Reviews For A Wolf in Winter
Please continue this series - I especially like it because of the wind sprites, which add that extra bit of magic to the story. Author's Response: I know the feeling, believe me. I had a dog that was part wolf once and looked a lot like Silver as I've described him. The wind sprites are some of my favorite charcaters too. I did just post a follow up to this called Snow Girl & the Sorcerer's Son and it features Silver, Severus, and Harry, of course! I loved your Christmas fic too and nominated it in the poll.
It is such a beautiful, warm, fuzzy, and fluffy piece that has to be read over and over again, specially while curled up in bed with a mug of hot chocolate. Author's Response: Thanks, Dina! I am glad you liked it, I love animal stories and always manage to have one in my fics somewhere. I also like harry/Severus father and son fics and this one came to me after I had watched a show on wolves and a christmas story on TV. That hot chocolate sure sounds good right about now and I hope you'll enjoy the next sequel to this one. The previous story Snowflakes and Memories is also a warm and fuzzy one and explains how Sev adopts Harry, if you'd like to read that one while I'm writing the sequel.
Yes, Please! Write More about this trio of "men" I think I'm in Love. V. Author's Response: Me too! I have an idea for a sequel already, and they all will be in it. Hope your holiday was great and thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks and I'll get around to reading your eventually. Glad you enjoyed it!
Author's Response: Aww thanks! And it does. Merry Christmas.
Author's Response: Thanks that's what I was aiming for. The fairy tales of the brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson are some of my favorite literature. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
I can't stop smiling about the fact that Remus' curse is ended and he needn't worry about hurting anyone ever again. And yes, please write more in this series if you have more stories in your head. They will certainly be as lovely as this one was, I'm sure of it. Author's Response: Yeah, I used to snuggle that way with my wolf-dog when he was alive, he looked kind of like Silver in this story. I always felt bad for Remus and was glad I could do something to help him for a change besides the usual Wolfsbane remedy.
Author's Response: Same to you and here they are! *think of white cake like cookies with white frosting and red and green sprinkles that taste divine, and a glass of eggnog*
I will mention that I think threatening to ship Harry back to the Dursleys was absolutely horrible. I blame Lupin for suggesting it, but I blame Snape for following it. Awful! However, aside from that, it was a very good chapter! Author's Response: Yes, Sev shouldn't have phrased it that way, although Harry wasn't quite as abused in this universe as in canon--the Dursleys only have him for about a year before Lily's oath kicked in and removed him into Severus's keeping. What Harry remembers most about that time is how Dudley was favored over him and he was mostly ignored and neglected, and called freak by Vernon, which is bad enough, poor thing. But I put that part in there to show that everyone makes poor choices and Sev is not a perfect parent by any means. But he does try. Thanks for reading I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I loved this story. For once Remus was portrayed as a noble man who was terribly hurt - much like Severus. I truly despise him in the book - really, I do. If you write more you know I'll read it. Merry Christmas, my darling! Enjoy your holidays! Keep smiling, keep writing and remember - it could always be worse. ::winks:: Love, Jewels. Author's Response: Yes, I always felt his curse wasn't dealt with the right way in the books, it was kind of glossed over except at the end. Remus always struck me as a tragic character, one who had been given a bum rap and needed a break, much like our favorite sexy Potions Master. Here's a very Merry Christmas to you too, sweetheart! :) |
