Ooh, exciting end there. I loved your rendition of the troll attack - most original I've ever come across, especially the tobogganing! I'm really glad you put up two chapters instead of one, but somehow I seem to have read through them both even faster than usual. Hmm, must have been the exciting action! I do want to find out what Harry and Snape have to say to each other, as well as what will happen about the Quidditch match. Please update soon - these chapters are as brilliant as always!

Troll in the dungeon indeed! The images of the trio scurrying down halls encouraged by the paintings, the troll saying one of the few words it probably knows, and the toboggan ride are just great! The trio bursting into tears when it was all over just seems like such a normal kid thing to do. Ron claiming that "uncle" Snape was to handle his punishment shows that he is not nearly as dense as some may think - and maybe has a little Slytherin in him!

I quite agree that Ron was pretty clever in insisting his "uncle" and not his brothers get first crack at him. :) I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed the troll encounter in this AU and that you found the kids' reaction to be refreshingly normal. I always thought the kids in canon were a little too stoic considering all the horrors they saw!
I was so very touched by Harry not feeling like celebrating on Halloween. It so makes sense that he will be thinking about his parents and what happened all those years ago on that very night. And so like Harry not to want to bother anyone about it. I would be more than happy to give him the hugs that Snape is afraid to give!
Of course, the juveniles up at the staff table don't need hugs! The Hooch-Severus exchange left me breathless with laughter!!

I never understood why there wasn't more attention to this in canon, and in this AU, it just felt right for Harry to try to withdraw a bit, but without inconveniencing anyone else. And, of course, it provided a beautiful opportunity to bring in the troll! And yes, the so-called adults at the staff table are worse than the first years in my opinion! :)

Hahaha!!! Volauvent! Utterly, utterly priceless - what I wouldn't give for Harry to call Voldy that to his face if they met! Very, very funny - and the second half was very sweet - 'very special child' - awww! I wonder what Snape would say if he knew Harry thought he was 'forcing' affection on him! I'm still hoping that Dumbles won't turn out to be a manipulative bastard - I like your version of him too much, but I'd still be enjoying the story even if he did! Wonderful chapter, as always!

I am enjoying this story immensely. I like how you try to keep Snape obnoxious and how Harry is completely oblivious. The story line is engaging, and the characters are well done. Write faster, please. :)

Wow! Please write more now! I love so much about this story. I keep cracking up at Snape's imaginary letters--keep putting them in. And I loved Snape and Lucius' conversation in this last chapter. Very smooth. Now *that's* Slytherin cunning. Question: will we get back to Sirius soon? I suspect (though I hope I am wrong) that he won't be just waiting quietly in hiding.
