Reviews For Arms of a Dark Angel
Author's Response: Yes, he can, so long as he gets to practice!
Author's Response: Umm . . .I'll let you know next chapter. The phoenix sounds cool though. You'll have to wait a bit to see what happens in the Skybolt.
Great action! I agree that you seem to have a nack for this, and yes--you would be great at writing an action script for a movie! I'd go see it! Author's Response: Yeah, i was pleasantly surprised myself at how quickly I updated. I've never tried scripts yet, but if I ever do and get one published, I'll let you know.
Author's Response: That's good to know, else I won't be able to write any more and I'd haunt you forever, LOL! I like suspense in my fics, lots of it.
Sev kicked butt in this chapter and while the two would have returned with possibly more muscle Sev has the law on his side he could have gotten help from others (as bad as it sounds)Dumbledore or even Malfoy would have the power to overturn someone like O'Shea. Harry has to win...could you imagine the evil and corrupt things a man like O'Shea could do if he had the boy-who-lived in his employ - Sev did not weigh the implications of this deal again - what was he thinking. I think Sev deserves more than a smack. I look forward to the coming chapters with baited breath; as usual you have me wanting more. Author's Response: technically, Severus has the law on his side, since O'Shea did abuse Boreal, however they have no proof save the pegasus himself and I don't think the word of a non-human creature, remember the Ministry is prejudiced, would be able to stand up in court. Plus O'Shea has tons and tons of money and can easily tie Sev up with court fees and appeals and whatever till kingdom come, he would go broke just trying to counter all the legal stuff. Plus while Sev could take on two or three wizards and dust them, even he would get exhausted from that after awhile, and he could never approach Lucius, since Lucius would want to know why Sev was concerning himself with Harry. As for Dumbledore, well, I don't know how much influence he would have had, but Severus would never go begging to him for help. Yes this race is dangerous, but remember who Harry has on his side, the premier racer Boreal, who O'Shea wants back desperately--why? Because he has the best shot at winning obviously, otherwise why bother looking for him? Severus realizes this, of course, and he will do everything he can to make sure Harry is safe while he flies and then all he has to do is win and they can never touch Boreal again, legally or otherwise. Sev is betting on Boreal to bring his rider home safe, and it's a good bet. Firefox won that race twice because he had a bonded rider on his back, but not all pegasi will find a rider to bond to, but those that do can fly ten times better, and that is also a point in Harry's favor.
Author's Response: Yes, you're right. Harry's grounding, and the ban on flying, was only for two days. After that he has to fly, so he can practice for the Skybolt. Thanks for reviewing!
I intensely disliked the Irish bad guys, of course and I don't like that Severus had to sign a contract. I guess it's a good excuse to get Harry and the pegasus into the race and allow Severus something new to worry about:) Author's Response: Thanks, I don't mind it when there are disagreements between the main characters, because that's like RL, but I don't like to drag it out. I thought the whole first part of OOTP was annoying when all the three did was fight, I wanted to smack all of them silly. Besides, I didn't want leave Ron & Harry's situation unresolved, they needed to get back together, since in COS they have many other adventurers together. If I do a sequel, I'll need them as friends for the beginning of that one, and the rest of it too! You aren't supposed to like those guys, even though they can't be classed as dark wizards, and the contract had to happen, it was the only way to keep the other side in check. And it is a very good excuse for Harry to ride in the Skybolt. Poor Sev! Like he needs another thing to worry about!
Author's Response: Didn't he, though? I loved writing the part where he shot Sean with the meteors and the freezing curse. Those two spells are my own invention, by the way. Ans Sev doesn't kill unless there is no other choice. The race is going to be the last big hurrah, and it'll be VERY exciting! Sev could have grounded Harry for a longer period, but remember he knows Harry needs to practice flying and get ready for the race, and Harry is going to need all of Sev's support as he prepares for it, and not be worrying about Snape being angry with him.
Author's Response: Thanks, those quick updates are one of my trademarks, you could say.
anyway great chapter, severus should of killed them or turned them into stone, made statues out of them, turned them into fish after he made a pond. poor harry having to do a horrendous race, where he possibly could get him killed Author's Response: I know who it is and will announce it next chapter. :) Sev doesn't kill unless he absolutely has to, but he certainly could have done so. I like your other suggestions though, but I needed the two to stay alive so they could issue the challenge and the Skybolt is dangerous, but Harry and Boreal can handle it! |
