Reviews For Arms of a Dark Angel
Author's Response: he would definitely do that! That's what he wants to do, deep down, and it's killing him that he can't, another reason why he's probably very grouchy.
Author's Response: I made Percy react the way my older brother would have if I'd done something like that, after all the Weasleys are a close knit family and I'm sure that they all love each other a lot and it's always the job of the older sibling to look out for the younger ones. Quidditch is coming!
Author's Response: They are both products of their childhoods, unfortunately, where the only person they could rely on was themselves. Minerva knows this and perhaps with a few hints, Severus might also come to recognize that he and Harry are alike in that regard. They obviously had a lot more to discuss in the office that Harry doesn't know about. And while he might scold Harry at first, he could also talk to him afterwards and explain how scared he was that Harry had knowingly risked his life, which is so very precious.
Author's Response: yes, i used to be one of those smart people, so I know where you're coming from. Snape taking his broom away . . .could be.
Author's Response: he may be, definitely for a lecture, the smack, well we'll see. Severus and Minerva really cracked me up when I wrote that bit about her grabbing him by the ear. And you have to admit an angry Snape is scary!!
I am quitting here though, as I have zero tolerance for religion inserted into fics, especially this kind of God saved us all, etc, etc, etc. The good thing about HP is that religion is not mentioned really, so there is such a thing as reader applicability - anyone can read it, no matter what they believe in. This majorly, majorly crossed that line. "Of course we believe in him" - "God" forbid there are people who a)don't believe or b) don't believe the same thing ah? Not very nice at all. Well it was good while it lasted so thanks for that. Author's Response: Sorry you feel that way, this was a different approach I was using here, and there was never any mention that other wizards can't believe in other religions, just that Severus was Christian. He was refuting Petunia, not badmouthing other religious beliefs. There will be mention made of other religions as Harry speaks with other wizards and witches who are not Christian and there is no disrespect intended here. Severus simply is using religion to illustrate the point of forgiveness, which I think is a major concept of any religion. It isn't as if I've made him a priest who goes around spouting Bible quotes. You could always skip over the small bits of religion I've inserted, and there aren't all that many, the same way some people skip over CP parts in other stories, for this is mainly a fic centered around a father son relationship and the events in the Sorcerer's stone. As for Snape not being in character, he's not like canon, because in this story he was in charge of Harry from the time he was four and always when the child was ill and sick and at his most vulnerable. Snape does have a heart and is not evil, and after taking care of a child in that manner for years on end, I would think he would come to care and love Harry and be able to look past the fact that he was James's son. Canon Snape never had that chance, he only saw Harry at school and it was easy to resent the boy who was favored by everyone and who broke rule after rule and was never punished for it. But this Harry Severus only sees as an abused neglected child, Lily's child, whom he has promised to take care of. Unless one has a heart of stone, it would impossible for anyone not to love poor Harry. However that is your choice and thank you for reviewing.
I love the interaction between Severus and Harry; it is very believable and they remain in character throughout the chapters. Again, amazing, /amazing/, work, Snapegirl. You should be proud of yourself. - So remind me. Why am I reviewing your story when you know how much I love it? ::peeks around the wall:: Are you absolutely 100% sure that Severus isn't a vampire? ::winks and bolts:: Byesies for now! Love, Jewels. Author's Response: No, it's not a wolf, that much I'll tell you! You review my stuff because you can't help yourself, LOL! Get ready for some action with the troll.
Author's Response: You'll be seeing it soon!
Author's Response: It is indeed the side of the professor without the mask, the side that only Harry sees. Eventually I think Hermione will notice Harry's reluctance to badmouth Sev and Ron perhaps as well. That's an interesting idea about "Uncle Toby" and I thank you for suggesting it. If I use it, I'll give you credit for thinking of it. It's a great idea of how to explain where all the gifts Severus will provide him with are coming from.
Author's Response: Thanks, I love picturing Severus that way, as the guardian in the shadows who saves Harry from himself and other students too. He saved Katie Bell in Half Blood Prince too don't forget. |
