    Author's Response: Yeah, it was a while back - before the climbing bookcases fiasco! As snakes aren't allowed for students, I suppose he would say that Salem was his dad's and he was looking after him for a while!

    I love your fanfic a lot. Shadow is an amazingly inventive idea and even the inclusion of Remus Lupin and Sirius Black is done differently than most have. It's light and sweet but it's got his roots in the darkness too. I was a tad sad when you mention you would not be using cp again, but I can totally understand why you did that. Sometimes, cp dictates a story but I don't think you would have done that. So anyhoo, about this chapter..I loved how Harry ended up on the roof. It's such a Harry moment..getting stuck outside his window..like a kitten in a tree. It was adorable. I love how Snape keeps noticing stuff towards the end...like his mind is playing tricks on him or something. It's funny. Keep this going, I'm looking forward to reading more.     Author's Response: Thank you very much! I love writing things with a twist to them; it's very refreshing for me. I'm glad you see this story that way - it was how I planned to show it. I wouldn't have let the CP dictate my story, mostly I just wrote it to see if I could do it and for the consequences, but I know what you mean. When used well, it can add an interesting twist to the story. I agree with you about the 'Harry' moment; he doesn't mean to do these things, they just happen! Mila is especially good with coming up with the 'Harry' moments... I just tweak them a bit! More should be up soon, I hope you continue to enjoy!

    Wow! What a cliffhanger! Love your Snape, but more so I really loved all the old Headmasters and Headmistresses in the portraits. They were done very well.

    Awesome. I loved it. Beautiful the way Snape visited Harry after he fell asleep, and his thoughts.

    love it, love it, love it. Hurt and comfort are my absolute favorite parts of this genre, I just had to go back and read it again. :D

    I love how Harry got stuck outside, but even more so how Snape and came and rescued him and they talked. I loved the mantra Snape made him say- and that Harry remembered it later when he was in bed. Fabulous. Please update when you can!

    It really is great to hear you like it, I love writing it, so it's wonderful to know someone else enjoys it too! My parents used to make me repeat things, like Snape made Harry, when I was insecure as a teenager; it's amazing how much it sinks in if you repeat a phrase out loud several times. Next update shouldn't take too long!

    Awesome read! I loved it! The snake was awesome, and I love the way that Snape gave it to Harry. Sirius and Lupin were getting a little bothersome, I'm glad they are gone, but I worry that Harry collapsed. I guess if Snape isn't then he's okay now. Great chapter, thank you so much for posting it!

    Author's Response: Thank you! I loved writing the bit about Snape just 'chucking' the snake at Harry then running, it seemed a very Snape thing to do! Try to remember the bit about Harry collapsing; it was mostly to do with exhaustion, but it is also an important point for later on in the story. I'm really glad you enjoy reading this so much, it's wonderful to hear!

    Hooray!! Fantastic chapter. I'm glad that Harry was able to spend some time with the Marauders. But now with Snape getting his things, he won't have any new clothes for the school year, will he? poor kid. Oh well. Thanks for sharing!
