    Thank you for updating! I really enjoyed this chapter, thought it was rather sad and heart-rending in a way. The part where Harry said only bad, freaky things were kept in the cupboard was just heartbreaking.

    Severus is very close to figuring it out, if he hasn't already. I can't wait for that conversation. And I love how he is with Harry. Great chapter!

    Yeah, I'm thinking I need to lay of the angst for at least one chapter, but it just happens so naturally, lol.

    Severus certainly has his suspicions.  He's not 100% sure, but he knows the commection between Harry and cupboards cannot be a good thing.

    I'm so thrilled that this has been updated :D I love the way you portray Severus and Dumbledore's relationship, and the way Severus is becoming more and more attuned to Harry's needs - holding his hand, etc. Great job.

    Author's Response: Thanks!  I think it's important to show that they're both changing, not just Harry.

    Oh. That was very touching. Especially the part with Harry keeping things in the cupboard, and the last bit where Snape discovers the crackers.
    Great angst.

    This was such an emotionally draining, yet lovely chapter. The last part had me choked up. I love how you've characterized Harry as such a vulnerable adolescent without making him weak or weepy. I find him to be very real and believable. Thanks so much for posting a new chapter :-)

    If there is anything I've learned in writing these stories is that making Harry vulnerable without appearing weak or weepy is HARD. Very, very hard.  In some ways I cheated, because I made him so young -- vulnerability is easy to ascribe without appearing overdone. My hat's off to those who've managed it so well with an older Harry (aspeninthesunlight comes to mind).

    Wow that was all so heartbreaking. When Harry said that thing about cupboards being for freaky things, my stomach just sunk. And then those last few lines. Wow. You sure know how to tug the heart strings.

    I'm sure there's going to be some discussion around the corner about that whole cupboard thing. And how they're going to move past Harry's little sleeping problem.

    One thing, if Severus did suspect that Harry had a concussion, I wouldn't have though he would have let Harry go to sleep quite so soon afterwards?

    I so love this story and even though this chapter was short, it was perfection. Can't wait for more. Best be off to finishing writing an essay. Sigh. Take care!

    My justification for the concussion thing is that Harry woke when he was moved to the sofa so all seemed well.  Plus, off-scene Severus woke him a few times in the night.

    And yes, there will certainly be a discussion of the cupboard.  Once Snape figures out how to approach the subject.  He's a little out of his depth.

    Short but good! I love the way Dumbledore just invites himself to stay and drink tea lol it was so sweet of Severus to let Harry sleep in his room, I was wondering after the first chapter when Harry was sleeping by his door if Severus would allow him to sleep with him : )

    It was sweet of him, and I wasn't aware that he was going to do it till I wrote it, heh.  I had originally intended for him to try to put Harry to bed in his own room only to have Harry wake from a nightmare while Dumbledore was there.

    Wow. Powerful chapter! I loved the last lines! Poor Snape. Harry was so fragile in this. And I liked the contents of Harry's special place. Now I get to ponder over them, just like Snape is doing. I liked the line too about Dumbledore not having anything in his tea that he already didn't want there. LOL Thanks for posting!
