Reviews For An Uncertain Future
It's hard to name my favorite parts, because reallly I'd be quoting the whole chapter, lol, but I had to grin when Severus tried the flavored beans. I got tears in my eyes when Severus was looking at Lily's picture (Harry gave him the perfect gift!), and also at the end, when Severus can finally say that he's happy and grateful for the second chance that Harry gave him. I also liked how he had given Harry so many gifts and acknowledged to himself how Harry has also been affected by his past with the Dursleys, and you handled the situation with the Malfoys coming for dinner just perfectly! I'm excited for the next chapter, and for more of your other stories too! Author's Response: Thanks Kristeh. It was actually fun to write these Christmas scenes; it's my favourite time of the year, and I wanted it to be special for Harry and Severus.
I thought that it would be nice for Severus to be spoilt at Christmas too. Even though he's made many mistakes, he's trying hard now to be a good father to Harry.
I'll try to be better at updating next time.
Author's Response: Aw, thanks so much Ultra! I will.
Author's Response: Thanks. i'm tyring to play out the relationship a bit more. Oops, sorry about the Ginny-Harry pairing, but I'm a big fan of the two together. I hope that you can overlook that.
Author's Response: Oh, thanks so much. It means a lot to me for you to say that to me. Yeah the nightmares are a little complicated, as you will see.
Thanks again for the kind words.
For a first timer though, this is pretty darn good! I'm interested to see where some of these plot bunnies are hopping... Author's Response: As you pointed out, this is my first story, so I didn't realise that I was doing that. Live and learn they say, right?
Thanks for the observations though. I'm trying to do better. Someday, maybe I'll go back and fix things, especially in earlier chapters.
I'm just curious because of how freaked out Severus seems to be about the idea of him out there catching bad wizards. I wonder how he'll react when Harry leaves him. He seems to be getting really attached--it's going to be hard to let him go, as an adult when he missed all of Harry's important childhood milestones. Great chapter! I look forward to more! -P.G. Author's Response: Aw thanks, but yes, there really was a Auror presentation, but it was just a short information session, and Harry went to change his name. He did both. More will be explained in a later chapter.
Harry will have to go through a couple of years apprentice type of training to be an Auror, so he won't be going anywhere too soon. Besides, Ginny still has a year left at Hogwarts as well, so Severus will have plenty of time to get to know his son.
Thanks P.G.
The scene in the ministry with Arthur made me wonder if they had forgiven Snape for his role in cursing off George's ears. I also wonder if Ginny and Harry's other friends who had been in Hogwarts under Headmaster Snape would ever be able to truly forgive him. Or atleast, in such a short time.Logic that he had been on their side and had been helping them, aside, they are bound to have some scars, are they not? Author's Response: Actually, I plan on writing a detailed timeline for my story, becasue with the way that I wrote the story, some things did not happen as in Canon--it would have been impossible, there was not enough time for it to have happned.
This was my first story, so I may not have thought things out well enough, as far as the timleline goes, because I wanted the story to take place in Harry's seventh year, but in Canon, "Snape" was Headmaster during Harry's seventh year. So for the purposes of my story, Snape was not Headmaster, because Harry, Hermione and Ron spent the summer looking for Horcruxes and they returned to Hogwarts in about the end of September, or beginning of October, so let's just say that Snape was never the Headmaster in my story. It would have been impossible, according to my timeline.
It was fun writing the Christmas scene, and the snowball fight was fun too. Thanks for reading.
I was hoping you'd include more about the Auror training program information session. I wanted to see how Harry reacted with the details as I'm still not quite convinced he'll be an Auror. Hmm, maybe that's just wishful thinking. I don't think Severus is up for it, either. Great chapter, Pandora. I hope you feel better. Author's Response: Oh don't worry, there is a lot more Christmas cheer coming up! The next chapter will have a lot of interaction between Harry and Severus, as well as the Weasleys, and some other surprises as well.
I am going to have some on the Auror Training program, coming up. Perhaps as a memory or a flashback, but there will be more of that as Harry comes closer to graduating.
OOh, and I'm having withdrawls for your lovely story!!! Any updates soon?
Author's Response: Thanks so much.
Author's Response: Thank you so much Kayt. |
