Reviews For Severus Snape and the Muggle
How does Hedwig feel about Harry spending so much time with Pumpkin anyway? Once again I say well done. Author's Response: Glad you are enjoying the story. I don't imagine Hedwig would be too thrilled if she actually encountered Pumpkin, but that's not very likely. She's around Crookshanks in canon and Crookshanks is often seen snuggling up to HArry. Hedwig isn't exactly a cuddly pet, is she? You'll have to wait and see what happens with our three major characters, I'm afraid. Thanks for your review. Lesley
Author's Response: You are too, too kind. But thank you. Lesley
As for that mental image of Erin over Severus' knee, mmmm I hope that there are plans for that to actually happen. She is a bit of a brat. I'm going to keep reading now, I can't believe you put up so many chapters in one night. Well done. Author's Response: Severus does have a heart lurking beneath those black robes..it is encased in ice though. The ice is beginning to crack and Sev is a tad out of his depth with Erin. Put yourself in Erin's shoes. I think you would be a bit of a brat as well if you were thrust into the unbelievable. Especially if the person charged with helping you come to terms with things was so very nasty all the time. Lesley
In canon, it always seems that severus treats women with at least the basic amounts of civility and courtesy. Once again, thanks for sharing your gift with us. Donna Author's Response: Snape being nasty is OOC. He treats women with a modicum of civility? I don't remember that. He treats Minerva as a colleague but his interactions with her are very stiff and just barely civil. He is very nasty to Tonks about the change in her Patronus, and apart from interactions with female students, whom he is just as foul to as he is the males...Hermione specifically, there are only two other instances I can think of where he interacts with women. Don't get the movie Snape, who is nowhere near as nasty a he is portrayed in the books, mixed up with his canon self. The scene with Bella and Narcissa. Yes, he is reasonable, but he is also acting, pretending that he is on their side. Open aggression would hardly convey solidarity. And he is still not exactly pleasant. And then there are the childhood scenes where he is not only nasty, but actually hurts Petunia. Lily is the only female he makes an effort with and even then, he finds it difficult to remain pleasant As for Erin...he is particularly nasty because he is attracted to her and is doing everything he can to dispell this impression as he cannot imagine that his attraction would ever be reciprocated. It is interesting to see people's different takes on Snape. Thanks for you review Donna. Hope to hear from you again. Lesley
Author's Response: Thank you so much.. Am very glad you are enjoying 'Muggle', and the Muggle specifically. Couldn't have a weepy female falling for Sev! He'd sweep the floor with her and wouldn't be attracted to her in the first place. Update soon, I promise. Lesley
Author's Response: Thank you for your review, lily. Glad you found the story, and am thrilled you are enjoying it. Yep, Erin wouldn't take Sev's guff lying down...she is a thoroughly liberated woman. And Vernon is certainly a horror...not as bad in canon of course...we do attribute much more abuse to the Dursleys than they actually dole out in the books. Still horrible people though. Hope to hear from you again Lesley
The tension and chemistry you are building is very well done. Am I correct in assuming that it was Severus' hand comforting Erin? Author's Response: Umm, no sorry. Not Severus' hand. Severus was sitting on the opposite side of the table to Erin. it was Minerva's hand, and Erin even assumes it was Minerva, thinking to herself that Minerva seems to have taken it upon herself to be her official comforter. No, Sev is reluctant to touch Erin to date, because he is worried about the electric shock he might get because he is attracted to her. Thanks for another great review. Glad you enjoyed it. Lesley
Author's Response: Well, it is a love story...so yes, their relationship is becoming even more tense. Thank you for your review. Lesley
It's not exactly a cliffie, just unbearably sad. Author's Response: Thanks for your review. I probably broke the chapter there as I did not want to write HArry's emotions, nor the reactions of the various people around the bed. We know how Harry would feel, so we don't need it spelled out. Sorry if you felt deprived. Of course, it will be addressed in the next chapter, but briefly. Lesley
Author's Response: Thank you for your review. Glad you're enjoying it. Lesley |
