shrug*. I thin it's cool, the Fae world and the mortal world with the Prince Manor. I'm REALLY new to the world of Fae and don't quite understand it, but I love the way you made it here! It's really inviting...*sigh* if only it were real, i'd live at Prince manor foreverrrrr lol XD Author's Response: My brother has studied several types of martial arts for years, including Jeet Kun Do, ninjitsu, and kung fu, as well as being a Golden Glove boxer. He taught me several kinds of defense moves so that I could fight off an attacker if God forbid I ever had to, and one of the things he always stressed to me and his two sons was that martial arts was not something you should ever use to play around with or to harm unless it was a situation where someone was going to harm you. He said that as a student of martial arts you had to respect the fact that this was a discipline that was dangerous and not to be taken lightly, that your hands and feet were like weapons and you should never draw a sword or knife unless you meant to use it. My mother was a great believer in a few smacks with a wooden spoon when we didn't listen for the third or fourth time and were beating the crap out of each other or had backtalked her one time too many. I was the youngest and so rarely ever got smacked because I had learned from watching my older brother and sisters how far to push her. But I do recall one time when my brother and older sister were teenagers, probably around Harry and Draco's age, and going at it like cats and dogs, screaming, punching and scratching. My brother nearly pushed my sister through a screen door, and neither of them stopped when mom told them to, so she whacked them with the spoon and THAT made them stop. From shock, I think. It was quite embarrassing, as both were in high school at the time! As for them sharing a room, that idea was given to me by a friend of mine whose mother did that with her and her younger sister, who was adopted. They were always fighting over which one was loved better by their parents, and it got so bad that her mother decided the only way to resolve the situation was to make them share a room and learn to get along that way. It worked, and now they get along great. I figured that would work well for Harry and Draco too. Sometimes all it takes is time to sit down and listen to someone's side of the story to realize how much you have in common. You'll learn more about the Fae world as this story goes on, and I go into more detail with the sequel to this one. A lot of the fae world I've based off of my research into Celtic and Arthurian legends as well as some fairy tales. My minor in college was mythology so I use a lot of that here and have fun doing so. Believe me, I wish it were real too, I'd go live there myself!
Severus handled Draco and harry very well, as they were constantly fighting and all haha I also loved the additional characters and such. They were awesome. Smidgen is my new favorite!! :) This was really, really good. I can tell you spent a lot of work on this and it is really is very good work. Awesome job. Author's Response: Thanks very much! There is a sequel to this called Return to Prince Manor if you're interested in it.
Though I guess you could always say that it's different in Dragons Wild. I have to get back to reading the story now... ;-) |
