    Brilliant! The last two chapters made me tear up in spots. I so enjoy when Severus thinks of addressing journals in his thoughts. Great Job!

    I loved the "heart to heart" talk that Harry and Severus have this chapter. How fun it is to hear how they both misunderstand each other's reactions, and yet come around to an understanding of each other's basic makeup at the same time. Sweet and funnay at the same time!

    Harry is such an endearing boy - of course Snape will find himself agreeing to take care of him! I enjoyed the opening sequence outside of the Gryffindor tower in particular - Gryffindor bravery meets Slytherin cunning - Slytherin may win, but those Gryffidors still got their points in the end!

    Author's Response: LOL! I know what you mean about the Gryff/Slyth contretemps... As you'll see, the 2 Houses will feature fairly prominently in some of the later chapters.

    I loved your presentation of the Weasleys. In canon we don't see enough of Arthur, and I really like who he is in your story! Several laugh out loud moments in this chapter - That was my father... Yes, well it would have been, wouldn't it? (Snort, loved that one!)

    Author's Response: Thanks! I found it a bit of a challenge to write Arthur because, just as you describe, he's not as well fleshed out in canon as are some of the other characters. So I kind of followed my nose and tried to deduce what kind of a character he might be and then (since this is *my* AU, thank you very much!) just made it so! :) I'm happy to hear you enjoy the result. And yes, I must admit the line you quote is one of my personal favorites. I can just see Snape's deadpan delivery and Molly's distracted reply.... hee hee hee!

    OK - I am so hooked on this story this is my third reread here (I am also keeping up with newer chapters on Fanfiction!) My absolute favorite fanfic scenario is the snarky Potions Master eventually mentoring/fathering a young Harry, and your story is such a wonderful example of this! I loved Dumbledore (the old coot, I agree!) manuevering Snape into taking on the "slight" task of guardianship of the Brat Who Lived!

    this review is for both chapters 9 and 10 : they are great! I especially liked Harry's room and his reaction to it.
    I also liked how Harry and Snape misunderstand each other... it makes for a cute and fluffy scene afterwards :-)

    ROTFLMAO! Oh I just loved the reaction of the staff and students to Sev's new look. And I can just imagine Molly's reaction! Oh, the image you've given me [happy sigh!]...

    I really love the way you are portraying Sev and Harry and the developing relationship between them, too.

    I'm always so glad to see the notice of a new chapter in my mailbox, so the fact that you posted two chapters has really made my day.

    I just can't decide which chapter I like more. I love chapter 16 and chapter 17 and this chapter. They're all just so good. This chapter is especially hilarious with the reactions to Severus's hair and all his thoughts about Harry's pointy forehead and Harry's creative thinking with his lines. Great job.

I'm just delighted to hear that there are several candidates for the position. :) Re the lines, can you imagine how much fun the Gryffindor common room must have had with that assignment, ESPECIALLY knowing it was going to Snape? ;)

    Hilarious! It's always great to read about Snape shocking the rest of Hogwarts. Another sweet chapter, well done!

    This chapter was wonderful - thank you so much for sharing. The bit where Harry said Snape had given him a Dad made me tear up a little; beautifully written. Heh - Snape really doesn't know what he's in for, but good for Harry!
